If the arc had a serrated blade like the wave instead of the awl it would be a solid multi tool. That missing serrated blade for double the price is a deal breaker. Thanks for the comparison!!
Good video! The New Wave or Gen. 2 is an excellent tool...if you don't plan on using it for heavy duty cutting, you are all set...Otherwise, get the +, or even better, get the Surge...The other improvement to the + besides the cutters are the crimpers at the base of the plier head...also, the black sheath has a inner pocket for the bit kits...
Hi! Love the series! As I have mixed feelings about Arc, I would like your honest opinion: Is it worth to pay 1/4 of monthly income for when the Arc drops. I really like the toolset but am not sure about purchasing it
Yeah it is so worth it i think it's super worth the money because it has everything that you possibly need for any tasks so i cant wait until it comes out for real because it needs to release already
So do you EDC the Leatherman Arc,?? Or do you only pull it out for the camera?? Which i totally understand if you did only pull out the Leatherman Arc for videos
@@appleztooranges yeah i know what you mean i want to purchase the Leatherman Arc so bad! But i know when i do purchase it i probably won't EDC it much do too me modifying my leatherman Free P4 and p2! They are set up to take a beating and it has a bit driver on it as well... but i still want the Arc as part of my collection.. so why didn't you ever upgrade to the newer leatherman surge and wave+??
I'm pretty sure that I will use the King Surge for work then carry the Arc when at home and out and about. The Arc has the tool set that everyone wanted on the wave.
Leatherman wave plus currently retailing for $120 has been advertised for $20 off on their website a couple times over the last 6 months, so your estimate that the wave would go for $100 again soon is acurate.
Not worth 2 X the price let alone £260 GBP that it will be up for sale for on the leatherman website (for us in the UK anyway) I Will buy a wave+ as i believe the platform to be better. I like the idea of the free series, they just seem a bit gimmicky although like everything its subjective and everyone has different tastes, if you enjoy it more power to you.
I returned the surge and got the arc. Maybe for heavy duty use surge would be better, but I’d much rather carry the arc in my pocket. Really not missing anything but the serrated blade.

My arc arrives tomorrow. My first Leatherman. I've happily had the Swiss tool for a couple decades
Liking your videos so far. Keep it up
Thank you

No. Wait for it to drop
**Leatherman arc vs wave. Price is nearly double for the arc. Is it worth paying 2 x’s wave for an arc?

@@marcramirez1986I carried it once so far. I keep missing my charge+ though & surge. I guess it depends on what tools you use most

@@marcramirez1986 figured it was too much of the same and I do have a gen 2 surge in black. I just keep that in truck
ARC is new King. I skipped Wave and went right to Charge TTI and than P4. I appreciate all for what they did. Loving ARC. charge TTI and P4 had a baby
Daamn. No serrated blade!? That's a hard deal breaker for me. I prefer the wave's blade shape too.

I think the same. I'll stick with the wave.
Yeah, might just get a wave...
Let’s put a massive thumb hole on the file.. jeez… I swear these designers live their whole lives in a room.
They needed to on the arc to make it easy open. I agree it is huge though

I agree. It’s expensive asf
If you put the magnacut blade on the Wave+ the price of the Wave+ would jump up by $100 and still not have outside accessible tools.
wave👍
Use your multi tools
Arc is overrated. Surge is still king!
Agreed. Couple nice additions but you have to give up too much for it, including a lot of extra dollars. Not including a ruler on the Arc is annoying.
