Thanks for the mention.
Sorry my videos are so infrequent. It’s a combination of their taking quite long to make and some health struggles I have going on at the moment. My aim is to get them out more frequently again. Working on a few new ones at the moment.
Thank you for this comment and for all your work! It's very unexpected and gratifying to be honest. I want to wish you speedy deliverance from all your problems, resolution of all your health issues, and generally all the good things in the world! Ignore the algorithms and keep making your videos the way only you know how. Your loyal audience will definitely watch them, no matter how long a break you take. Thank you again!
A society of mutual admiration. Love this spirit. Subbed to you both. I look forward to the info and inspiration. Be well.
I would add Henry Turner, Ian Worth, Mark Denney, Craig Roberts (e6)and Nigel Danson to this list.
Thank you! I used to follow Nigel a while back and then stopped, can't remember for what reason anymore. Thanks for the reminder and the names that are new to me!
After watching a Henry Turner I just want to out and photograph right then. His energy and passion are so infectious.
Simon d'Entremont
Thank you!
Yes!👆
Great choice! I've learned a lot from his channel the last couple of months.
I would like to add Alex Kilbee (The Photographic Eye). He takes a more philosophical approach. Very inspirational.
Thank you! He has already been tagged in the comments of this video and even commented on it himself :) But thanks again, he will definitely appear in the next video on this topic, he's a great photographer!
For landscape and forest photography (and some others as well), I want to say that Nigel Danson in the UK is at the top of his craft. He is phenomenal. You already named Sean Tucker - good! I agree with that. Closer to home, in North Carolina, I recommend catching Mark Denney, also a landscape photographer. He is also a good teacher to learn photography from.
Thank you!
I would like to say that I back all the photographers mentioned are absolutely amazing. TH-cam is thankfully awash with talent and they are a blessing to watch and listen to for inspiration and advice. We all know the ones to avoid that usually start with this camera changed my life or you have been doing wrong or the rule of thirds doesn’t work. Thank you for sharing your video with us all Sir.
Couldn't agree more!
For forest photography, Courtney Victoria is a must
For street photography, "imitative photography" nails the balance between, art, deep dive, method and technique.
I also recommend watching the viewers mail review of The art of photography, really inspiring to see zines and books created by people who aren't "famous" or "important" yet there's a ton of outstanding photography there.
Thank you!
Adam Gibbs is great. Simon Baxter is a must watch fot me when it comes to forest photography. He is an inspiration.
Thanks alot!
Add Sean Tucker for photography and philosophy.
Hey, he is mentioned on this exact episode! 😁
Great selection. I would enthusiastically add Michael Shainblum, Ian Worth and Simon Baxter.
Thanks! Sure, I can already see that I'll need to do another listing soon with names that didn't make it into the first one :) Special thanks for the mention of Ian!
Agree
I second adding Michael to the list. Very interspersed style and soothing viseos
Wow! This blew me away…one photographer generously recommending other TH-cam photographers to watch. I agreed with your selections and of course the list can’t be infinite but I really like the work of landscape photographers Henry Turner, Mark Denney and Gary Gough. Street photography brings me to Frederik Trovatten and Samuel Streetlife. Great video.
Thanks for your suggestions!
Here's a few more, a bit of everything:
Alan Schaller; well known 'street' photographer, his work is good, his topics educational and most importantly, he doesn't take himself too seriously.
Kyle McDougal; a scenery/landscape photographer.. every one of his videos is like I can feel my blood pressure lowering.
Linusandhiscamera; mainly a studio film photographer, very creative work and novel way of lighting his subjects. His positive demeanor is just great.
StreetPhotographyChannel; mainly for his compilation videos of famous (and not so famous) street photographers from all ages.
Framelines; for their magazine and community of (street)photographers.
Graeme Williams; for discussions on all aspects of photography.
Alec Soth; he was mainly active during the lockdowns, but I love his photobook discussions. Great insights into how to approach photography projects, sequencing, etc.
Wow, thank you! It's going to take me a while to watch everyone! Thanks for the amazingly comprehensive comment!
@@battoon I lost my reply in a tab somewhere, but I'd like to add Nowness, they have an art channel, but interview the odd photographer. Their interview with Matt Black is recommended.
Also the channel of Paulie B, he does photowalks with street photographers in New York. The one with Daniel Arnold resonated a lot with me.
In the old days I mainly watched video essays from Magnum Photos (sadly no longer on their site) and American Suburb X (thankfully still around!).
Thank you so much!
For forest photography I think Simon Baxter is fantastic!
Thank you for your excellent list of exciting and interesting photographers with TH-cam channels. It's great seeing the growing list of photographers named in the comments.
Many thanks!
Morton Hilmer, Mark Denney
Thank you!
@@emesphoto Yes Morten is the most legendary storyteller on TH-cam!
No Peter MacKinnon? 😂😂
This was a great video. Half these photographers I have never heard of. So lots of useful tips & your comments section. Thank you
Thank you! Check out volume 2, I’ve just uploaded it today 😀
Some good choices there. I would also add Simon Booth and Simon Baxter.
Thank you! Watched both and subscribed, really interesting!
Agree
This was the video i needed! Ive been trying to find/remember one youtube channel for ages and through this video i found it! thanks loads. The channel in question is Jamie Windsor. One of the best channels for someone completely new and who i consider to be one of the most overlooked as he made a huge impact on me starting out was "Mike Browne"
Thank you for your comment, I'm so glad you found Jamie again with my help! Don't forget to subscribe and click the bell this time 😊
And I promise to release a sequel to my humble parade of the best photo masters on youtube after a certain time. Maybe it will be a few episodes, so it makes sense to subscribe to my channel too, probably 😁
Tatiana Hopper's chennel is great starting place for those looking for greatest photogrphers aestethic.
Thanks alot! I'll try! 👍🏻
I agree with TAdams-hx9lk that Michael Shainblum is an awesome photographer who can create great photos when the conditions were unfavorable and find simple alternatives thate are very artistic. Also enjoyed his video at Death Valley where his primary focus was photographing “mud” (dried mud).
Thanks! Michael is on my list, I've really enjoyed his collab with Gavin Hardcastle (fototripper) - they've made the astro photography lessons together 👍
Hello, Pavel. How’s it going? Great video. I follow all the photographers mentioned in it. I’d recommend Gary Gough, who shoots landscapes, fine art photography and sometimes street. Craig Roberts is another fantastic landscape and fine photographer. Recently I’ve come across a fellow named Eduardo Ortiz, who does streets. He’s a master of layers.
Simon Baxter, the premier woodland photography master in my humble opinion!
Thanks!
Great video, could be a mini series if you keep repeating this format with new names suggested by your audience! Sean Tucker is amazing, I learn a lot from Ted at the Art of Photography too. I see many other familiar and helpful names in the comments here.
Thank you! I definitely will proceed with this theme 🤝
I follow a photographer who would fall under your art photography category. He works with multi formats, all the way up to 14x17. He prints Alt processes, such as carbon transfer, tri-colour gum, salt, kallitype… I’ve learned a lot from his. He is also a photography teacher. His youtube channel is analogue andy.
thank you!
The list was spot on although I would like to add another great channel ; The Photographic Eye.
Thank you!
I would add Michael Shainblum as well.
Astrophotography is dominated by the late and great Alyn Wallace. His vlogs are full of incredible knowledge and amazing photography.
Thanks, made a note to myself for a future sequel!
Someone who I think is an amazing portrait and studio photographer is probably Linus and his camera
Frederik Trovatten for street photography… you will also get lessons on how to approach people for shots!
Thank you!
Don't forget the great New Zealand photographer - Will Patino.
Btw just subbed ya cheers
Thanks alot!
You forgot me.
Indeed, how dare I! 🤝
Add Danni Connor to the list.Wildlife, Squirrels etc.
Thanks!
😂
iWander Photography
😂 many of the people that you recommended i have found but a few are new to me, one thing I have to say i have only came across a small amount of people on u tube that are not worth following, one woman that I can reccomend that you did not mention is Kim Grant.
Well I have never heard of these young bucks. Though you can study the works of the masters of landscape photography and get better images. You should learn from people who have covered the world for the last several decades like the David and Peter Turnley. Of course there is Edward Weston, Angel Adams and the list goes on. I see a lot of TH-camrs whose work is junk because they over process the images in photoshop. Sorry but show it like it really is and get it right in camera!
Thank you for those names! The question of processing is debatable, many things that can be done by processing cannot be done in the camera, such cameras have not been invented yet. (Please tell me if there is a camera where you can do focus stacking without post-processing). But I agree that over-processing is unfortunately a very popular disease today. I'm a sinner too :)
Not one of the recommended photographers mentioned in this video over process. I doubt you have any idea of their work.
Is Ansel Adams making videos on TH-cam now? Cool. What’s the URL?
@@battoonOM System (Olympus) cameras allow camera stacking in-camera (as well as the more usual Focus Bracketing that requires post processing).
Cool, I didn't know about that. However, I don't think it means that shooting in raw and then processing is something bad.
Great video!
I follow 80% you mentioned here. The only problem they don't follow me. 😂
I'm mainly landscape photography focused but I really like the videos of Alex Kilbee, aka @ThePhotographicEye
He talks about some aspects of photography usually not discussed elsewhere. I can recommend it.
Keep up the good work.
Thank you! And great point - yes, I'd like them to be subscribed to me too 😁
Thanks for the mention :D (It's Kilbee btw)
Glad you are here! 👍
@@ThePhotographicEye Apologies Alex, fixed the typo. ;)
@@lightsandtones lol no worries - it's been happening my entire life :D
I agree with the photographers mentioned, but how come "Mads Peter Iversen" was not mentioned, not even in the comments. This is one of my favorites for landscape photography. Mark Denney, Henry Turner, Nigel Danson, Simon Baxter, Courtney Victoria and Kim Grant also definitely deserve a place on this list. Be sure to check them out on YT.
Thanks! Sure, Mads is on my next list!
Mads is great and I love his enthusiasm
Nigel Danson for landscapes and woodland. Simon Baxter for the finest of woodland images.
Thanks, definitely both on my list
There is one photographer that inspired me to get out into the forest, and that is Courtney Victoria of the U.K. - She is an inspiration and a breath of fresh air, unlike most all other photographers that I have followed. In the past, for many years I photographed weddings, families, etc. After watching Courtney, my inspiration to begin woodlands photography was flamed, and it has been ever since.
Thank you, I'll try for sure!
Im a huge fan of her content as well. Plus she is adorable!
@@JLTPhotog- Adorable she is. Also, how many other photographers dance in the forest, and beam themselves into a location?
Courtney is just so down to earth and free.. and has a beautiful photographic eye.
Agree!
One other person i would recommend besides Kim Grant is Madds Peter Iverson.
I'd add Alister Benn (Expressive Photography).
Thanks for that 🙂
Thank you very much!
Simon Booth is worth checking out. He makes amazing close-up images of things he finds in forests.
Thank you!
And Thomas Heaton, UK. A great photographer, adventurer and videographer.
Thanks! He is really amazing, thats why I mentioned him in this exact video, check it please 👀
While hes a great photographer, i actually like Sean Tucker more for his philosophy and inspiration than his photography.
Totally agree! So exactly that's why I've mentioned him in a "photography as an art" section of my video
I would highly recommend T. Hopper's channel. She picks a photographer or film maker to feature and takes a deep dive into their work to see what we can learn from it. Also highly recommended is Richard Tatti's channel, Nightscape Images. His specialty is milky way photography but his passion for teaching how he plans, takes and processes his images is very engaging. His images are true works of art.
This is really interesting, thank you very much for your suggestions!
Nick Carver... Hands down.
Also take a look ar Mark Smith, Steve Perry and Jean Fruth.
Thanks!
great video and selection. I would add Gary Gough to the list. Amazing photographer and youtuber.
Absolutely agree, he's a great craftsman. And actually in the original version of the script, but the video was already getting too long. Pretty sure that if I do a sequel to this episode - it will definitely be included in the next video!
Simon Baxter is a good friend of Thomas Heaton and an exceptional woodland photographer. Also Gary Gough is a great landscape photographer.
Another exceptional nature photographer is Morton Hilmer, out of Denmark. His training and outdoor survival skills allow him to capture pictures most others would never be able to get.
Thank you for those suggestions!
Some fine channels mentioned I’m subbed to all. I shoot and enjoy all manner of photography so watch a wide variety I have no clear favourite creators although a nick carver video always entertains me for his almost obsessive pursuit of perfection. For gear reviews and his awesome model portraits I enjoy Matt Osbourne for street work I enjoy Paulie B walkie talkie episodes always very entertaining. a good kiwi to watch is Paul c smith. The late great alyn Wallace was always a must watch sadly gone far too soon RIP Alyn. I watch so many others it’s hard to keep a track. Some awesome inspiration and entertainment on TH-cam far far better that all the canned manufactured crap on tv imho 😂
William Patino is great for forest | mountain photography
Thank you very much!
Andrew Findlay another Inspiration
Thank you, Pavel, for the mention.
Thank you for your talent and for sharing your unrivaled gift on youtube!
Great list indeed. I would add a few in certain categories. For B&W I would recommend AOWS. His vision is quite interesting and so is his composition.
For street photo and composition I also like Adrien Sanguinetti. Kinda under the radar account if you ask me. Load of informative details in his videos.
There are many others that are worth mentioning like Teo Crawford or Gary Gough or Mark McGee.
Thank you for the suggestion!
All the photographers mentioned in the video and the comments section for landscape photography are great. I'm subscribed to them all.
Good photographers that you name, but I have my preference for solitary photographers who concentrate on photography. When they start to team up together to promote their TH-cam channels and talk more about their van than photos...then I leave.
I understand you and I too am often puzzled when a video starts talking about something other than what I came for
Ted Forbes (The art of photography)
Jan Wegener (birds)
Matt Osborne (Mr Leica)
mathphotographer
Thank you for your suggestions!
Jamie Windsor & James Popsys are 2 of my favourite photographers to watch
I also love Sophia Carey’s portrait photography videos but also her photography as a business type videos too
Thank you very much!
Adrian Vila: black and white/art
www.youtube.com/@aows
Thank you! This is really interesting!
IMO those TH-cam photographs which you mentioned are good photographs for a certain level, but if you are interested in the best ones without any doubt are: Rodney Lough Jr., Reuben Wu, Paul Reiffer, Peter Lik, Elia Locardi, Peter Eastway,Joe Cornish.
Thank you, you'r right!
do not over look the work of Michael Shainblum
Yep, Michael is amazing!
aows is a great one to watch too :-) Thanks for your channel.
Thank you too!
Thanks for your perspective on photographer TH-camrs to watch!
My pleasure! Thanks for commenting!
North Borders
Frederik Travotten is a super cool street photographer and I also love the photo walk video style of Lukasz @Eyexplor who is a street photographer in Japan.
Thank you, I'll try to watch both!
