This song is a masterpiece, after playing AC4a I've become an addict & bought AC4. I survived the lynx war, now I've ordered the PS2 games. I can't wait to see how the story has developed.
Armored Core shares a decent amount of DNA with soulsborne games. It has the same crazy depth with stats and builds, but it’s more of a mission-based action game than an open world (or semi-open world) action RPG. It’s a series that would especially appeal to gearheads because you will spend a lot of time in the garage menus tinkering with your builds.
Anytime I look at the picture of this song, I can just feel the pure raw energy of White Glint, the power a single NEXT has over a large-scaled battlefield.
You can really hear the joint influences in this piece the composer drew from. Notably the grungy, smashed-into-the-wall guitar rage they mastered with the Metal Wolf Chaos OST. Give "Metal Fighter" from MWC a listen and you'll hear it too. The auric choir vocals were a mastered technique from Armored Core 3: Silent Line. Seeing this, hearing this all come together as the composer aged and grew more experienced... feels right at home in a game where we ourselves finally got to pilot NEXTs. Our machines and music grew up together.
I will always love Hoshino's music even from back when he didn't know music theory at all. Evergrace's OST is beautiful, and i won't ever change my mind.
@@April480p Did he actually not know music theory or is this a case of people throwing around "not knowing music theory" on composers who are self taught. I've seen people say this a lot but usually when you actually analyse the composers in question they seem to know quite a bit of music theory. A lot of big composers are self taught and don't know how to read sheet music and a lot self taught composers starting off also make very generic music. I've seen people say "Kota Hoshino's music sounds interesting because he is self taught and doesn't know how to read sheet music" and I almost feel like that undermines him. As for evergrace, that's definitely not the result of lack of music theory. But you can tell it's one of his earliest instances of singing himself and utilising acoustic instruments. Though he was still shredding the bass guitar back then, listen to "truth crystal" from evergrace 2.
It's the most popular in the series now, no only this version, but Reprise, Mechanized Memories and Remember in the End have the most views in the franchise.
Indeed, read it at numerous game news sources. Red Liquorice has supposedly leaked some info about a potential teaser. He also said something about a white mech.. all those silly legends.

6 is a pretty good start. it doesn't have a lot of the stuff that the older games had(shoulder equipment vs shoulder weapons), but it still has a lot of the core elements and gameplay
I was talking about "now", since they aren't currently making any Souls games. Besides two or three (if you count Bloodborne) games really don't sound like "riding the hype train to death".
Oh hey another person who wants Armored Souls. When DS II came out I remember dreaming that maybe they should do that. We need Armored Souls, then we could have insane Russians with Moonlight blades, and Otsdarvas with Sunlight spears.
You are either remember as a mass murder by the rest of humanity that has survived your wrath. Or You are remembered as someone trying to be a noble hero stopping a great threat. Either way Humanity was a bit screwed but the second part leads to less deaths due to the ending. Never played the game but heard about them.
You know what, I'm pissed off enough to make this argument. I think strayed had good motives to do that. If you think about it for more than two seconds you realize it was the only realistic solution to what was going on. ORCA was to reliant on the assumption of the closed plan that space colonization was going to work at all.
So just finished my first play through of 4A on my ps3. After AC6 it’s a totally different feel and I love it. I can see why people argue it’s the best AC game. Finish up the other endings then onto VD!

Ive been missing out, and its time to go back and play the others
+mikedawgx01 It sucks you've lost taste I love this song as much as I did when I first heard it. I still have the Armored Core spirit and wish they would make another Armored Core game, especially one similar looking to Armored Core for answers with Mech's of the likeness thereof, but with the ARMORED CORE VERDICT DAY online system and match making modes.
Oddy Chanz ライトニング It's much more a matter of "I have to do stupid adult things instead of playing video games, these days" Though, you will be glad to heas that Fromsoftware said that they'll be taking a break from Dark Souls to work on more Armored Core.
mikedawgx01 They said they wore done with the Dark Souls series.. But as I recall they did not give out specifics of which games they was working on, it was more of a hint but not telling us anything that can lead us to a solid conclusion of what these other games might be. Some assume it's another Armored Core game and I hope it is, but I'd rather not expect something we are not getting. I really hope they take advantage of the new PS4 model coming out as well. Super HD on a Armored Core would be nice but considering graphics in their past Armored Core games wore average we cannot expect that either. Unfortunately the Armored Core series always had a barrier that keeps them from scoring a 10/10 They barely get above average which each game considering their track record they're probably never going to reach that point where that one of their AC games will be on point with each core features being rated anything higher than a 8. I know they're more capable of more than their current presentation of AC games but I just don't think they trust themselves enough to push it to the limit.
I agree. AC has always had a high entry-barrier, whether it be due to the level of customization available, the sheer amount of unlocking needed to gain access to all the parts, or just flat out learning an unfamiliar control scheme. I still recall picking up my first AC, and I can almost guarantee that I would not have become a fan of the series if I didn't copy my friend's completed game save (bc I was so bad at playing in the beginning, I couldn't get very far into the campaign to unlock enough parts). It would be a departure from AC tradition, but I think it would serve the next game well to just make a majority (if not all) of the parts available in the shop from the start; and give the player the choice of chassis (like in AC4) or better yet, give them a starting budget to build their own Core from scratch. Of course, said budget would have to be enough to construct a variety of builds. This would give new players the much desired taste for free-form customization that the series has always been praised for. After that, all I hope is that the next AC game will have as interesting a world as the AC3-ACLR era did, great gameplay, and for The Controller's sake, some color and texture to the environment would be nice. It's about damn time Armored Core returned with a *great* game.
Minagi Jun The reason some items wore locked off and even not in shop for the simple fact, when rising in rank or accomplishing a very difficult task must come with it's rewards. If parts are not locked off through the rewarding system what is the point of ascending above other's ? there is no reward for dedication which kills the people who work hard and get no bonuses for it. It may not seem favorable to you, but if the new comers at the gate can obtain what the experts have it would be somewhat a kill joy for the people who have worked hard to get where they are. Not only that it would make it harder to read what type of enemy you're going up against. People can read their opponents based on their parts and know how to devise a strategy against them.
Amazing soundtrack!, i miss this game so much, best Mech game i played and very enjoyable, Fighting Online was great fun. white glint is definitely the most badass Mech there is, just 'Remember' that
I recently got into armored Core and found this music cause I'm looking into the other games and this has the most views and it's beautiful for a dark reason I now know
the last quarter of the song has this straining almost coil hum kind of quality to it, like a battle thats reaching a tiring end... man what a great song
If only she knew that a few hundred years later that the radiation would catch up with the Cradles, and causing more death than the Closed Plan could have caused. The ORCA ending is really the only good ending in this game.
Destroying a few cradles was a better plan. Orca sending newborns and weak-lunged people to other places and sinking Cradle 21 and a few others could save them from the gas.
When considering that newborns and others on the cradles would suffer from the radiation on the surface should the closed plan be done, destroying the cradles would be more of a mercy kill for them. Love how the endings in For Answer don't come off as which is good despite whatever music they use. Plus, at least the path with Old King makes you a bad-ass when considering you fight four (or five if doing hard mode) pilots.
Rue Ryuzaki Considering what the game is going by. The ORCA ending kinda makes you wonder if it even is such a good thing. Humanity survives, but they carry the means of war with them. There is also no centralized power after the closed plan takes effect because the corporations no longer has any way to impose control with their "betterment of humanity" rhetoric. All that's left are stray lynx pilots, arms and a whole bunch of independent colonies, most likely fighting for control of the system. Humanity has a chance, but at what cost?

And I loved every second of it.

gearsofcandy That was a hell of a Mission. Shooting down the Cradles is fun, so I did it repeatedly. Then it hit me; Every time I play this mission, I kill 100 million people while I look at the Cradles falling to their doom. Never have the lyrics been so Appropriate.
And by then, you have become the greatest monster mankind has ever witnessed. All in an attempt to save those yet living on the surface. As well as those still fortunate enough to still live on the remaining cradles.
Man, I have never played armored core but I still come to this song. It’s so emotional, it’s like a struggle to save the world or something you truly love. There is a sense of hope in this. If someone could explain to me the story of this song I would be very pleased! Thank you
To me, the song describes yourself, the best pilot on the planet. The Ace among Aces, completely unbeatable. Corporations throw everything at you: Advanced AIs developed for war, giant mechanical Fortresses with the power to destroy continents, and several best pilots of the current time period in 5 man squadrons. They all fall before you. You ARE scary, like something out of a fantasy. Death Incarnate. And in this game's true ending, this is what you become.
It's not hope, but despair. You're not a hero, but a slaughterer. In other words, you are humanity's worst enemy. Yet, it might be thanks to him that humanity was saved
ACFA has 3 endings. In this ending you genocide everyone in your wake. On Hard mode, 5 pilots and their mechs fight you + Old King (who is slaughtering alongside you). It's brutal but epic as hell. This song plays when you start your genocide, killing 100 million civilians. @Ivadovisk
It is indeed time to remember. Remember the training. The battles. The losses, betrayals, scars. And once more, step into the frey. For the last good fight we'll ever know. Live, and die, on this day. Live....and die..... on this day...

Never heard of or played an Armored Core game, but this song is great.
If you enjoy Big Robot, you WILL enjoy Armored Core, be it playing or watching others play.

Spirit of Motherwil Comes Again, will probably always stand out due to the sheer epic build up that it conveys.
I’m always happy to see MWC appear in armored core video comments. That game and it’s ost went INCREDIBLY HARD
This seems to be the most popular song on the Armored Core for Answer Album, and my own personal favorite.

"but now they'd rather ride the soulsborne hype train to death rather than try anything different"
Ride how, by not making soulsborne games?
I was talking about "now", since they aren't currently making any Souls games. Besides two or three (if you count Bloodborne) games really don't sound like "riding the hype train to death".
You know, I agree with you.
(although, still a little correction on DS Remastered, which was made by QLOC and Virtuos)
Oh hey another person who wants Armored Souls. When DS II came out I remember dreaming that maybe they should do that. We need Armored Souls, then we could have insane Russians with Moonlight blades, and Otsdarvas with Sunlight spears.
Mass Genocide: The song.
Funny this also plays when you defend line ark in probably the most noble mission in the game.
You are either remember as a mass murder by the rest of humanity that has survived your wrath.
Or
You are remembered as someone trying to be a noble hero stopping a great threat. Either way Humanity was a bit screwed but the second part leads to less deaths due to the ending.

You know what, I'm pissed off enough to make this argument. I think strayed had good motives to do that. It sucks you've lost taste I love this song as much as I did when I first heard it. I still have the Armored Core spirit and wish they would make another Armored Core game, especially one similar looking to Armored Core for answers with Mech's of the likeness thereof, but with the ARMORED CORE VERDICT DAY online system and match making modes.
Oddy Chanz ライトニング It's much more a matter of "I have to do stupid adult things instead of playing video games, these days" Though, you will be glad to heas that Fromsoftware said that they'll be taking a break from Dark Souls to work on more Armored Core.
mikedawgx01
They said they wore done with the Dark Souls series..
Unfortunately the Armored Core series always had a barrier that keeps them from scoring a 10/10
They barely get above average which each game considering their track record they're probably never going to reach that point where that one of their AC games will be on point with each core features being rated anything higher than a 8.
Minagi Jun
The reason some items wore locked off and even not in shop for the simple fact, when rising in rank or accomplishing a very difficult task must come with it's rewards.
"Good. You came. How obidient of you."

"Humanity? I don't see humanity anywhere, Otsdarva."
Its certainly a dark game where killing millions of innocent people is the good option. God I love Armored Core.

To me, the song describes yourself, the best pilot on the planet. The Ace among Aces, completely unbeatable. Corporations throw everything at you: Advanced AIs developed for war, giant mechanical Fortresses with the power to destroy continents, and several best pilots of the current time period in 5 man squadrons. They all fall before you. You ARE scary, like something out of a fantasy. Death Incarnate. And in this game's true ending, this is what you become.
