    Great set of options. The one that fits over the flat head/ bottle opener is the most versatile since it will fit pretty much every multi tool on the market. Even the ones without bit drivers at all

    Leatherman makes a ratcheting extender that I quite like, and it does fit standard size bits.

    The 711L ratchet driver made for the leatherman bit exchanger has been my go to to support standard quarter inch hex bits.

    Beautiful tool but the Surge is still way better due to the t-shank. On Arc you cant sharpen the blade with the tool's file! And the saw will be useless against live wet wood, with no way to repkace it with a proper saw blade!
    Anyway, this seems more like a collector's tool.
    I better keep my Surges and buy a dedicated magnacut folder (but i wont, my 4MaxScout surpass any magnacut folder).
    Anyway, the tool looks very well, and the presentation too!

    How are you liking the arc's weight ? I'm seriously contemplating picking one up to replace the dl30 and relegate the dl30 to the tractor . My thought is since the arc is a couple ounces lighter it may be nicer to pocket carry it depending on its dimensions . One more question besides the weight , how is the pocket feel.

    Does Leatherman actually have a reason legitimate reason for using the proprietary bit driver anymore? If the flat ones fit in a standard ¼", why not use a standard driver and keep selling the flat ones for saving space? At the moment it just seems like Apple's (late) lightning connector; an expensive (even on Alliexpress, $51AUD/$33USD for 1 bitkit) ecosystem trap that requires extra dongles for use with standard.
    Speaking of the Aliexpress and non-standard bit sizes, d'you reckon the flat bits on the little hexagon keychain tool (not the snowflake shaped ones), that are all over online shopping sites, would work in the leatherman bit driver or would they require ... modification?

    • @hvacbudget8600
      @hvacbudget8600  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Nextool's Captain multi tool has bits that some work in the Leatherman bit holder. Some also grind down double sided bits. As far as those other flat bits, I've seen some work some not as well. If you get some let me know how they work out!

    Seriously, that‘s very unsmart by Leatherman in 2024 for tools over the $200 mark. Competitioners offer 1/4 bit adapters onboard gor a fraction of the price. Loose the Arc + extra accessories you are screwed. Lose a $40 tool, sheit but ok. Leatherman is going to create a lot of value problems with their strategy in my opinion. I‘ll never invest in an Arc snd buy Leathermans only used. But thatös me.

    No.
    Actually add to the Multitool kit VIMTools RFB400K + a set of 1/4Bits you like + and a set of ¼ sockets. using the multitool as a screwdriver sucks most of the times. just don't wait Leatherman retarded engineers. Provide your own.
    1 because you have to pass through. And a multitool is too much to pass through most of the times.
    2 because you need the right shapes especially with torx screws, allen screws, metric allen screws
    3 because you need to replace exchange bits with other tools and so on over time, bits will not last forever and have to be replaced.
    4 and most important: because fixings are made by 2 parts so you need 2 devices fastening or undoing something most of the time if plier retain the nut or the part the ratchet fasten the screw or the bolt...
