    As a new Clay Pigeon shooter I've found these videos very Informative. Think you should revisit your one on Gun Fit as you both looked as if you felt awkward. Much more relaxed style now. Also good to know the prices ( You mentioned it on this one but some of the others you haven't )

    I really appreciate your videos. Was leaning towards a silver pigeon until I saw the beretta "black" guns. The simplicity in looks and lack of engraving/embellishment is actually what appealed to me over the SP. I too, really wanted the 692 black; but in my neck if the woods...it was about 3k more than the 690. Big B's price structure doesn't really seem scalable in terms of what you got for the increase in price to me.

    I'd be curious to see TGS break down the differences of a 686, 690 and 692 action. I gather the 690 is not a 686 inside, but not quite a 692 either.

    Had my name on a 686 silver pigeon. When it came in so did a 690 black. Now I’m not sure if I should skip the 686 and upgrade to the 690.
    Mostly used for shooting clays with a few trips a year to the pheasant fields.

    Didn't realise the spring in the forend kept the action tight. I was hoping it would loosen off a bit with time as it is quite stiff when opening. Shame it's not adjustable.

    • @tgsoutdoors
      @tgsoutdoors  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Juniper Bush it just makes the action feel tight. It will loosen off as you shoot it but will never just flop open like a well used 686

    I am most certainly NOT a fan of these tensioning systems being introduced. I remember how my 686 was when I furst purchased it, I had to put the barrel behind my knee to get enough leverage to get it open. BTW, I am 65 years old and can bench press 160 US pounds, so strength isn't an issue. My 686 was super tight out of the box and it didn't help I was recovering from a
    Mitral Valve repair. Now after 2 years of shooting between 75 and 200 rounds per weekend for 2 years my 686 is finally getting a bit loose. I also have a 1992 vintage Browning Citori Sporting Clays Edition that was purchased used and saw a lot of use on the Skeet fields because among the 14 chokes that came with the gun there were 8 skeet chokes. That one will just fall open when you hit the lever and it only takes a small lift to provide enough inertia to cock the hammers. After my open heart surgery when I was still getting back into shape that Browning was an absolute joy to shoot.
    Point is that Gun Shop personnel who sell new guns for a living may want nice and tight actions but those who actually shoot in competition want an action that is easy to operate and does NOT rattle. BTW, that fall open Browning doesn't rattle at all, the lock up is rock solid. As for my 686, it's getting there. I'll also note that it is quite pretty with it's new/old spare 682 Gold E adjustable comb stock.

    I've heard some reliability concerns around these lately, but it sounds like the action is relatively identical to what Beretta has done for a long time. Have you heard anything about issues with these? Thinking about a Citori instead because of these rumors.

    I sadly made the mistake of buying this gun, I take great pride in my guns and always use the Legia spray. After 9 months and 2500 cartridges this gun looked 3 years old as the black finish was very worn. Beretta’s answer was not to use that spray!!! I do notice that the 692 appears to use a different finish ????

    Hi. Do You know what are the main differences between 690 and 686 silver pigeon. Barells and trigger are the same?

    • @tgsoutdoors
      @tgsoutdoors  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Theya re very similar, but the slight redesign has made the internals a little more crisp. The trigger is a littel better, the barrel tubes are 'more advanced' and do pattern well, but like all shotgun barrels, they are essentially just tubes, however they are a little lighter than the 686's. The dimensions of the action are deeper and wider than the 686.

      I’m torn between the 686 sporting and the 690 Black, but I cannot get my hands on the 690. The specs look good on the 690, but is it worth the extra $500? Will make a difference for the clay shooting game?

    For a first time O/U Sporting Clays Newbie, would recommend the 686, 690, or Browning Citori 725? Or maybe the Fabarm Elos N2!!?? I’m shorter at 5’-6” and I really like the looks & feel of the 686, while the Browning feels hearty kind of chunky to me.
    I can’t pick up a 690 or Elos N2 to try them out, but are these worth the extra cost over the 686?
    I don’t care for the plainness of the 690, but it is a Sporting Clays gun.
    Out of the 4 I mentioned, which would recommend mostly?
    Just by specs and reading I really like the Fabarm or the 686, but I have no idea. Please help. Thank you.

    • @tgsoutdoors
      @tgsoutdoors  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      What sort of level is it for? What guns have you shot and enjoyed so far?
      the 690 is a much more planted gun - especially in the adjustable comb, so the 690 sport scroll adjustable would be my gun of choice out of the lot you have stated - that said the 686 sport adjustable is a very close second.

    Caesar Guerini Summit Black vs 690 Black ? Which one will be better in terms of build quality , handling, trigger ?

    • @tgsoutdoors
      @tgsoutdoors  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are very similar in terms of the overall build quality. However i would compare the Caesar almost to a 692 in terms of handling etc. The Caesar Guerini however has the nicer overall finish and aesthetics. 690 possibly easier to service / longevity but it is a close call.

    • @martynissitt2693
      @martynissitt2693 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Łukasz Bradło having had both please buy the Summit black, the Beretta’s finish in comparison is piss poor, with the Caesar you will not only feel like a god ,but will shoot like a god. Would recommend out get the adjustable comb as it makes the gun even better...buy and enjoy, but forgetta the Beretta..

One question I have is, as I watch your videos I see that in the background on the wall of your shop there are several pistols? Being from the US I was under the impression that pistols were not allowed? Could you shed some light on that? Thanks again keep up the great work.
