You said this is finally the year you get it on the road. I have had mine since 1993 and it ran, kinda. In 2004 I got remarried and it hasn't run since. This is the year I get mine running too. you are and inspiration!

    Happy New Year Antonio!
Progress on the Impala looks great and you doing an awesome job picking away at the tasks! Really looking forward to hearing it fire up!
On a side note; are you tracking all of the parts you're using for the swap? Will you have a list when you're finished the swap that others could reference to??
    Keep at it!
    Dave

I can definitely get one going! It’s a project that’s been going on for some time now so may miss somethings here and there. But this is a great suggestion.

That would be great! I'd love to see it as I'm sure other Subscribers would as well!

Yes as he said, Ramblers! Not sure if they will stay on the car or not

Not sure what your plans are for the AC system, but my 0.02 cents is to restore the factory style AC and use that, i have vintage air in my chevelle (heater only car) and the blower noise inside the cab is kind of annoying and loud. I restored the factory AC system in my crewcab squarebody and it kicked ass with a Sanden 508 compressor! I know the factory stuff isn't the prettiest to look at but GM spent lots of $$$$ making it work right

No i hear ya! My c10 that I regret selling had coooold ac. All I did was go to the parts store and replace the factory stuff and worked great. Wanted to vintage on the Impala because this year Impala just isn’t all that popular and oem replacement stuff has been an absolute headache to find sometimes.

I'm also doing an LS on a 58 bel-air . Did you use the original v8 engine mounts? And did you modify your gas peddle or jackyard cable paddle ? Hope you 65 on the road .

I used the BRP hot rods mounts for mine. Worked great. For the gas pedal I actually ordered them off eBay. On off a XJ Cherokee and one from a new edge mustang. I ended up using the mustang one with some risers on the mounts of the pedal. Though this made me have to buy a specific cable that matches a Ford end to a GM end and was kinda pricey. But so far it’s worked great. It’s back on the road now thankfully! I haven’t had a chance to upload, hopefully soon.

I measured the straight 6 mounts to the brp mount and there pretty close in height and with a slider mount on engine it brought engine back . And I found at a junkyard 93 GMC p.k.cable pull gas pedal that mounts flat to firewall upper rod is 6inch higher I'm going to check it's mounting

Do stock truck exhaust manifolds fit the B Body?

    • @mylifesucks327

Unfortunately in my particular car they didn’t. I tried haha. Passenger side fit but driver side would make too much contact with the steering box. I’ve read that LS3 Camaro manifolds fit. Read this on a forum some time ago but no idea what motor mounts were used. That all comes into play as well.

which header did you use ? the steering box is a problem

    • @mylifesucks327

I used a set of Hedman headers that are meant for a 1st gen Camaro with a LS swap. Unfortunately still did not clear so I had to dimple the header in a bit to clear.
