Fun fact; Devastator’s balls are not actually wrecking balls, but instead overhaul balls. Overhaul balls are used to strengthen connections on ropes and chains. You can tell the difference as overhaul balls have hooks on them while wrecking balls are just solid spheres.
Honestly, a lot of the studio series knockoffs are better than the original. Black Mamba made a KO Studio Series Blackout, called Hide Shadow and a KO Studio Series Brawl, called Storm Pioneer. Both i find to be vast improvements over the originals. I can say the same for the rest of the Mechanical Team.
The reason the crane arm and that other pieces are yellow is because the crane that actually was in the movie had those pieces in yellow. It's even yellow on the artwork at the front of Devastator giftset box. Mechanical Team is clealry aiming to improve accuracy with their releases.

I don't know if "many" collectors were upset about the balls missing hahaha but nice review and I think this figure looks pretty cool! He's got the two things that frustrated me about the hasbro one, which is better neck articulation and more "weapons" aka attachments for the crane. I'm not planning to get the whole team in this OSKO scale but this one (and maybe scavenger) might be exceptions!
I didn't notice that Devastator's Right arm has a turret on it in the movie - you see him shooting at a few things with it - and it's also clearly tracking Mudflap as he's smashing Devastator's face up.
this upscaled Hightower figure looks like a mix of his 2 concept art designs (one has the T-Rex arms & a tail that has a claw at the end, & another is similar to that, but with bigger arms, along with the left arm having the ball with the hook on it in place of an actual hand), & bc the concept art with the big arms couldn't be translated into a figure, Hasbro & Takara stuck with the T-Rex look as his official bot mode
Tbh, while the look is cool, there would be a few changes that I think would make it look a little better. One if both big "arms" had wrecking balls, so it could be like scrappers flail like in the movie and two I would rotate the crane part to the back which would act as a counterweight but that's just me. Amazing review
If we ever get another DNA DK upgrade set for SS ROTF Devastator i hope they give SS High Tower a new pair of arms based on one of his concept art of his robot mode.

Exactly, the only reason Hasbro went with the black was to match the concept art. But the real life crane has a yellow tower so it makes sense.
