- Dec 4, 2008 Tilicho Lake side trip (3 days) from Manang, overnighting 2 nights at Tilicho Base Camp Hotel then returning via ridge trail directly to Yak Kharka. If you fear narrow trails, landslide areas and some exposure, don't do this, otherwise it is a highly recommended side trip when doing the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal. Plus good acclimatazation opportunity in preparation for the Throng La. MUSIC- Paul Fisher, Verse of Dharma Blossom.

Hi Fantastic video with excellent music- October 2013 - 6 of us trekked the Annapurna circuit but before we left Australia we viewed your video and decided to extended our circuit trek by 3 days from Manang with Mountain Monarch trekking company from Nepal to go up to Tilicho Lake. After watching your video we thought we were prepared for the Avalanche area however you have to actually walk the area to really experience the (2hrs) stunning, beautiful and at times frightening path to Tilicho base camp. The base camp now has an extra lodge as the area is becoming popular. The trek up to Tilicho Lake was again stunning and breathtaking with unforgettable views and coming from Australia where we don't get the chance all that often to trek through snow which was a real highlight for us all and an experience that we will never forget. The lake has now a small tea house built near the prey flags. If anyone is thinking about trekking the Annapurna circuit we would highly recommend to have the 3 day extension from Manang and go to Tilicho Lake where you will be rewarded with lifetime memories of this stunning area. Back in Australia now and our group still watches your video where it brings back special memories of our trek and in particular over the Avalanche area and the lake so again thank you for inspiring us with your video. Thanks for the kind words - HA, we just returned from Australia and NZ (4 months total!) and had a wonderful time in both countries. Yes, Tilicho Lake should be a mandatory side trip on any Annapurna Circuit itinerary. Glad you had good weather and enjoyed the journey.

I went to Lake Tilicho in Oct 2010. Since I went by myself, I have only still pictures of the trail. Looking at this video brought back brilliant memories. There is a small tea shop by the lake now, where I had cheese-Maggi... Best meal of my life :)

Do you even know that the place he is showing in the video most probably has more Buddhist than Hindu.. That's the land of sherpa.. and sherpas are usually Buddhist.. so the song goes really well with the video.. Good Job Uploader..

Hi! Great video! Not sure if it put my wife more at ease or scared her but it sure convinced me that I should go! :) We're heading to Tilicho Lake in about two weeks weather permitting. Does anybody know if the Tilicho Base Camp Hotel is open this time of year? We are not intending to take a tent so the only way to attempt this is to stay at the Base Camp Hotel and day trip to the lake and back... All comments appreciated :) Thanks!

I really want you to do trek to RARA lake situated in mugu, Nepal. It is situated in between mountains and known for heart shape and three times changing colours a day. Absolute beauty and peaceful. You can enjoy breath taking views of mountain range and its shadow in lake.

Honestly, this trek is fairly simple, just be careful, especially you have porters carry your stuffs. I just came back from Annapurna Circuit last week. I was alone most of the time...

You should read the entire paragraph above. The entire trip was three days. First day, Manang to TBC, Day two - up to the lake and back to TBC and day three, TBC to Yak Kharka.
Once in life have to go in this wonderful place of the world.

+Lost In Sirmaur Sadly, there is now a jeep road from Besisahar to Chame and maybe now all the way to Manang. They built the road right over the original trekking trail. Trekking is not as enjoyable anymore. But, from Manang to Tilicho Lake it is still very wild and open, with no roads!

Tilicho lake is one of the highest lakes in the world. It is 4,919 m high in the Annapurna range of the Himalayas in Manang district of Nepal. Another source lists Lake Tilicho as being 4,949 meters high (16,237 feet)
The finest challenging trek in the Annapurna region, our innovative itinerary has all the makings of a classic. We follow remote trails leading through secluded villages and camp in magnificent locations beneath an awesome backdrop of peaks. We traverse to the south of the Annapurna Range, where we ascend through conifer forests and cross pristine alpine meadows gaining spectacular mountain views (from Manaslu to Dhaulagiri). We enter the spectacular Nar region and traverse around the ice bound Tilicho Lake before crossing the Mesokantu Pass, bringing us into the very heart of the Annapurna.
