@@lambdadelta821 I'm genuinely curious as to the appropriate terminology to use here. Afaik, a soundfont is a package/collection of sounds/instruments. I see the word soundfont as often as I see passive aggressive corrections in the replies not posing an alternative term to use.
This is a great arrange, and it also highlights a very interesting contrast between Pure Furies and Immemorial Marketeers imo. I've heard some critiques of Immemorial Marketeers being..."climax-less" -- there's no part of it that's particularly high-tension, so it feels like multiple build-ups strung together without a "core". Meanwhile I'd argue Pure Furies is almost the opposite -- there's no real build-up, no breaks, just tension...Pure Fury, if you will. :V IM switches between a few different melodies that all are lead into each other, while PF is almost entirely variations of the same one or two melodies. My music theory is awful so I dunno how to put this in real music words and maybe I'm just full of hot air but I dunno I think that's really cool that They Are Different Songs And This Arrange Makes One Song Sound More Like The Other And That Is Neato.
UM's incident was less threatening than LoLK's incident. Junko and Chimata were both intense and brash in their motives, but Junko's motives were far-reaching and persistent, while Chimata's motives were self-centered and desperate. Chimata wanted survival, while Junko wanted vengeance. Hence both themes are both intense, but Chimata's lacks tension, and Junko's lacks rest. Adding onto the last part (IM switches between some melodies, while PF has only one/two), it does make sense if you think about it. Chimata is the god of marketplaces, and people exchange things when they buy and sell. Therefore, her theme would be reminiscent of a marketplace; several short melodies that switch around, embodying the cycle of buying and selling. Junko is an embodiment of her own grudge against Chang'e so her theme would be a constant single line. Junko's grudge won't change or end, so her theme wouldn't have much variety in its melodies, showing her inability to let go.
Oh my, I love this so much. I always find it cool to mix the melody of one song with the structure of another. Here Roka Enzaki (the arranger of this alternative version) adapted the background elements, structure and some melodies of Junko's theme very well, but the melody of Chimata's theme is still here, of course, getting very powerful and imposing with this structure. And I enjoyed seeing how the melodies that appear at the end of the Chimata's theme appear throughout this arrange. I always wondered what a TH15-style version of this theme would look like. And this result surprised me.
you might like this one too! it's my personal favourite, but it doesn't really combine much and this one sounds more polished th-cam.com/video/qokSTu1lM-4/w-d-xo.html
I think mixing Whereabout of the Heart's melody w/s Immermorial Marketeers's melody at the beginning makes the song sounds _bumpy_ , I guess. (Wow, I can't believe I thought you made this arrangement.)
Every time the 0:38 melody hits, I always feel it's gonna transition into Hourai Victim, but it never does >u< it kinda bugs me but the remix is really solid!!! It gave Chimata's the sense of finality her og theme doesn't give her.
Honestly, I prefer this version. I didn't really like most of UM's soundtrack and I couldn't understand the final boss theme. It was very busy and I didn't feel the excitement I feel with almost any other Touhou final boss theme. Very good job!
Honestly, I've never seen anyone ask for a "Touhou 1" arrange of a song rather than a "PC-98 arrange", because I've seen very few people acknoledge the difference in music styles those games had.
@@Jann75 A Touhou 1-style arrangement would be so different. I mean, the style of Touhou 1 seems to me quite different from the style of the other PC-98 games, and the Touhou style in general.

I kept waiting for the badass Romantic TP cut-in from around 50 seconds in the original and it never came. I'm disappointed. If the price for having one of my favorite themes in my favorite game music style is to remove the best part of it, then don't waste your time.

The LoLK instrument set is absolutely amazing. My favorite one right next to the EoSD set
SA soundfont works super well for boss themes too

The composition leans into Touhou 17 territory almost, just with Touhou 15 instruments and Junko's theme.
This is one of the best theme mashups I've ever heard 👍
Yooooooooo.. I love this!
