Tuned in RIGHT away! It’s truely an honor and a privilege to listen and learn from such a humble and knowledgeable doctor… absolute great watch!
Thanks for watching!
I told my husband he needs to come listen to your podcast..He is a retired OB Gyn doctor, and graduated from U of R, also..His Uncle was a neurosurgeon , in Rochester NY..I love what you and your family are doing..I'm a retired critical care nurse, of 45yrs..
Oh, doctor, you have had more than your share of heartbreak. I'm sorry. Even with all that, you have dedicated yourself to caring for others. You are extraordinary.
I love the dr and his family.
Your calm demeanor makes people trust you.
Thanks :)
You folks are really lovely and compassionate.
I absolutely love your You Tube channel. I think you are the most humble and down to earth man. Thank you for the work you are doing. I am in awe of neurosurgeons and the hours and workload they have. I honestly don’t know how you do it, but God! God bless you and keep educating all of us!
PS Loved your story and your handsome, smart son. Can’t wait to hear your wife too, and see a lot more of your podcasts.
I appreciate that!
wow this was an amazing podcast!! just a few ideas of what you can talk about..
1.med school journey and residency journey
2. a case or a patient who had a great impact on your life
3.neurosurgery procedures and cases that are rare that you faced
btw huge respects for you! i'm a pre med aspiring to get into med school!! and i would love to hear your journey
Thanks for watching! These are some great suggestions and we will definitely discuss them in an episode(s)
I'm very impressed by your 2 man team! If I wasn't already consuming your videos as soon as they drop. I would think there was some kind of PR team behind this...but I know better.
1 of my favourites being when Dr Hoeflinger domenstrates the effects of alcohol and cannabis combined together on the body and brain. With visual representations!
Love your content!
Thanks for watching and the kind words! Just my son and I doing it 🙂
It was a pleasure seeing this first episode, and I really hope that we are able to see more in the future. I am going to start college in September, and going to take a neuroscience course for my very first time. I hope that one day I could become a good neurosurgeon as you Doctor Hoeflinger! Thank you for sharing your experiences.
Wishing you luck as you start the next step of your journey!

Thank you 😊
Great 1st episode!
Thank you so much! We weren’t sure how it would be starting out so good to hear 🙂
I work as an Occupational Therapust and have seen the after effects of drunk driving. Bryn Mawr Rehab used to have a wonderful program to try and prevent this. It is such a tragedy and the people who do this have no understanding of the ramifications.
SAD , for Brian. Don't Blame Yourselves.
Your making Changes.
Keep his Memory Alive, Saving Lives. 👍.
Brian Does Matter !
Wonderful! Thank you for posting. Great work on your inaugural podcast!

Let us know what you think!
This is an amazing podcast and I’m very grateful there are so many great doctors out there
Thank you!
Love this! Kevin is the brains behind his dad’s social media !! Very cool!
He surely has helped tremendously! I would've never started on social medias without Kevin and my daughter's help and encouragement!
Thanks for your work!
I’d really love to see your surgeries!!! Amazing video !!!!
I just bought your book. I can’t wait until it arrives. ❤ Thank you!
Dr. Brian: The following is part of a "Foreword" that was written for an account of the assassination of President Kennedy:
"There is implicit in all human tragedy a waste, a pointlessness. Tragedy unobserved is even more pointless. But tragedy unremembered surely must rank with profound sin."
So, it is good that we remember and learn from your family's tragedy through hearing you speak about it.
Thanks for showing me that
Definitely bring Cindy on! I’m a forensic science major but now work in a clinical laboratory in a trauma 1 hospital. Would love to hear her stories! I also personally have Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy and love learning about anything neurology related! I’m 8 years seizure free! :)
❤ Great podcast, I found you on Instagram and have been binging on all of them.
Thank you , I am Glad your here. Right On. I have a vp shunt. Back, Neck injuries. Different Reasons.
It’s good to see a humble doctor. I’ve seen a lot of very rude and entitled doctors. Like a god complex. Very refreshing to see.
Thanks!
Amazing work!
Thanks a lot! 😊

Respected Doctor,
Im a student studying in India
Im currently in 12th grade but i want to pursue medicine in U.S.
Im aiming to go into general surgery.
Im preparing for the Mcat exam and
I dream to go to the Harvard University for further education.
Could you please share some advice on how should i enter into a prestigious university in US
It would be really helpful on your part.
I swear Dr. Hoeflinger removed a drain from my back in 2012 at St. Anne's Dr. Zakeri did the surgery but I believe Dr. Hoeflinger fell on the weekend duty
Do the hospitals in Toledo have Scoliosis xray machine's?
Also, I lost my husband and can't recover.. I won't let him go, ever.
I'm so sorry 😢
Dr. Brian: Do you remember (or do your residency under or with) Dr. Paul Maurer in Rochester? He was or still is one of the top neurosurgeons in Rochester, I think.
Yes. Paul Maurer was there my whole residency. He is an awesome person and surgeon. Do you know him?
@@doctorhoeflinger No, I don't know Dr. M. But he came to general attention in Rochester in 2009 when he did surgery on a police officer who had been shot in the head and, amazingly, survived.
Difficult question.
In 2016 my son had a job site injury. He is now 30 and denies residuals.
He is a welder and a heavy weight came down from the ceiling and hit his left frontal. He now has a similar Harry Potter scar. He was a trauma pt at presby in Pittsburgh, PA. Had a successful craniotomy/plasty. When
I first saw him , I watched as his csf dripped down his hair. But he had no pain or loc. I've cared for pts with excruciating ha from spinals. Some require a blood patch for recovery? I know that this fluid is
replaced quickly, but why did my son not have head pain. How could his brain remain buoyant with such a large loss of csf? Something I've always wondered but didn't ask.
Thank you
His hard hat was not on
I would like a book for my Daughter. How Do I get a Book ?
If you go to our website: BrianMatters.com you can order one and we will ship it to you. Thanks
Can you please have women in your podcasts? I feel like women have a different view to offer and I would love to see that on your channel. You can also bring Cindy along for nutritional/parenthood advice tailored to Americans. I feel that Americans are in an unique situation. Please and thank you 💜❤️.
Yes definitely! We will be having Cindy and also my daughter, Christie on at times (when they want to) 🙂
