- This is my favorite new toy- I can check the temperature of everything around me. The Etekcity Lasergrip 774 Infrared Thermometer- amzn.to/2iNBWO6 seems quite accurate and is so easy to use- just point and pull the trigger. Even gives live-time readouts as you move it over a surface. Cool to have in your toolbox and fun to know just how hot your phone gets playing Crysis.

You have to change the emissivity setting on it for whatever surface you're beaming at the time. Hence why a lot of your readings were inaccurate.
Had fun at the 6:57 mark... got to listen you both your Alexa and my Alexa solve a math problem. Was funny, but also disturbing since I heard '666' in stereo! LOL

Just received my etekcity thermometer.... Purchased for my snake 🐍 habitat. I will be measuring hot and cool side of the enclosure. It will come in handy for this purpose. So important to have accurate reading. Thanks for the review!

This is good for cooking, making sure the chicken/turkey is done all the way lol. And for soap making. All kinds of reasons to use it. Reasons are endless 😊👍🏾👏🏾

....y'dont use SURFACE temperature for food safety, you use INTERNAL temperature. Remind me to never eat food at your house.
I picked one up on Ebay , ran some test I have a temperature gage in my oven not just the One for the oven , I have a few Probes for temp of meat Pork ,Turkey , Beef , my coffee pot 140 brew temp . I used a probe in the coffee and took a reading about 2 degrees off 140 on the probe and Laser was 142 , Oven 350 on the hanging thermometer Back wall was 360 , door was 350 the vent is on the back wall so I think that maybe why it was hotter . So the Laser is reading fine , Room Thermometers Have a few set up in other rooms Office Bedroom living room 74 in the house took the readings right off the Thermometers 73.5 office, 74 in the bed room & living room 74 . for 10 bucks and within 2 degrees im happy . I do a lot of Auto repair that is why I got one , Auto parts wanted 100 bucks for one . sure it be little better , but to read the oil temp water temp why spend the extra 90 bucks.
Thank you mate, your comment was very helpful. I was considering getting one because it was cheap, and Im only looking for thermal gradients (checking for draughts and poor insulation in my home). I dont mind if its slightly inaccurate, I just need to know if certain things are strangely cooler than others. Appreciate your incite as someone who works in a trade.
My knockoff thermometer device from eBay looks exactly like this, but only measures temperature one time per press and has a mandatory beep. Measuring reflective items like a thermos gives off readings.
This one says measuring through glass may not be reliable.
We have one of those thermometers and it was fun to point at EVERYTHING :P And the birds love to chase the laser dot!
I seem to find a few things to use it on everyday.

Hi, I think that is an industrial/work sort of thermometer and not for medical (human) because it is dangerous to point the laser to the skin. Doc thermometer do not have laser pointer.. correct me if I am wrong please. Thank you.
i know the left button is to change from F to C and the right is for the light but what is the middle one for?

Sorry if I made it sound like women wouldn't be interested, it is just that men are SO interested in that kind of thing.
As a woman who owns one of these temp guns, I can tell you *Without Hesitation* that I would Much rather unwrap this on Valentine's Day than the type of chocolates most lovers can afford. A box of Quality chocolates costs twice as much as this gadget and isn't anywhere as much fun or useful.
Gender dispelling aside, professionals and people in the know will always highly recommend having a second gun to back up any reading-especially for those measuring the habitats of animals whose welfare relies on proper heating gradients.
BUT as of today 4/29/20, good luck getting a hold of even One! People are buying these to measure temps against virus detection even though the product boldly states Not For Human Use. So meanwhile, my dragon suffered through improper temps while this gun was on back order thanks to foolish panic buying. To them I say this:
"Oh No! Your temperature is reading 107 degrees? You're dying, go dig a hole."

Are you kidding? Everyone should have one. Check the temp of water or food, trace down a hot electrical circuit, check florescent lights for hot ballast, etc. There is no end to the usefulness.

Hard to believe but I got it a few months back as an upgrade for my Nexus 6P. I run several profiles on my phone and I was using up all of the 3gb in the active memory of the 6P. The OnePlus 3 comes with 6gb and hitting 3gb memory usage- which isn't hard for me- doesn't stress it out.

What a weird comment about "women wont understand why MEN would want this". Really?
For a real review you need to test it against a top end calibrated machine.............What I have seen of them they are total junk .
Please stop generalizing with the "women thing this" and "men think that" and "women might think this is dumb" stuff. It's sexist and a very regressive way of thinking. I like your reviews man, and I know you grew up in a different time, but it's not really appropriate. Also, the Valentine's Day tie-ins to the regular reviews may not make sense when new viewers watch this video 6 months from now. The $5 Valentine's Day video was good and makes sense on its own later, but this one doesn't really have any relation to it, if you want it to be a general reviews channel instead of a vlog. Anticipating someone viewing it this way I put a poll in the video asking viewers to identify male/female and would like/wouldn't like this as a gift.
