I asked my Japanese friend what the songs lyrics meant turns out they aren't in any language. They're in complete gibberish. The band members say that they sing whatever noises and sounds the feeling of the song evokes, which allows people to put their own meaning to the song. Such a rad concept, these guys are amazing 🤟🏼
For the record, these guys aren’t better (nor are they worse) than king gizz, they’re different. Gizz could do stuff like this if they wanted to, and km could do gizzish stuff if they wanted to
To everyone who enjoyed this: Start exploring the Japanese Psychedelic scene. It is far more fertile than you may realize and is full of fantastic bands.
@@PandPfreestyle You should be glad I had too much time to do because I've gone above and beyond to be your guide. This post will serve as a guide to some artists I enjoy across a range of sub-genres within the scene. I don't cover them all, but again this is more about giving you a start. But wait... that's not all, I made a Playlist to go with this post! Go to my profile, it's called JPsychPrimer. It contains songs from each of the bands mentioned and has tons for you to chew on! This post will help you know which bands fit into which areas. Asterisks mean they aren't just recommendations, they are personal favorites! The playlist starts with some Japanese Psych-Rock/Psychedelic Hard-Rock. Kikagaku Moyo nominally fit into this category and this is the style that started it all, really. If you like this stuff look up the record label Guruguru Brain. They put out Kikagaku Moyo and Sundays & Cybele and in general are one of your best sources for J-Psych in the West. Im from Chile and i travelled to Prague 6 days ago. Saw these people by accident and it was like literally watching the Velvet Underground or some shit like that. They just lift the room to a state that i havent seen since seeing Daft Punk like 15 years ago
I’d die to see this in their own backyard. I found them whilst tripping during Covid. Imagine some lovely, amazing and nice things when listening. Showed to so many people and they just don’t dig it. Lots of love. North east of England.
Fuck yeah! I came across these guys a few months back and can't get enough of watching their live performances. s/o to KEX for this sort of content as well! - Dripping Sun is a beautiful song...ありがとう!
Proof positive the entire world is tired of hearing the bull shit that is played on the radio these days! These guys are phenomenal and i would have never heard of them if it were not for this channel, thank you KEXP!
Hey Kikagaku Moyo, about the recordings and enunciations.....I remember them insisting persistently and I was terribly afraid that it would be found to be offensive....the person kept insisting and I was like ok if they can see it in the fun context.......*sigh*...hope all is well with you

except for Nazo Nazo, the only one with lyrics
Cool!! They’re scatting!
Holy fuck
Ever listen to cocteau twins? Beautiful vocalist, same idea. The voice more as a pure instrument
Kind of like Sigur Ros
I swear these guys are Japan's answer to King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. They are phenomenal.
KM are far more talented. I say this as a fervent gizz fan and collector, and having seen both. They're in different leagues.
Much better than King Gizzard.
For the record, these guys aren’t better (nor are they worse) than king gizz, they’re different. Gizz could do stuff like this if they wanted to, and km could do gizzish stuff if they wanted to
KM are way better, don't compare them to king lizard
@@koronas26 go easy mate. Let’s go with different, not better
Stuff like this is why we need to keep funding public radio. Thanks for bringing these guys on! Love their new album!
I too, heard them from public radio right around the time you posted this. Orlando?

Saw KM in Birmingham . Me and my gig buddy took a punt - we hadn't heard of them before . That gamble really paid off - what a treat !

Love this, they should tour with My Morning Jacket.
A cena psicodélica ainda respira (e forte)
Is that a specially modified Sitar? I always wanted to play a Sitar standing up!

Idk why, but they look like they just use pantene shampoo and swore never to cut their hair again
Gatsby definitely hate them as Pantene looked suitable with their hairstyle.
