    In the 80s black action semi autos were predominant. Today I don't think they are anymore, which is a shame. Black action shotguns are very discreet in the field

    Not classy not horrible- wtf, nice display of the shotgun but really. This is a precision made shotgun that will last forever and shoots so smooth. I own the A400 lite and it too shoots soo smoothly even with 3 “ shells hunting ducks n geese here in Katy Texas. I own 3 Berettas and they all perform perfectly every time. I have killed so many clays and birds. Every time I go hunting with my buddies, I always shoot perfectly and bring home wonderful game. I know how to cook these wild ducks n geese and they make a succulent meal. Meals fit for Kings 😊

    I fire everything through my 20bore one, cheap 21 gram 1200fps loads and expensive 34 gram 1450fps loads, 500 shells through it thus far, not a single malfunction or jam. Also you can get 4 shells in the 2+1 version ;)

    I purchased this beretta yesterday, I’m super excited about getting it but since I live in California I still have to wait 8 days 17 hours 23 min before can actually pick it up. Anyways I wanted an over and under but then I thought to myself for the money would I rather have a very basic, very plain over/ under or a badass semi auto. I have a feeling I’m going to love this one ☺️

      You were right ... I had a Benelli Performance Shop Super Sport for 5 years. I "thought" an OU would be better so, I bought a nice Beretta 694 OU and after a while, realized the Semi-auto was just more enjoyable to shoot.

    I have 2 different Beretta's both with Gun Pod's My A400 Xcel KO competition gun ( bright blue action ) has a Gun pod 1 which is a bit of a fun , it does work but is not necessary .I believe the GP1 is no longer available . My A400 Light KO is fitted with a Gun Pod 2 and is a total waste of time and money in my humble opinion . I believe anything added to a gun should benefit the shooter and help shoot more birds , these don't.
    I have had a total replacement , titanium, of my right shoulder and the different recoil reducing parts on both guns . pad , kick off , barrel etc all contribute to allow me to keep clay target and game bird shooting,3" steel loads inc, without pain or damage, Well done Beretta on that .

      Gun pod's a shooting computer that can be fitted in the bottom of the grip - counts your total rounds fired like a car's odometer and, I think, ambient temperature. Maybe a few other things as well.

Maybe ‘cos I’m a Brit, maybe because you gave high marks to my two guns (this is one of them, the other is a CG Invictus Sporter), but I find all of them informative and yet entertaining. I'm looking at semi auto shotguns now. Was thinking a Benelli but then I shot my cousins m4 though bad a$$ it's a little over priced for what you get IMO. I currently own a Mossberg 590 and a Remington 870. Great pump guns. Looking to expand my collection into semi auto shotguns and so far besides the Benelli m4 a Mossberg 930 and a Remington 1187 I have little experience with semi auto shotguns. I really like the Benelli's but like I said a bit pricey for what you getting, that's just my opinion. As I understand it the Beretta is basically the poor man's Benelli (😂😂😂) except for gas system Benelli being inertia driven Beretta being gas Driven.
    Anyway my question is what's the big differences between the Beretta A300 A350 A400 & 1301? Mainly differences in operating systems design features specified targeted uses or main differences amongst them.

    • @joaolitos
      @joaolitos 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @smith, Beretta owns the Benelli company. Soo... Beretta's or Benelli, it's just a matter of taste.

  • @biagiocozza8875
    @biagiocozza8875 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Great video Johnny. The A400 is a fantastic gun. But you are right, that bolt handle is quite an eye sore. Wish Beretta came out with something a little more stylish. Even the bolt release is quite ugly. I swapped mine out for Briley bolt handle and bolt release, and it came with a lighter screw knob, to bring the weight balance a bit further back.

    • @ronaldjohnson1474
      @ronaldjohnson1474 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The extended bolt handle is for ease of use on cold days with heavy gloves. A hunter's dream, it's VERY practical.

    I've been shooting for a couple of years now with my grandad and I'm only 14 but I was wondering if you could tell me your personal choices on a reliable, o/u and semi-automatic shotgun for under about £500-600 I have a job and would love to have a shotgun of my own but unfortunately I can't get a license yet. So what would your choices be? Thanks.

    • @HJDore
      @HJDore 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      CottonyDock 9 good luck finding an over under for 500, first shooting is in no way a cheap sport, second the price of over unders has skyrocketed due to their popularity, thirdly, yes its probably better to look at getting a semi auto now before it goes the same way as o/u’s

    • @pargatsinghlives
      @pargatsinghlives 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Cottonydock9 not sure if you've already gotten a new clay gun but I got a Tristar Setter 28" in 12 ga. its not the coolest gun on the range but it was about 550 USD out the door (including delivery and all the associated fees) and after breaking in the action a little bit it feels quite good. I'm new to the sport so not sure how much weight my opinion should carry but if you want a low priced O/U you should look into one of those. It seems fairly reliable and i'm sure a better shooter than me would be able to shoot a better average with it :)

    • @orion7873
      @orion7873 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I bet if your ask Grandad nicely, he'd be happy to get you one... But first, try to shoot as many different guns as possible. Anytime you have an opportunity to shoot a different gun, do so. Thats how you figure out what is "the best".
      A lot of guys in forums / comments sections will say "my xxxxx brand of shotgun is the best" ... and yet, it's literally the only shotgun they've ever fired.

    I enjoy your reviews. Is there a noticeable difference to the recoil when the "KO" system is added? My only shot gun is a 30" sxs & as much as I like it I was looking to reduce recoil. I have shot a 20g Browning semi-auto to get a feel for sa guns & frankly didn't care for it. I would like to diversify my shotgun collection & the KO might seal-the-deal if you tell me the recoil is reduced on the a400. Ty in advance.

    • @jayprejean4136
      @jayprejean4136 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      David Weinberg the kick-off system makes a huge difference in recoil. I have had shoulder surgery and have no problem shooting my A400. Compared to my Benelli Sport II it shoots much softer.

    • @davidw3089
      @davidw3089 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jay Prejean Ty. Are there any differences between the Xcel Black Edition & the Xtreme Synthetic Black other then syn v wood & color? Would there be any significant difference when used exclusively for clays?

    • @jayprejean4136
      @jayprejean4136 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      David Weinberg synthetic is geared more towards all-weather hunting and a rugged finish and the black editions are designed more towards sporting clays with porting added to the barrel and improved aesthetics. I have the bronze edition which I love for hunting and am thinking of adding a black down the line for a dedicated clay gun

    Did anyone else observe the gauling on the steel (alloy?) inside the receiver. Plastic cap and tip? 👎🏼 A burned open pore stock and forearm. No thank you. This is a very inexpensive version of the “tactical” shotgun they developed. The responses from the three gun shooters after a year or two will give a better evaluation of this shotgun. I will say that it isn’t bad, but it isn’t very good either given the cost.
