This is why I bought a 1994 Harley Davidson Electra Glide Classic. It has 125000 miles on it. It makes good power. It stops well. It does not leak nor consume oil. Also, it is carbureted.
I had the 1995 one , nice bikes just put some spots tyres on it . I could throw it about like a sport bike
What’s wrong with a 5 speed gear? Why unnecessary changing gears on a 6 speed?
Indeed, 5 gears are perfectly fine, at least for the type of bikes I like to ride - cruisers & choppers.
It seems to me, that the 6th gear is a bit of an obsession for US folks, who want it as an "overdrive" gear, just to maintain highway speeds with low(-er) revs and low(-er) fuel consumption. However, I have never ever felt a need for 6th on either my 2009 VL800 or 2003 VL800 (still giving out a pleasant sound at around 130kmph), and definitely not on my C90T (where I kick in the 5th only at around 100kmph).
@@buffalodebill7986 I don’t get it. The max speed limit in the US is quite low, to low revs ruins the engine, lower oil transfer trough the engine etc etc. I ride a Moto Guzzi. It works the best between 4K-5K revs, so why doing 3k in 5th gear (no 6th gear available).
@@basdebruin2355 Well, each engine & clutch are different, so there's no general, hard "min revs" limit - but yes, under-revving as such is a common malpractice / mistake a lot of (a.o.) cruiser riders do and indeed, in long term, it may cause issues with the engine a/o clutch - which is why I don't do that 🙂 As an example - my the VL800 K9 idled at around 1k rpm, so I typically shifted up only when above 3k rpm, which was roughly at +10kmph above the manual-given speeds - and the bike had zero issues throughout its 11 seasons with me riding it. My GF does the same for the 2003 model of the same bike (though, this one's carbureted, so under-revving would be really felt - and oooh it was, when she just started riding it 😀). The C90T I have is a different beast, quite capable of handling some under-revving - but I also avoid doing so, for the same reasons as given above.
The US speed limits may be a bit more varied than ones here in the EU, but I'd say that the 50kmph (~30mph) for urban areas, 90/100kmph (~55/60mph) for local roads and 130kmph (~80mph) for highways are the same.
@@buffalodebill7986 The vast majority of bikers just ‘are biking around’ and don’t do their own maintenance and repairs. They don’t understand what’s happening under their butt. It doesn’t the bike any good. Like not understanding what revs do with high power bikes. Scary dangerous.
Stay safe and keep your rubber on the grey stuff with the odd white lines. 😉
@@basdebruin2355 Thank you, I'll try my best and if you wouldn't mind, kindly stick to the same wish 🙂
Choosing a motorcycle happens emotional. Price is mostly secondary. Brands all know this.😊
You're 100% right. Some comments sections make that very clear. Lol
Expected to see more BMW in the list, expensive to buy and expensive to keep running..
Just like their cars
You can find BMWR18 lightly used in dealers for 10-12k. Looks like lot of them got traded in early.I suspect lack of feet forward position may be the culprit.Despite of riding position limitation I love R18 and plan on buying one.Its a timeless work of ART
Don't get me wrong but there are better videos out there if you are looking for bangs for your bucks...
Good analysis. IMO, the price is relative to your financial means. The price of the Multistrada seems a bit high, but then , no one ever said Ducati was cheap.
Whether you want or can afford it is relative. whether it is overpriced is absolute.
Kawa, Triumph and Suzuki are less than 20000 dollars, much less than others.
*”KAWA” I am the septuagenarian Kawasaki Vulcan 650 S rider resident in tropical Thailand. My 650 Vulcans purchased 2024. I was also considering to but the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650. But, recalled my previous small cruiser Royal Enfield Meteor 350 gave me chronic Wry Neck. The nasty vibrations! So, I chose the KAWASAKI 650 Vulcan. Same engine and the legendary Ninja 650. ABSOLUTELY NO REGRETS!*
Go to a Harley dealership and see 30-40 grand motorcycles I don’t know what happened why so much, go to a Honda dealership and see brand new smaller bikes for 5-7 grand and will last forever
Do you use hayabusa for commuting?
Same comment as mine, yours a day early. What a dummy 😅
Agree with all.The CVO Harley is absolutely insane price wise.Laughable,really.Don't forget the BMW GSA.Another colassal rip off.🙄
The Multistrada is over the top too.
@@Kevimoto
Absolutely.
The Bonneville is absolutely nothing akin to the Thruxton RS!
In the us the w18 is cheap. Over here in the Netherlands the black version with hard zadlebags goes for €35.000.
VAT, shipping and customs make US bikes around 25-30% more expensive in the EU. We ride Indians.
*Flying Dutchman. Please use EUR, USD or JPY. Etc. I live in sunny tropical Thailand we always use THB (Thai Baht!) No Mickey Mouse! No confusion!
By the way. I remember there used to be a luxury Dutch Sports Car SPYKER! Greeting Johannes K. Lindgren born in Suomi-Finland*
I would own all of the bikes shown . Alas, my income is a bit shy of what is required.
Anything from Italy
No doubt My favorite Motorcycle of these 7 Great bikes it's the Stunning, Agressive, Powerful, Impressive,, Awesome and Spectacular Japanese Beast Suzuki Hayabusa ❤!!!, Great explanation 👍, Thanks for sharing 👍👊✌️!!!
This list could've been filled entirely with any Harley (except the Pan America, but only just) or any BMW......and as for the BMW R18 being a "head turner", yeah....but it's turning your head away with your eyes screwed tightly shut, which is pretty much your reaction when you see the servicing price & the way it draws lines along the road when you try to corner it.
It's a buyers market for low miles used motorcycles for half the dealers cost.
*I always say Pre-Owned or even better Pre-Loved!*
I love Triumphs asthetics, but the price tag keeps me at bay. Maybe someday...
Triumphs are pretty well priced for what you get. The build quality is VERY impressive and is easily better than their Japanese competitors.
@@Pommo70*TRIUMPH MOTORCYCLES are built in Thailand. Also BMW Motorrad, DUCATI, Harley-Davidson. Two of the TRIUMPHS I tested/ reviewed for my CarSanook You Tube channel: The Bonneville and the Bobber. Just remove the Union Jack flag (The Butcher’s Apron) design element. We don’t need it! And everything is Hunky Dory! Greetings from sunny, tropical Thailand. Johnny CarSanooK the Septuagenarian motorcyclist born in Suomi-Finland*
Harley. Harley. Harley. 4 more Harleys.
I think it's funny that Harley-Davidson markets itself as a luxury or exclusive brand when practically every bike you see on the road, here in America is a Harley.
That is because Americans are nationalists but not very smart (at least the Harlequin riders aren’t.)
A new cvo Street glide in Ireland costs approximately $53,000...$13,000 more than the USA
CVO what does it MEAN?
Where is the Triumph Rocket 3 in this? Video was not really helpful in any way.
the rocket 3 is pricey, not overpriced 😊
How many, if any, of these bikes have Subscription equipment. Heated seats etc.
*I am a resident in sunny, tropical THAILAND. Born in Suomi-Finland. A NORDIV country - Not Scandinavian! Short riding season, heated seats and HEATED GRIPS! Subzero, Negative temperatures. Royal Enfield!
Overpriced? They're a steal in my country.
@@Kevimoto*And they’ll give WRY NECK (Stiff Neck) Trust me. Two years 40,000 km all over sunny, tropical THAILAND. RE Meteor 350 I call it the “Vibrator on two Wheels!*
Would love a Harvey but price and service cost plus insurance in uk puts me right of them
Yes, yes !
It is impossible to purchase HARVEYS in my country !!!
All american motorcycles are way overpriced…………
*Grow up!*
I can think of several that would bump a few of these off the list .. from several brabds
Buy what makes You... you !
I need a pipe on each side of my bike. They don't look right with just one pipe.
Hayabusa is one of the cheapest, for what it is...
If a Hayabusa is so legendary, you should learn how to pronounce it.
It's AI.
Program it correctly.
Yes, it is pronounced Hayabusa, not Hayabusa.
Deser Tex?
The “busa “ is not being used for a daily commute 😂 and Harley, BMW , Ducati, are just over priced suburban toys
BUY A USED ONE.
GET MINT CONDITION AND ADULT OWNERS. IN PERFECT CONDITION.
*I never say USED ONE! Always, Preloved One.*
"Don't get us wrong" is an overused cop-out line, used too often by the narrator.
*It’s not the Narrator - it’s the copy writer! Don’t Raise the Bridge - lower the River!*
Think you got them wrong.
@@Keyser_Soze739 Notwithstanding your fine application of humour, I AM correct in my proper observation. 💋
The W800 Is too darned slow !
If it is to solw for you, you are to young for it.
American motorcycles, where ??
The R18 is overpriced at $1.50
Everything is way over the top these days & it will only get worse. Handlebars on all the bikes today are WRONG. Big BMW being blacked out is CRAP. Strip all that garbage off that H.D. & you'll have a great bike.Hayabusa- nothing needed-great bike as is.Triumph: same engine in all their street bikes but a different tune on the style. Nothing new really but more $. And all of them except the Kawasaki W800 look like a plastic model kit. They just do not look real man.
*A real Man raises a Scooter! The VESPA Justin Bieber Edition*
BMW is awfull no matter what it costs. Wouldnt want to be seen on one.
*How old R U?*
