He makes every song he sings his own. And sings them in a way that few could imitate.
Geoff almost always makes major changes to update the rhythms, too... and the result is always spectacular.
Bill Withers wrote the song after seeing the film Days of Wine and Roses, about an alcohoic couple, who had trouble being together. It a song or pain and angst, which Geoff brings out so well. Bill Withers was the first to sing it. If you look at the credits under the title on his videos you can see exactly who did what.
Austin Brown from Home Free did a version of this song some time ago, filmed in his own yard with his pond in the background with the sun dipping behind the trees. So beautiful. And if you watch that one please be sure to watch Austin's message of his fans and reactors after the music ends. His wonderful spirit of light and love is part of why we love Austin so much.
Loved your reaction to this cover, Samantha! Geoff has said that when he is doing an arrangement, for him or for Voiceplay, he listens to the original, then listens to as many other artist's covers as he can. Then, if he can't add something to it, he walks away. It is never his intention to copy and paste another artist's work.
He is so talented and is just my very favorite singer!

Great reaction Samantha. I seriously think he is in my top 4 male singers I've ever heard in my life. Geoff is right up there with Freddie Mercury, Steve Perry and Tim Foust. New Home Free and VoicePlay this Friday! Second month in a row that they both released a new song/video on same day to TH-cam. I jokingly asked Home Free on their Patreon post if they plan it that way.

Geoff isn't _quite_ a solo creator. My understanding is that his wife plays a big part in his videos' filming and production.
