Finally went to a junk yard and got myself the same one and grabbed the bracket, hardware mounts, and took the headliner to fabric paint black. Would love to be apart of the astro meet up sometime when I get my baby finished. Your videos are so helpful, Keep it up!
Hey buddy! Good video. I am thinking about adding one but I am not sure that the plugs are in the ceiling on mine because I took out the dome light in the front, and there was only one wire that plug into it. I Don't see these plugs in the ceiling? If anything I may wire it manually!
Mine were tucked off to the side where they couldn't bee seen from the dome light hole in the head liner - You'll have to pull the headliner down and out to know for sure - My van is an '04 (third generation), I suspect they all have the wiring in place for this thing
I can't quite tell from the video... Does it extend behind the two front seats? I have a bulkhead in mine that sits right up against the seat backs. I'm keeping it because it doubles as my work van. Just trying to figure out if the console would actually fit in my case. Much appreciated, and once again, great job!
it is Greek language, μαστορας means one who knows what he is doing and does it with pleasure. your name is Greek that's why I wrote you in Greek, anyway I was pleased with the video, good job.
My friend, your genes are historical, read about your ancestors and you will be proud of your origin, Greece is a small country with a huge history, it gave the world language, mathematics, Olympic sports, theater, and democracy. I am glad that I met you even through a video, be well there in America. My English is Google translation.
@@giorgosmandra2364 I'm hep - My dad schooled me on all of it and I'm a bit of a historian - I've been to Greece several times and have the family house there, now, but will likely not go back - I pick up a bit of the language when there but you know how it is, you've got to use it frequently for it to take. I have a lot of family there and we're all connected via facebook
The MPG is Real ? your console looks very good. I congratulate you. My question is, are the numbers real on the console? For example, does it indicate miles per gallon?
Damn AZ is two days away.... You should have a built in garage door opener on that console. You have an LT Astrovan now! I would be interested in your OB reprogram if you do it. I never have. I put 31's on mine. It's 6ish mph off. And a pansy in the power department. But she gets more attention than a blonde in a mini skirt. As someone put it.
So yeah, I hear some have power issues when they go with larger tires - I don't know why my van doesn't have any real power issues.... I think it has to do with the new Jasper transmission, the 4x4 transfer case swap because now the AWD can't engage at all anymore, and the fact that so much of the thing is new - My suspension and all - I also know I have a pretty strong engine. I'm running a tire just shy of 30" with the 3:42 gears and can climb mountains doing well over 85mph - I do feel a power loss if I'm already at higher elevation and then have to climb like going over the Rockies in Colorado or even when I'm on I40 going up to Williams to see my brother, but it's not terrible. It's more about your pedal manipulation where you allow the computer to get the thing into the right gear before the climb starts - If I floor it the thing is a dog but if I gently apply just a bit of pedal I feel the transmission finding the climbing gar - When that happens I actually have to slow down because I can easily hit 90mph or more.... Replacing the control arm bushings, the rear springs, good shocks and not having any other worn/lose suspension parts makes for a great ride, too.... Some people think that if their van is a dog that everyone else's must be as well but that's just not the case at all.... I suspect I'll have to freshen the engine up, I've got a little weeping from somewhere, I think it's valve cover gaskets, nothing serious - When the time comes I'll do what needs doing - If I ever need a new engine I'm considering a V8 I think about the gearing, too, as I'd like to run a larger tire but I wouldn't go over 30" without changing the gearing to the 4:10's, possibly the 3:73's... I think I just got lucky with my tire size and everything else, I just nailed the sweet spot
Yeah, that hit me this morning, I haven't tried it yet but I know there must be a way to do that and that was what came to mind - I also have the original manual for this van so I really should eyeball that thing
Michael......at least tell us or show us a pic of the clips the guy let you take for free. I'd like to have some of these clips on hand should I ever need one. Thanks......Mike in Maryland
Astro's are amazing. Nice install. Currently working on putting an overhead in my 97 Blazer. So nice!
Nice work. And nice ThinkerThunker shirt! 👣

Right, it goes back behind the backs of the front seats - Waatch more of the videos after this one and you'll see what's up
Did you have to run any wires to make the display work? Was it some type of harness or wires that was tapped in?
They're all prewired for it

yes, it also calculates the average... I sinc'd it all up with the new reflashed ECU
Nice . I have one in the shed but im betting Im missing all the mounting stuff
Yeah, the main thing is the plate for the rear section to mount to... I've been meaning to gear up and hit a junk yard just to pull everything....
