Late night. I try to focus on the blurred lights, neon signs and my hands are freezing. Snow blind with my head down with the wind in my eyes. This icy road stares back. Thereʼs only so much hope when every place I go reminds me Iʼll never get back home. But thereʼs no time. I look up into headlights. The screeching tires seem to call my name. I deserve this. Itʼs all true. Iʼm burning up. Everything you said hit me like a car wreck. Face down on the cold ground, slipping away as the past comes back. Iʼm face down on the cold ground, slipping away as it fades to black. Whiplash. A thousand thoughts converge on impact, a cry for help. But thereʼs no one left and the silence wins again. Iʼm barely breathing as they call my name. In the pouring rain I never felt like that. You said you felt the same. Canʼt spend another day here. I keep looking back as youʼre looking away. Iʼm no better than bad luck, walk away while you can. Turn the page then nail the book shut. Just walk away while you can.

This is my favorite Silverstein song. It’s so lyrically deep. On the surface it talks about one thing, but the lyrics are all a double meaning. Plus it’s just a well written masterpiece.

@@laserrlife I don't know why man, but I absolutely love Dead Reflection all the way through. I first started listening to Silverstein heavily when Discovering the Waterfront came out when I was in middle school through Shipwrecks in the Sand, after that pretty much stopped listening to post-hardcore music or anything similar completely for years. Recently discovered this album and I'm hooked again. Tried listening to Arrivals and Departures and I think it's pretty much trash now.

And in terms of production we went for a stripped down rock record. It wasn't a super slick record like Discovering The Waterfront. There weren't a lot of guitar tracks, the drum tracks were pretty raw sounding and there wasn't a lot of backing vocals. It was a rock record. " - Shane Told
Hmmmm I'm starting to notice that all of their current music vids have the same or similar theme. Dealing with guilt, facing your fears, ect. Really interesting how they used the black shapes as a symbol for that. There's a lot of small details in their music videos that can be easily overlooked if you're not analytically watching them..good job guys!

@@W8nC86 ever see a car wreck, and youre so shocked and amazed at all the carnage, pain and twisted destruction that you just stare with your mouth open, not able to move or speak or think or even look away? you can't imagine how anyone walked away alive, how they must be feeling, how those twisted pieces that once were perfectly good cars but are now junk got there. kind of like when you can't believe the words that just came out of this person's mouth, especially when compared to the total opposite things that they had just told you not more than a day ago. how much you believed in those words, despite a little voice in your head telling you maybe not to, but you decided to anyway. not only are you now beyond disappointed with this person, you're disappointed and ashamed in yourself for ever even trying to believe....
