The dedication to setup the camera and then proceed to walk xxx meter and then go back to pick it up to do it all over again is impressive and your hike is almost doubled!
The extra walk to set up the camera and then go back definitely adds about 20% more to the hike :D But when I’m hiking alone, I have plenty of time, so it’s fun, and it’s great to have a film at the end.

After your compulsory photo with the statue, if you double-back on yourself down the main road you'll come to a small Tesco Express supermarket for some groceries & right outside is the taxi parking point. You can go back on yourself to Glen Nevis camp-site (no pre-booking needed...they never turn a WHW hiker away), then in the morning you're spitting distance from the start of Ben Nevis. Hope you both have an amazing time...!

A stunningly beautiful video and a great representation of the Annapurna Circuit. I revisited the ACT in 2022 after an absence of over 30 years, and this video has all the feel of my early 90’s trek. This is a really good video. Congratulations on doing the real thing, and walking it. I first did the full circuit in 1987, starting in Dhunche and ending right in Pokhara. Then it took about 23 days. I've been back numerous times, most recently last year where we did the Mardi Himal trek. I understand progress, although cars in Muktinath was upsetting to me at first.....

Personally, I used the New Annapurna Trekking Trails (NATT-Trails) for almost the entire trek, but I can't imagine doing the trek on the roads.

Nice!! I am also a solo trekker and have completed Annapurna Circuit and Makalu Base Camp (first trek). I also got my Basic Mountaineering Certification last year in India. This October 2024 I'll be going for Dhaulagiri Circuit.
Thank you for your time. I was very surprised that there was so little snow on the Thorong La. It must have been an amazing experience to have done the trek 40 years ago without gps etc. was it possible to do it solo?
@@justas_hikes we were three friends, who did the walk - without GPS , the infrastructure was very basic then but there was everything needed (roof over the head and food)

Nice!! I am also a solo trekker and have completed Annapurna Circuit and Makalu Base Camp (first trek). I also got my Basic Mountaineering Certification last year in India. This October 2024 I'll be going for Dhaulagiri Circuit.

Thank you for your time. I was very surprised that there was so little snow on the Thorong La. It must have been an amazing experience to have done the trek 40 years ago without gps etc. was it possible to do it solo?
@@justas_hikes we were three friends, who did the walk - without GPS , the infrastructure was very basic then but there was everything needed (roof over the head and food)
