- Have you ever asked yourself if the truth about travel content is, that actually everything is fake? In this video I dive into what it means to create travel content, how it collides with authenticity and wether or not anything is real when we watch or create travel content.

THANK YOU for showing this side of travel content !! It’s not all sunshine and rainbows
true, except for sunshine and rainbows there are also photos and videos of sunshine and rainbows!
It's why I like Kurt Caz. It all feels very real. He shows the boring moments, the normal parts of life, places you would probably never visit etc. Feels genuine.
This is great. Love the storytelling and message behind this
thanks, David! I appreciate it 🙏
I'm glad your content fell into my feed! This is phenomenal
happy to have you here!
Top notch editing! You bring up a great point about travel content!
thanks so much, glad you share my view 🙏
This is very well made, very well edited, very well scriped - everyting about this is very good, how does this have so few views, this deserves millions
let's hope it'll get there 😁 and thanks so much!
'You cannot live what you display'. I am a travel content creator from India and I resonate with this statement for 80% of my travel days. Honestly, the only thing that keeps me going is to keep some extra days in hand to actually experience what I was busy creating the first few days. Nonetheless , AMAZING VIDEO! LOVED IT❤
it's so great to hear that you consciously make time for the travel experience!
My creativity is not broad enough to think of new compliments I can write under your videos, Wojtek. This was incredible. Seriously, a masterpiece Don't stop doing what you're doing. You're way too talented hahahh
well, you've done a pretty good job commenting, so there seems to be no lack of creativity or expression :)
You need to find a way to market yourself - this channel is underrated completely
Fantastic. The message you tell needs more exposure. Thank you
Thanks, I'm happy it reached you!
What a great video mate! Fake out on top of fake out on top of fake out. Loved it. Spot on comedic timing and quality throughout, as usual, but most importantly an interesting take and solid message. 🙌🏽
Thanks, mate! Really appreciate it 🙏 hope we get to make one together too!
This is so genuine. Thank you for sharing and your honesty
Thank you for watching! I appreciate the kind words 🙏
Oh my word this video is unbelievably good!!! Incredible impressed!
thanks, Aamir! I'm happy you like it 🙌
Okay this was INSANE, so engaging 🔥
happy you like it! 🙌
Man what a powerful video this is! As a fellow creator, with way less video made, I understand completely the struggles. Keep up with the contents, even if it’s not travel content, because you’re very good at it
It's miraculous how kind comments like these always seem to reach one at the right time - thank you! 🙏
tears in my eyes. that's the reason why i just let the camera run along with no additional comments. but even knowing that the camera is on and making sure it captures the best shots just doesn't let you enjoy the moment in the experience. a big sacrifice of the content creators, and most of the time it is not even rewarded by the algorithm. great video from you, thank you ❤
it's a question of priorities, I guess. Wether capturing or living the moment, both is fine. It's just that we can't have both at the same time. Thanks for the kind words! 🙏
True, that's why I create my local travel vlogs to closely resemble the original locations. No drone shots because people don't fly when they go there
I just started my channel last year. Before that, I had basically been traveling for the sake of traveling for several years. I'm sure I would be much further along as a creator had I started back in 2016, when I first started traveling. But I'm glad I made a conscious choice to just experience being on the road first because I would have ruined some beautiful moments if I felt the need to film everything to grow an audience.
there are definitely two sides to it - I never really regretted to capture something on travels, but I definitely had to learn, when to leave the camera in the backpack or how to use it "efficiently" instead of all the time - also: great channel name!
@@JustWojtek Definitely. Setting good boundaries are critical for all creators. It also really helps me to remind myself why I'm doing this. Of course, there's a level of notability you'd like to achieve by growing an audience. But that can't be the prime reason. For me, it boils down to developing skills as a visual storyteller, remembering interesting moments from my life, and having a vehicle that gives me an excuse to connect with people.
Thanks for the video and the content you're making!
The main problem is too much copying each other and filming the same stuff over and over again. This is the reason why now RAW traveling TH-camrs are getting more and more popular. Like Kurt Caz, Bald and Bankrupt and many more. They just film what is happening around them and this is as close to reality as it gets. If you film the same waterfall million times it can get boring really fast, but if you film human interaction and emotions in the everyday travel life this can last for a lot longer time.
do you think really everything is as raw as it seems? You could describe Casey Neistats content as "raw" but once you see how he makes his videos, you can not unseen how much work goes into it.
@@JustWojtek No I couldn't describe Casey Neistats content as raw because he edits almost every second of his videos to make them short and straight to the point. They are more like mini movies rather then just raw very little edited content. We still have to edit things even in 1hr long videos since a video can't be 24 hours of just boring content. Although streaming has gotten very popular right now which also takes away some audience from TH-cam.
@@ThinLineMedia I see your point. Let me just say - from the point of a creator and editor - the audience can never tell how much has truly been edited or not. it basically starts with the decisions what footage goes in or not.
@@JustWojtek Well, if you stream and then leave your stream available like a video, then there is no editing - it is real life. You can also make a video almost like a stream with very little to no editing. As long as it grabs attention and you can make a buck it is all good. Short cinematic videos with tons of editing are long in the past. Now only the speed of creating content matters. That is the reason for TH-cam shorts and Tiktok.
Good work👍
Thank you! Cheers! 🙌
Dude your message is so true, thanks for this great video!❤
thanks for watching! I'm happy to hear this resonated with you 🙏
Sure, your message is quite on point, the youtube content misleads in terms of the travel perfection, the problem is our psychology, we tend to pay attention mainly to a bright and fun side of the experiences and do not care what stays behind those perfect drone shots, epic sunsets and smiling faces - the reality is not like this and this is probably why we watch these "perfect" travel vids - we want to escape from it into a perfect world which in fact does not exist. @@JustWojtek
As for the creators, I used to publish many travel videos during my week-end and holiday traveling here in Italy, but quickly understood that in many cases creation of the "perfect" content does not let you enjoy your travel, this anxiety of shooting the perfect scenes, wasting time on reshooting - probably worth it once it converts into sweet numbers on your bank account, otherwise it's just waste of time for seeking the attention from the people in the internet. I still love shooting and storytelling so I changed the strategy and shifted the focus on travel tips, do's and dont's, less drama, less glossy perfection, just telling what I wish to know before visitng the places.
Woow, Wojtek, you have an impressive storyline and great plot twists in this one. Indeed, quite some expectations are shattered the moment you start traveling and realize that almost nothing of what you've seen in those travel videos is the way it is in real life.
Keep up the good work.
thanks so much! and indeed, things are rarely what they seem to be
So good!! I relate to this in so many ways. Wow
thank, Kevin! 🙏
Yo, I like your video. I'm small travel videos creator myself. And I honestly get that. We try to pack some part of our lives into a story. Nothing wrong with that, but as you said - viewers should be aware that there is so much more things happening that never will be told. Who wants to watch a video about having a bad day assuming that you want to record on that bad day.
Thanks for this one! Subbed! Take care!
that would be a really weird niche "angry sad travel - join me and my misery!" 😄
@@JustWojtek 📒 😅
well travel!🤝
Gold
And when you think about it, you realise that all you need is a GoPro pointed forward tot the action: so basically you are enjoying and recording what you are doing.
Don’t prepare, just mount in on your helmet/chest mount/ bite mount and point it forward and goooooo!
Great Video
Glad you enjoyed it!
The only "travel" channel I watch with interest (or at all) is Bald and Bankrupt. And if I want to see some places I've never visited, I'll take a virtual walk in street view or look up local photos.
seems like a good idea. so you don't even watch documentaries and such?
@@JustWojtek Depends on the subject, though documentaries are in another category imo. The average "travel" channel won't document anything worthwhile.
❤
🙏
This is a very strong and impactful video Wojtek. I can only imagine how much time and effort you put into that one. I love your examples and metaphors. They are on point and getting the message over very clearly. How you deliver the message with your own words and the production value is extraordinary.
I can identify so much with what you and @Stefanovic92 are saying since I was creating travel content for my channel the last few months while living and travelling in Brasil. I've uploaded the last one (for now) yesterday.
I can highly relate to your thoughts and feelings regarding the creation of travel content. I'm feeling the same since a few months. I wouldn't say I won't ever create a travel video / vlog again, it can be fun sometimes and cool to have the video as something to look back on at some time in the future. But it's true, running around with the camera trying to create "the best shot" takes us out of the moment and diminishes the experience. It "alters it" how you are saying very correctly.
Keep up this amazing work and that great storytelling. I really enjoyed this one and think that it is exactly what many people need. You've got my sub. You deserve it. Weiter so!
thanks, buddy! and maybe to clarify: I think there is nothing wrong with "getting the shot" but only if you go out to get the shot. If you go out to travel, go travel, but maybe leave the camera aside.
Intro 😂😂😂
the best part of every video 😁
Traveling while doing content creation personally would feel ah bit more freeing if you build a audience that enjoy when you post videos not just wit sunsets and beach’s but yk foods reviews and haunted areas or public interviews etc you know branch out wit different ideas and you would have ah bit more fun but also you audience will be more intrigued and also you will be building a bigger audience
that definitely can be fun, but it also turns more and more into a professional production that needs to be planned and controlled, so it (most of the cases) starts feeling more and more like a job - which can be fine!
You no longer enjoy travelling when you vlog about it, because creating content about it is stressful and not fun?
well, if you travel for fun, it's fun, if you travel for work it's work. content creation is work and striking a balance is hard.
Yeah, but NZ is real and we are here ..
… and I’ve been there, so I approve this argument 🫡
