India does not need Pakistan. Pakistan is on the brink of bankruptcy that is why it is seeking trade with India to bring down its sky rocket inflation. It is in India's national interest to keep Pakistan on perpetual poverty and dependent of foreign debt.

From an Indian point of view, both the US and China do not desire that India and Pakistan trade. Both countries would want to use Pakistan as a lever against India. This will not harm India but finish Pakistan. Therefore, Pakistan will need to work out trade with India bilaterally. India will be willing to give favourable terms of trade to Pakistan, if its efforts are sincere like ending support to terrorism and postponing a resolution to Kashmir by 50 years. This will help India to focus on China. For Pakistan this is a very difficult ask as normalising relations with India would mean no need for a high defence budget which will be unacceptable to the Pakistani Army. The Pakistani establishment is left with a difficult choice - disintegration of Pakistan or normalisation of relationship with India in the long term. Sadly, Pakistan has always found it difficult to make hard choices.
India and Pakistan relation can never be solved so long as Pakistan Army has decision making authority in Pakistan. Whenever india relied upon Pakistan, it was always cheated. India will never do same mistake so long as modi in power.

Unless mindset of Pakistan/ islam in Pakistan changes its mindset , which you are not even prepared to think , if does not change , india will not like to work with Pakistan.
Its a fact that Pakistan 's mindset change and Indian Muslims mindset change has to happen and happen rapidly .
Otherwise forget about any relations with india.
Trade would benefit Pakistan more than India.
1. Goods would be cheaper (due to less transportation cost and cheap labour).
2. Pakistan has shortage of US dollars as foreign currency reserve. So, India and Pakistan can workout a mutual agreement for trade in rupees.
3. Pakistan can invite India to invest in Pakistan and have joint ventures. Capital is short in Pakistan but not in India.
4. As Indian industry would have stakes in Pakistan, India would have stakes in the stability of Pakistan.
Though I am sceptical. When China, the dearest friend of Pakistan and with the guarantee of army, is not able to operate comfortably and its investments not safe, it would be a wishful thinking that it would good for India to trade with Pakistan.
No need to start relation, at any cost at any time in future also, big no no.
