Anyone remember that mini Devastator that came out several years ago? I noticed that this guy's transformation is terrifyingly similar to the micro-version
So is Overload, most of these are pretty much over-engineered KO versions of already existing toys, with the exception of Split, Bomber and Paranoider lol
Honestly I don’t think we give enough credit to the people who create these transformations. Micheal Bay has some crazy Robot designs and being able to convert a vehicle to Bays robot forms is absolutely Amazing. Shout out to the engineers 🙌🏾
Yeah Bay's Transformer's transformation it's a scrap, a pieces of metal, a pieces what are holding from one place to another. Sorry I forgot one word at final and final looks like what, I'm kazakh.
Guys, you have to realize the robot modes were the least seen in the movie, so of course, they'd sacrifice the robot modes for the combined mode and vehicle modes, and it looks beautiful.
Highly disagree, robot mode was barely shown in movie, and studio series ONLY had better robot modes. The vehicle and combined modes of this line are almost identical to the movie, the studio series's body is too skinny, devy was chunky in the movie. I will say now, this is my opinion, and you are welcome to disagree.
@Richard Miranda Sorry but I disagree with you. I am pleasantly surprised about this comment section. it’s rare that I see that much respect for different opinions for 5 comments in a row. I did indeed enjoy the video 😉
I saw this on another person channel and this figure is huge and almost movie accurate 👍. Also nice review Edit: also i think devil savior (or Troublemaker) will be bigger than a 3a dlx figure.
@@PrimeVsPrime Robot mode isn’t that good. Definitely weakest mode out of the 3. I do totally agree with you on both vehicle & combined modes, both look incredible. Combined mode looks even better when you put Mixmaster’s combined mode on top of it.
I can't believe the SS version is almost the same size as Optimus. Optimus was the size of his face in the movie! Definitely gonna get the Devil Saviour version. Thank you for the comparison I appreciate it
The scale between this figure and split kills this for me. Split (mixmasters) cab is just way too big in comparison. Giant Axe needs to be 1.5x bigger to be in scale with split. The SS was closer to the right scale.
Cool review! I think there's a lot to like here, but the robot mode proportions being off makes this a dealbreaker for me. The Hasbro one had excellent robot mode proportions and details, but this one wins in the other two modes.
I’d say Devils saviour looks way better in Vehicle mode but Studio series looks a lot better in robot mode. Maybe not in terms of detail but accuracy and proportions
I love the details and everything on him, but when it is combined with Mixmaster the combined form looks like a giant sitting chiken, mainly for the transformation of Scavenger's arms lol
I just got my Smash today. Freakin' loving it. Made my pre-order for this beast. I can't wait to get all of em. Probably display them in robot mode individually and I will display my SS in combined mode with the DNA add ons.
Fantastic review as always. I do appreciate that they took the original legends devastator design and upscaled it and loaded it with added parts and detail. However you do see some drawbacks due to that. Scavenger definitely takes the brunt of the “simplistic” design choices of the legends engineering. Those wheels and head are TINY.
The transformation for Giant axe from construction vehicle mode to robot mode reminds me of the legend class scavenger you know the small combiners into devastator but giant axe is the legend class scavenger but bigger and improved.
the wheel on the back in vehicle mode are meant to act as the piece the throws all the dirt behind the vehicle, because in real life the vehicle has that.
They literally got the basic mold of this figure from the legends devestator the wheel store the exact same way, the transformation is also pretty damn close if not exact, not the combined mode however that is entirely different
He has such a beautiful vehicle mode in comparison to the Studio Series version, but maaaan does the robot mode suffer for having to combine together. Wish they could have figured out a way to expanding the wheels in robot mode or something
The robot mode is not accurate. The studio series figure was more accurate. This robot mode is more of an upscale, complete overhaul of the legend class figure from the 2009 Wal-Mart exclusive Devastator( which was also sold individually packaged supposedly). The vehicle is slightly better and the combined mode is the same as his robot, big overhaul of the legend class figure. Also we have DNA Design to thank for an upgrade kit containing better panels and a grinding piece.
It’s like they took the legends figure and updated, which kind of sucks. SS is better in the robot mode and vehicle, but ds has the better combine mode which seems to be the case with the others. That said 1/3 modes looking better than studio series doesn’t justify the price in my opinion.
The only inaccurate part with the Devil Savior version of Scavenger is that there's suppose to be two joints or two wheel holders(the thing that holds the wheel)in the wheel part but there is only one holding it and the wheel looks flat in this version, but other than that the figure looks great
It's looks pretty good so far. Remember, when it comes to a team, there's always that one horrible Transformer member that kind of ruins the whole vibe
