As a camaro owner, it’s always been known that American muscle will offer you similar if not better acceleration than European cars. Today, the camaro, corvette and some mustang models will offer similar if not better performance (handling, braking, power). But you will not get the same build quality, quality of materials. This has always been this way for a long time (edit, the cheaper materials and less build quality has always been this way, so has power/acceleration) but more recently has American sports cars/muscle cars become more competitive with overall performance.

The Zl1 camaro is one of the best camaros ever made the autos fun because it's more quick but the manual version is also fun because the fun part of the camaro is the manual gearbox

The speedo is the same one as the used in the US market for MPH. It's the same scale as it would be in MPH but the needle is now mapped to kmh (so instead of it topping at 200mph the needle tops at 200kmh). My guess is a cost thing so they don't have to produce two separate parts for imperial and metric markets.
I'm guessing since it was already on mph, there wouldn't have been enough space to squeeze kmh on the smaller ring under mph. The solution would have been to go digital from the start so it can be configured either way.

Stock whp on my '17 ZL1 10sp baseline was 516, bolton mods bumped it to 648. Ditching that 1.7 stock crap supercharger and replaced it with a whipple 2.9... Drastic change to say the least. It's a true 200mph car, I can't verify that but at 180 it's stable and still pulling.
When he pushed it for a little while it hit 259kmh easily. If he stayed on it for just a little longer. Probably would have made 200mph. I don't know kmh so..... Anyhow how do you say bad-ass in German?

@@gpdu57 A supercharger can have flutter, in the end, they work in the same way, they force air into an engine, the flutter from a turbo comes from the BOV so if your supercharged car has one then you'll have the flutter

Nothing wrong with that transmission, it's a 10 speed automatic that actually shifts quite quick and smooth. It handles the power really well and keeps it in optimal rev range throughout the pull. That transmission is one of the best pieces of engineering GM has come up with in quite a while. Even the very best driver with a manual version could not keep up with the speed of the 10 speed automatic.
@@jesuschrist2287 the "fixed" speedometer that reads 200 is in MPH as the car is imported from the US. The digital speedometer can be switched to KPH as is the case in this video. Since Americans don't use KPH it doesn't make sense for the cars to include KPH on the "fixed" speedometer. I had a 2017 Camaro SS European version and the fixed speedometer read 330 KPH. Hope that helps?
…no? He went to 260km/h and yes, the speedometer on the car goes to maximum 200 but that doesn’t mean the car can’t go faster. A lot of cars have the speedo that goes to like 260 km/h but the car actually runs at max 200. It depends on the engine, not the speedo.

Personal opinion, a supercharger sounds nicer in most cases, but I prefer the sound of a really nice turbo flutter.
