They started off as janky Zelda wannabe obstacles, but by now they've become some of the most epic, cinematic, and memorable bossfights of their respective games. Glad they didn't give up on the concept after the initial failures.
For real. I played Demon Souls for the first time a few months ago and there were so many bad gimmicky fights (Dragon God, Astraea, Storm King) that I felt they ran out of ideas for boss fights halfway through desing, but they were able to stick to it through the years. Every game they improved the spectacle of the fights and it shows that they care about the player having a "HOLY SHIT" moment.
@@fabianpino4910Astrea is not a bad gimmick fight at all. By Miyazaki’s words, they wanted each boss fight to be a different challenge to the player more than straight combat, like Fool’s Idol, Armor Spider, Astrea. While Dragon God is a miss, each fight in Demon’s Souls was focused on having the player think about how to deal with these demons, like how the Old Hero can be trivialized via Thief’s Ring. Later gimmick fights (with the exception of Micolash) became focused on combat and roll timing just like the others even with the unique weapons. Doesn’t mean they are great anymore, but I think credit is due to how much Demon’s Souls wanted to feel more experimental.

Coolest moments in the game. Rusty is a bad dude.
I usually play japanese games in japanese with the subs but Armored Core XI definitely was the game to break that for me, I love the english VA's so much.
I love the dialogue that happens during combat, but I'm usually trying desperately to not die so I have to come to TH-cam to see what it was that I missed.
I always record my winning fights so i can watch um back later to actually experience the scene rather than just crunch bones
@@willvermillion1025 You can do that? Where is that option?
@@billybegood466 on PlayStation and xboxs its a button on your controller; on pc it’s in whatever software you run like nvidia.
@@billybegood466Probably using third party apps. I myself using Nvidia shadowplay to record last 5 minute of my gameplay. Just press the shortcut and the clip is saved.
@@billybegood466 what console/system? Ps5 had share feature.
Rusty is HIM
Michigan and rusty are the best
God damnit Rusty at least buy me dinner first
bro is accounting for the curvature of the earth too
Curvature or Rubicon*
How do we know Rubicon isn't flat?
Bro? I'm pretty sure all that would be handled by the computer
@@mkzhero"Sighting correction A-okay" He was at least aiming the thing so it's not too out there to assume he was doing the whole thing by eye, the weapon had just been built after all
@@exzyyd392 dude there's no way it's an optical sight over a complex digital system or even remote one, even the curvature of the planet would get in the way of that stuff at those distances to the point you'd not even see anything
Rusty has very quickly become one of my all timr favourite npc's
Bro has one of the coldest linesi ever heard and man I really wish that in his last shot he says something like "one in the chamber" and blast the worm
Rusty is easily in the top ten of best Armored Core characters.
Just played this mission yesterday, and that voice line gave me goose bumps.
This is how you makes an iconic moment. The buildup is amezing
If only it was Rusty taking the shot today...
At least you won't miss the shot when you are about to join the 41%
@@李飛飛大燒B wow how original
This has become my mantra when im flying an instrument approach, lol I’ll get nervous on a flight and I just repeat to myself, “I won’t miss”
Going back to replay this mission tonight!!!
Buddy you just created a legendary video
I won't miss...
he looks like a sunrise when firing the railcannon
and then has mech parts and an entire song dedicated to him being the “dawn”
This moment is so masterfully done. The music cuts off as he says “I won’t miss”, and then BAM. And the music picks back up. So epic.
And I almost ran out of ammo with the needle gun...
love the way the comms distort as the cannon powers up. sound design in this game is on another level
this has to be my favorite fromsoft boss ever hands down
Say what you will; Rusty is one of the best wingmen ever.
One of the most epic things ever
that moment... THAT MOMENT is remind me of evangelion ramiel fight man.. im thrilled
We need a mod to make him miss 😂
And.. I wonder what Rusty's end of mission Ammunition pay reduction was lol
"So, uh... yeah that's three electromagnetic slugs each the size of a house, that'll be 9,000,000 COAM please"
Does anyone else hear "and I won't miss?" Regardless, what a badass moment.
the sound design is insane
I really like his second shot line "watch out for friendly fire"
"I won't miss" HOLY WHAT A GIGACHAD
"All of nothin"
