Many things have changed in India since Narendra Modi first became prime minister. But one change that has gone almost unnoticed is that a process of real decolonisation has transpired. And because of this the old, colonised ruling class has been swept away. This is a very good thing. It should have happened long, long ago. As someone who belonged to that ruling class, I consider myself well qualified to explain why this process of decolonisation was overdue and how we failed India as its ruling class.
Sethi has a superb fiction-driven mind that generates sensational scripts in his commentaries. Every day, he uses the word "drama" repeatedly. Sethi has a world viewpoint in which there are no ethics, morality, law, or authenticity. Everything is a conspiracy, a game, a drama. Yesterday, Sethi claimed that Hamas conspired with Israelis to kill thousands of Jews. Then, he thought the Iranian attack on Israel was a "drama." The show is nevertheless interesting and Punjabi phrases by Seyeda Naz are joyful.
It is a very common and very dumb mistake made by most of these pseudosecular types like Najam Sethi, to equate hinduism (sanatana dharma) with the abrahamic religions. Firstly Sanatana dharma is not a religion. Secondly it is not exclusivist like Islam or Christianity. So rest assured that a "hinduised" (sethi's term, not mine) India will never be like Pakistan. It was totally hinduised which welcomed all other religions in india in ancient times.Hindus do not need these liberals to teach them religious tolerance. Sethi should get his inputs from sources other than his stinky friends at the Wire and get wiser.

India is one of most diverse and largest country by population, there will be few cases of bigotry by people against each other, but this is not one sided, Pakistani Muslim Intellectuals lack the intellctual honesty to admit that for each of case of atrocity on Muslims there are almost equal cases of Muslim atrocities against Non-Muslims in India. How many Hindu gangsters are there in Pakistan or other Islamic countries who routinely targets Muslims.
BJP on the whole is trying bringing much needed equality for Hindus at the institutional level where they are at the recieving end, for example educational institues run by Hindu organisations have to ensure the Government mandated affirmative action but Christian/Muslim run educational institues don't have follow these rules.Heck even Pakistani Muslim personal laws are more the reformed than Indian Muslim personal laws.

Christians and Muslims have already converted many of people of India in the past and India which has a rich culture and history suffered because of those two religions .
