Let's go over a few things, shall we? 1. "Her other half"? "Been by her side the entire time"? He literally tried to kill her multiple times and abused her horribly both physically and emotionally and I'm glad she killed him/bit off his lip/threatened to shoot him in the face. He deserved it. All of it. Literally everything. 2. She didn't get kicked out of hell for being too terrible for even hell to deal with. Even then, Harley wasn't fighting her to fight her, she was trying to get her to see that the Joker was NOT someone to emulate and felt violence would be the only way to get through to her, which was a good call on her part because otherwise JD would've passed off anything Harley said as her being weak. 4. You added her fighting/killing her abusive (ex)boyfriend, but fail to mention the time she LET A SMALL GIRL WHO TRUSTED HER GO BLIND SO HARLEY COULD GET A FUCKTON OF MONEY. @Daniel Appleton maybe, but we can agree that, in both cases, they weren't legally insane, right? They could have gotten away if they wanted to? Maybe I'm just sensitive to these sorts of issues because I hate it when mentally ill people get treated like dirt, but I feel like a doctor running off with her mentally ill patient, like in Harley's case, would mean the doctor was at fault, because she took advantage of a vulnerable situation. Stockholm Syndrome is possible to be had on both sides, and Florence Nightingale Syndrome is a real thing, too. It doesn't matter what happened after that or how badly the Joker treated her. I can't get past that she was put in charge of caring for him, and she basically betrayed him by trying to take advantage of him, and now she's being hailed as a hero! It's a very very disappointing story that basically says that if you are mentally ill you are worthless unless you can meet certain of society's odd expectations, like in Harley's case. The fact that she's now viewed as some kind of hero because she basically caused him more emotional abuse is disgusting to me! If this happened in real life I would want that doctor prosecuted and punished. Harley was an odd character, because, like I said, she basically started out as a "Joker groupie" and was used to bring out the character's more sensitive side. I could forgive her for "taking advantage" of her patient, as long as she loved him and it came from a place of concern, but turning tail and leaving him after she acted as irresponsibly as he did? Unacceptable! Harley's full story arc is very disappointing, and the fact that they decided to rewrite her origin story and give her a different personality doesn't really make me want to forget how they disappointed us without following the Harley / Joker story to some logical conclusion. If you join a mentally ill person and help that person commit crime, you are responsible, and in the comics, Joker has been proven legally insane over and over again. That's why he never ends up in Blackgate. All of Batman's main rogues suffer from some sort of apparently incurable mental illness, and the Joker is no exception. I get that these are just comics, but if you took a look at the real world and saw how mentally ill people are persecuted, you might see where I'm coming from. They're treated like monsters because people don't take the time to understand them. Like I said, though, I don't think DC Comics cares. They're willing to give normal women and whatever proper representation, but they're still willing to portray mentally ill people as monsters. I get that they've created some minor characters, like James Gordon Jr. who are supposed to be mentally ill, but the Joker is the most famous crazy villain Batman has, and instead of developing the character, they decided to take him all the way back and turn him into a monster, even going so far as to separate him from Harley, the one character who brought out his human side. I don't understand why they chose to do that. You can say it was an abusive relationship all you want. That does not negate that Harley was the sane one and willfully chose to participate. It also doesn't negate that the Joker probably wasn't even consciously abusive toward her--I'm not counting the new 52. The new 52 turned the Joker and everyone affiliated with him into cold-hearted monsters, and so far that's been really disappointing. I definitely don't need to see Batman's complex world through his hyper moralistic tunnel vision. Sure, I've heard that comics are supposed to have some kind of "deeper meaning" but I'm not sure I'm smart enough to figure all of the symbolism out without a little help. I'm not trying to be rude, but I read the comic book where Harley kidnaps family of one of her patients, but it happens AFTER she became Harley Quinn. Not when she was still normal. She was trying to get over Joker so she thought that it would be a good idea to start working again. She gets the job in the retirement home but she forgets to read her patient's files and when she tells her that he family doesn't care about her she kidnaps them and threatens them actually slapping them with a tennis rocket(?). Then they tell her how it really is and she just walks away with nothing but 'Oops. Well be nice to her anyway.' I didn't mean to be rude, I just wanted to point this out. I love how Harley slit his throat. I feel like it was almost her realizing, in one terrifying moment, that the Joker, now being married to her, will torture and abuse her for her whole life. So, in a spurt of terror, she kills him.

Let's go over a few things, shall we?
1. "Her other half"? "Been by her side the entire time"? He literally tried to kill her multiple times and abused her horribly both physically and emotionally and I'm glad she killed him/bit off his lip/threatened to shoot him in the face. He deserved it. All of it. Literally everything.
2. She didn't get kicked out of hell for being too terrible for even hell to deal with. She got kicked out because she kept trying to make things better for the people in hell and that was the exact opposite of what hell was about.
2. Throwing rocks and ONE boy holding a gun does not a child army make. Furthermore, there's no proof the kids Harley spoke to and the kids that attacked the Suicide Squad were the same kids, especially considering that the children Harley was locked up with were HORRIFIED by her slaughter. Conclusion: she didn't train a child army of serial killers, inadvertently or no.
3. Harley threw Joker's Daughter into a PARKED car. JD took the fight into traffic. Even then, Harley wasn't fighting her to fight her, she was trying to get her to see that the Joker was NOT someone to emulate and felt violence would be the only way to get through to her, which was a good call on her part because otherwise JD would've passed off anything Harley said as her being weak.
4. You added her fighting/killing her abusive (ex)boyfriend, but fail to mention the time she LET A SMALL GIRL WHO TRUSTED HER GO BLIND SO HARLEY COULD GET A FUCKTON OF MONEY. You know, that thing that triggered a PSYCHOTIC BREAK THAT MADE HER TURN HERSELF IN TO ARKHAM. (Harley Quinn, Vengeance Unlimited)

Honestly you can like a character that has done bad things but one thing I hate with some people is when they try to make a character with bad history seem like a perfect little angel for some stupid reason like Harley, Deadpool or Poison Ivy. I remember during the time Deadpool came out and people learned he was demisexual or something that someone made a post explaining all the good things he has done and how he's a perfect little angel, all I can recall is that he kidnapped a blind old woman and abused her to the point she's legitimately afraid for her life, how he made a guy relapse into insanity for a joke and mocked a dude for being hunchback but yeah, he's such a good person..I've seen a similar thing for Poison Ivy, the chick who forcefully mind controls men as slaves and wants to kill all human beings due to her obsession with plants, but it's okay because she's a lesbian and she has been through sexual abuse so that eliminates her vast amounts of sins. Maybe I'm just sensitive to these sorts of issues because I hate it when mentally ill people get treated like dirt, but I feel like a doctor running off with her mentally ill patient, like in Harley's case, would mean the doctor was at fault, because she took advantage of a vulnerable situation. Stockholm Syndrome is possible to be had on both sides, and Florence Nightingale Syndrome is a real thing, too. It doesn't matter what happened after that or how badly the Joker treated her. I can't get past that she was put in charge of caring for him, and she basically betrayed him by trying to take advantage of him, and now she's being hailed as a hero! It's a very very disappointing story that basically says that if you are mentally ill you are worthless unless you can meet certain of society's odd expectations, like in Harley's case.
The fact that she's now viewed as some kind of hero because she basically caused him more emotional abuse is disgusting to me! If this happened in real life I would want that doctor prosecuted and punished. Harley was an odd character, because, like I said, she basically started out as a "Joker groupie" and was used to bring out the character's more sensitive side. I could forgive her for "taking advantage" of her patient, as long as she loved him and it came from a place of concern, but turning tail and leaving him after she acted as irresponsibly as he did? Unacceptable!
Harley's full story arc is very disappointing, and the fact that they decided to rewrite her origin story and give her a different personality doesn't really make me want to forget how they disappointed us without following the Harley / Joker story to some logical conclusion. If you join a mentally ill person and help that person commit crime, you are responsible, and in the comics, Joker has been proven legally insane over and over again. That's why he never ends up in Blackgate. All of Batman's main rogues suffer from some sort of apparently incurable mental illness, and the Joker is no exception.
I get that these are just comics, but if you took a look at the real world and saw how mentally ill people are persecuted, you might see where I'm coming from. They're treated like monsters because people don't take the time to understand them. Like I said, though, I don't think DC Comics cares. They're willing to give normal women and whatever proper representation, but they're still willing to portray mentally ill people as monsters. I get that they've created some minor characters, like James Gordon Jr. who are supposed to be mentally ill, but the Joker is the most famous crazy villain Batman has, and instead of developing the character, they decided to take him all the way back and turn him into a monster, even going so far as to separate him from Harley, the one character who brought out his human side. I don't understand why they chose to do that.
You can say it was an abusive relationship all you want. That does not negate that Harley was the sane one and willfully chose to participate. It also doesn't negate that the Joker probably wasn't even consciously abusive toward her--I'm not counting the new 52. The new 52 turned the Joker and everyone affiliated with him into cold-hearted monsters, and so far that's been really disappointing. I definitely don't need to see Batman's complex world through his hyper moralistic tunnel vision.
Sure, I've heard that comics are supposed to have some kind of "deeper meaning" but I'm not sure I'm smart enough to figure all of the symbolism out without a little help. All I see is someone perpetuating stereotypes that should have been killed twenty or more years ago, like crazy people are dangerous. Way to go, comic book industry!

I'm not trying to be rude, but I read the comic book where Harley kidnaps family of one of her patients, but it happens AFTER she became Harley Quinn. Not when she was still normal. She was trying to get over Joker so she thought that it would be a good idea to start working again. She gets the job in the retirement home but she forgets to read her patient's files and when she tells her that he family doesn't care about her she kidnaps them and threatens them actually slapping them with a tennis rocket(?). Then they tell her how it really is and she just walks away with nothing but 'Oops. Well be nice to her anyway.' I didn't mean to be rude, I just wanted to point this out.
