Hope Liston They have never sold out and are more famous than ever. I have the highest respect for them because of this! Like serious every album is heavy AF
Silverstein is honestly like a legacy band that should have dissipated into obscurity years ago but they're so good and able to adapt musically that they stayed true themselves and wrote music for an entire new generation.
I found Silverstein in 2014 when I was a senior in high school, definitely pretty late to join the scene, but their music has helped me through so much since then. I’m so glad they kept going as long as they have. They’ve really made a lot of impact for a lot of people.
Every Silverstein album is amazing. I get that bands need to change up their style every album, but it upsets me how many of them jumped to become pop. Silverstein has always kept the same awesome style while changing small aspects of their music. They'll forever be one of my fave bands even though I'm a hypocrite because I love every panic! album 😭
I like to think they follow the every other album formula in that every other album is awesome traditionally. WBIEF - Good but Not Great Discovering the Waterfront - Awesome Arrivals & Departures - Good but Not Great Shipwreck - Great Transitions/Rescue/Short Songs - Awful minus a couple songs TIHTWS - Amazing IAAIEIT - Had only a couple decent songs, at least my opinion So this one will probably be legendary.
Logan Reid Media when broken is easily fixed will always be their best album... But to be fair it was a compilation of their best early years songs plus great new ones... It'd be like if their third album was the best of dtw and wbief plus a few new good songs... But yeah, wbief is always going to be the best, because they can never possibly top the song November in my opinion. But I have loved their new direction, Arrivals & Departures was a decent album but when judged by everything else, only blemish on their record is that album and they have said so themselves. They were in a dark place when they made A&D, with John beetz dying and what not, they almost broke up even. So as happy as a lot of shit sounds on the album it's actually a really dark album if you take every lyrical meaning and take it as the author is faking it. I've gotta say I miss Neil and josh now too right? Just those two left right? Not that I dislike the new guys but it's hard when a band member leaves just because they want to... At least if it's a death or their being a shithead you can say "well it's not like they have a choice"... I still think The Lovely Bones movie should have had Already Dead playing at some point in the movie seeing as how it was based on the book.
Yes! Sorry my friend, I was busy with writing my new album as well as I was in the middle of moving. I just finished moving so expect more content right away! :)
@@ljwhaley2649 Yeah I even personally introduced him to the band, have pictures to back it up. We met Shane Told, Paul, Billy, Josh, and Paul Marc that day
G RAG3R that’s awesome bro! My singer has also met Shane and the boys I’ve heard they extremely talented and super consistent with there guitar playing. Freaking Canadians
Life9Rolls2On I actually think this is some of Shane's best lyrics. You can really feel the hurt and "angst" in it. Although iaaieit was a very personal record, this hits home more to me
Been listening to Silverstein since I was in 7th grade(around 2007) and they’re still of my favorite bands today but of songs like this. I’m so bummed I’m missing them on the 16th.
Silverstein are like a fine wine . keeps getting better and better ! Jamming to them, since im 10 , almost 22 now . Definetely my favorite band of all time .
Silverstein will forever be my favorite band. Love these guys and their amazing music that have got me through every mood I've had throughout the 12 years of listening. I❤SILVERSTEIN
"The Stronger The Ties The Sharper The Knife" Love it! Its like all the younger bands arent putting out shit so the older bands are stepping out and putting out some of the best stuff they've done in ages. Im okay with this!
Silverstein artistically continue to grow with every album. Silverstein never takes steps backwards, a very rare thing to find among bands, especially ones that have been around for as long as Silverstein.
Shane doing the Lead Singer Syndrome podcast was the smartest thing for his career. This brings an entire new audience to Silverstein and they have adapted well with the times as an aging band
First time I heard them was hanging out on a rare afternoon of downtime with my buddy Jason while on deployment in 2003 and to be honest, I wasn't hooked right away. I thought they were decent but nothing special for that day and age. He told me go see them live and then make up my mind. He told me they were touring with Alexisonfire and would be playing in Greensboro in a now defunct, but legendary little dive bar called Ace's Basement a few months after we got back. It was the first show I got to attend back from the war. I've never left a concert that exhausted, that sweaty, but also that euphoric and refreshed. I was blown away by their live energy and I've been hooked ever since. Even all these years down the road, Silverstein is still one of my favorite bands to see live because of that infectious, visceral energy. To everyone that participated in the history of Ace's Basement, the owner, the bands that played there, and all the folks from NC that had to put up with the goofy idiot paratrooper from Ohio, thanks for making such a beautiful scene and welcoming a boisterous clown like myself with open arms. Jason had other things to attend to that night, but I wish he could have gone so we could have shared that experience. We didn't know it then, but in hindsight was the last concert he and I would have had a chance to see together. As often is the case with people in different units, my journey in the service soon took a different path, as did his, and by the fall of that year we had both gone back to the places and people we called home. He left the service cause he was going to be a father. Sadly, he was killed in a car accident while coming home from work a year later. Thank you Jason, for sharing so much in the short time we knew each other. Your friendship and presence in my life not only made that time so much more memorable, but the lessons I had learned from the man you were and the father you wanted to become have made me a better person. Rest easy brother, I'll see you in Valhalla.
Such a great example of band that stayed with thier sound while still evolving and never sold out. Shane easily has a voice to sell out too, but they've stuck to a formula that works and old fans stuck around.
What's even more impressive is that most of the band (other than the lead guitarist) has been together since 2000. You don't see that in bands too much anymore.
Shane, Paul, you guy's are so awesome! every two year's my life is in chaos but then again you guy's are the inspiration I needed! You guy's are my favorite band Ever! !!!!! I can't wait for you guys to come back to Albuquerque NM!!!! we love you guys !
Jordan Gallaher Not really, it kinda sounds like it's from Rescue but ain't nothing wrong with that, their sound is great and it works. But yeah it seems to be a little heavier than typical. I love the song already
It does sound a little different...I wanna say it sounds like a lot of modern posthardcore bands, especially the guitar riff at the beginning...It's awesome though.
generic if you mean generic for Silverstein. It still has their own style to it and can be matched up to most of their stuff. They are definitely not a generic band though
roboxsteven exactly, it's generic for Silverstein but their sound works. If it's Generic then they've pretty much made the Generic for the genre since they've been around for the past 17 years
i love more than anything that Silverstein has stayed true to their sound. it's one of my favorites ever in metalcore, and Shane's voice is undoubtedly crazy impressive for singing both the clean and unclean vocals, i don't care who you are or what you say. everybody is saying it's generic but that's good, because bands try to change their sound and 9 times out of 10 it doesn't sound good at all. they have a reputation for a reason, and are known for their sound. people who say bands' sounds on their music is generic: go listen to some other music that satisfies your needs. long time fans have major respect for bands who maintain their sound since day 1. i cant ever tell you how many times i've waited months or years for an album from one of my favorite bands, only to only be disappointed because they've tried to change. it's admirable when bands stay true to who they are and their sound, fans admire that. and devoted fans can also see the differences that people who call it generic don't see.
They're definitely growing from the emo days of their music, but they never disappoint! Every song seems to get better and better! Been a fan for over ten years, my all time favorite band! Even though they're growing they'll forever be the Original emo👌🏼
It all hangs in the balance, it’s all a blur. This broken neck holds the weight of the world. The devil’s finally admitted every deed. Scarecrows and hotels, a savage thrill. They come to life as your guts start to spill. And as it cuts and bleeds, a statue forms in me. I stand here frozen. I wish I could forget it. It’s so hard I’ll never get it right. Cold hearts on a colder night. The stronger the ties, the sharper the knife. They said this place would be different, it’s still the same. I’m sanded faceless you’ve taken my name. A beaten mind won’t heal, it takes you where you’ve been. Thorn in my stomach, pain in my side, you’re smashing protons as two worlds collide. With hands as cold as steel I feel you holding me. I stand here frozen. So I walked out of the valley, I let myself feel the sun on my bare back and melt the dirt off my skin. I let the breeze of the wind cleanse me. I let the elements in. It was my only fucking option! And again I was whole. And again I thought I could feel something one day. But this planet doesn’t have a sun. It only has a moon that’s lifeless. And every light that shines is a dead reflection.
When you just think to yourself if a band you haven't listened to in a little bit has anything new and you find out they just released a song 40 minutes ago.... Sweet.
Can't wait to see this live. thankfully they come to California all the time. In fact just saw Shane Saturday for his River Oaks music plus like 12 Silverstein songs
We seriously need a full on Silvertooth tour. Not 2 seperate sets but one long one. Oh and throw in either Knocked Loose, Counterparts or Trophy Eyes as the opener
Hell yeah!! I've been a fan since Discovering the waterfront and have loved everything from them since then. I can't wait to see them this summer at warped tour!!
I love this song. its a good step forward in their career never failing to amaze us. It reminds me of A Midwestern State of Emergency with the heavy verses and light chorus. It even had the same light change brighter during the chorus
Silverstein are consistently good with every album. I'm already confident it's going to be good as soon as they announce it. Had that belief for 13 years now and they've yet to disappoint.
i still love this group, but... am i the only one, who think the break is ordinary ... non-outstanding (not in Sstein's discography; at all)? i will not start to cry 'bout good-old-stuff albums. But i see that the song is... non-surprising (yep, it's still "Sstein mark, still nice quality) But i like all of U hoping that album will be amazing!
I'm only trusting what they said from their live feed video. No acoustic songs and the most heavy/personal album that they've ever done. It's gonna take a really good album to beat out A Shipwreck in the Sand for me. There isn't a bad song on that album.
Silverstein: You guys continue to amaze me and leave me speechless with every new album and song you release. Your music remains strong and to the most loyal fans out there it remains a constant in our daily lives. Thank you again for making awesome meaningful music.
A lot of people say they like Silverstein because the stick to their roots in music but I can't promise you this is nothing like anything from the when broken is easily fixed all the way to shipwreck in the sand and I hate it when bands change but I have a feeling this album is going to be bomb af. You know one of those that have you head banging till you look like your having a seizure while your driving
How do I put this? Silverstein experiments on foreign territory but lives the same old routine. This means they adapt and are able to perfect their style in different situations without losing flair. They're shapeshifting their craft & throwing themselves to the edge of their perimeter. No, wait. They're expanding it. They sound so fresh but so familiar. I guess I have no choice but to always love them. I can also already hear the acoustic version. So much adoration I have for this band.
Oh my god, I'm so excited for the new album, and I will see them live in Munich this year. I'm already looking forward to this so much. Silverstein is and will stay my favorite band. I love you guys 😍😍😍😍😍
Seventeen years later and these guys still got it.
Man, they really missed their chance using that as a title! I like it
I am seeing them in December. I will be sure to start the "You still got it!" chant lol.
20 years later and these guys still got it. 👌🏼
Just saw them again live over the weekend. Still.fucking sick. Best energy the whole concert. Shane is a legend
2022, you’re still right 🤘🏻🔥
I actually wasn't expecting this. I thought they were going to sound more pop. I am very pleased by this direction.
Hope Liston i love the lyrics in your bio.
Andy5577 Thank you for noticing! Senses Fail and Silverstein are definitely my top two favorite bands. 😜
Jason LovesABR Doesn't that make it even better? There's a vulnerability to it that I really love.
Jason LovesABR Omg! I totally forgot that was up! LMAO! I was 16 or 17. Thank you for appreciating it. 😂
Hope Liston They have never sold out and are more famous than ever. I have the highest respect for them because of this! Like serious every album is heavy AF
One of, if not THE greatest band out there.
MrX474 Silverstein, Story Of The Year, and Senses Fail are the kings of Post-Hardcore! 😄
I don't disagree...but I feel you have to add Ice Nine Kills....from a lyrical and sound standpoint...they are truly filthy talented.
Brian Worley true you got a point there bro! but we're talking about early 2000's Post-Hardcore bands 😄
S class lol
Mrx474 man your auto correct must be broke so I got this for you “Silverstein is THE greatest band out there”.
It's so good, Silverstein will always be the best band.
Silverstein never disapoint
tenesajuancruzenyb never once. And if anyone tries to say different I will fight you in a field
Alan Krumwiede is the field necessary for fighting? or is it an aesthetic choice? I completely agree but I'm curious.
Shawn Hunter I just have a huge field next to my house so it's mainly convenient
cough cough Arrivals & Departures cough cough
haha otherwise they're one of the most consistent bands out there
Alan Krumwiede that makes sense.
Silverstein is honestly like a legacy band that should have dissipated into obscurity years ago but they're so good and able to adapt musically that they stayed true themselves and wrote music for an entire new generation.
Even in 2020 they got it going still.
I coulda swore they wouldn’t do much after Arrivals & Departures. Year after year, they amaze me.
its crazy to think i actually got to see them last night and again in September. o.o

2022, Silverstein is still killing it 🔥🤘🏻
Consistently awesome. THIS is how you progress as a band over 17 years. Great song guys.
No new comments here but this song takes me back to 2017 underrated banger

Silverstein is def one of those bands that gets better as they get older.

WBIEF - Good but Not Great
Discovering the Waterfront - Awesome
Arrivals & Departures - Good but Not Great
Shipwreck - Great
Transitions/Rescue/Short Songs - Awful minus a couple songs
TIHTWS - Amazing

Silverstein: You guys continue to amaze me and leave me speechless with every new album and song you release. Your music remains strong and to the most loyal fans out there it remains a constant in our daily lives. Thank you again for making awesome meaningful music.
I haven't listened to them in forever. I like this.
Getting a new album from Silverstein and Pvris this year makes me very happy.
My first single I almost fucking forgot!!!!
I've got chill bumps, i cant wait for the album release! 😍
Fortunately for us they release one every two years. They continue to get better and better each album release.
Album releases on the day of my birthday. I think it's the first time something like this will happen to a band I pay attention to.
Forevermore, Silverstein. Love this band. Can't wait to see them at Warped Tour !!
Gosh I hope these guys never, ever stop.
I was very surprised by this record after not listening to them for about 10 years. Sounds so good, I love Retrograde especially.
Holy FAck, still tingling, Silverstein will always strive to keep that NRG up!
the best song on this album!
Wow this is not how I remember these guys, this is badass!!
