    Thanks for doing this. I enjoyed it.
    It's natural to think you can add seized ships to your fleet, but that's not the case. When you seize a ship, you get to use it for the rest of the scenario you are playing, but then it goes back to the box. You can only check off ships on your fleet card when you earn a feat which allows you to do so. The feat specifies the class of the ship you can add, and you choose the ship in that class to add.

    This video is exactly what I've been looking for. I was wanting a quick play through so I could see a few details and in all the others they want to explain the bare basics during the game and I couldn't sit through that. I realized quite a few errors I made on my first 2 test play throughs. I'm ready to start for real now! Thanks!!

    Nice job on the video, production is very nice with some good camera angles. This was very helpful for me as I'm just newly taking up PACG. I did not play RotRL, decided to start here because a friend had it on his shelf and hadn't gotten it down yet. I'm now borrowing it to see if I want to purchase from him. It's nice to see a solo scenario can be played fairly quickly.
    I still get a little confused on when you can play which cards, but it's starting to click a little more now. Thanks again!

      Hi, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I hope you enjoy the game! Generally, if a card does not specify when to play it, it can be played at anytime. For the sake of clarity, I try not to do that much in my videos to avoid any confusion.

      I'm in the same position, Tim. Only I own it and its been sitting on my shelf for months. I attempted to play it twice but it was a disaster. So glad for this playthrough. It will help me immeasurably.

    Hi again, one strategy I use is to acquire as much loot as possible that way when healed your "life" can go above 15. I notice you skip certain items
    even though spells with the arcane trait can be used once then banished. Anyway, just a strategy note. You video makes me regret selling my full copy of S&S. Cheers!

      +Ron Armstrong Well I honestly do that as well but I specifically don't all the time in my videos for two reasons. First, I'm trying to teach as I play so I'm illustrating the fact that you don't always have to go for every single card you come across. Second, since the Warpriest can pretty much heal anytime, I didn't want to bog down the decks in case I decide to heal.
      S&S really isn't a bad set. I'm not a fan of pirate themes either but I've sat with the designer Mike Selinker on several occasions and he goes on at length at how much innovation the development team put into this set. I've met a few of them and am embarrassed that I have yet to play through this entire set. Something that I am remedying!

    I really enjoy your presentation style and the level of explanation you provide both of the rules and of the play decisions you make. I am a big fan of Wil Wheaton's table top series, and I am adding your channel as my other go-to for helping on buying decisions as well as learning to play.
    Very, Very quality video. I look forward to viewing your other content.
    Not sure if you have done this, but do have/plan on videos with other players?

      Thank you so much for the kind words! My goal with these videos is to provide an entertaining tutorial on board games. I have a few episodes with other players but generally I do solo videos. The reason is that since I do so many different shots and angles, it takes about 3 times as long to get through a single game. So these 40+ min playthrough really take about 3 hours to shoot...at least. So it is hard to get people to commit to that especially if they are not being paid. Hell, i'm not even getting paid, lol!
      I've slowed down on board game videos in that last couple months but I'm working on coming back with some coverage of new games such as Warhammer Quest, the next Pathfinder set and the upcoming Apocrypha! Stay tuned!

    Thank you so much for this video. Could you please let me know what the benefit is of the Island Hopping reward? The card text says "Each character gains a random item from the box". If the game state resets between scenarios, and the decks are customizable, how is this reward a bonus? I think I might be misunderstanding something. thank you for your help.

      Each character starts a campaign with a 15 card deck, the contents of which will carry over from game to game. During the course of a game, you will most likely acquire new cards to use. When a game ends, you need to restore your deck back down to 15 cards. You can keep some of the new cards as long as you remove some older cards. There are some restrictions on how many of each card you can have in your deck and later on you will be able to have larger sized decks. So gaining a random item at the end of the adventure gives you some free cards to customize your decks for the next game. Also, the characters can freely trade cards with each other in between scenarios. You can see an example of all of this here: th-cam.com/video/gHC4CpwzMt4/w-d-xo.htmlh6m25s

      This helped me so much. I missed the manual part that said that the original decks were made with cards that had the "basic" trait. After going through all the cards to build my own deck, I realized that over the course of the first scenario, I came across cards that had the "elite" trait. The fact that I can now include those into my persisted deck makes the game so much more enjoyable. I appreciate the fast reply and the time you've poured into making vids.

    There was a chance that Lirianne could have temporarily closed a location so that Adaro could not eacape to it. But good choice not wasting your allyn on that. Also this is a great video. Made a lot of complicated stuff clear like using blessing for other character's check even on different locations

    Makes sense, ya I was playing RotRL with some friends but it died off after deck 3 so now I'm trying to get through solo. Then I have WotR to get through. I'm looking forward to the iOS version.

      +Ron Armstrong :: I had the same issue with my friends. After realizing PACG is somewhat based on the characters from the comics, I shared that with them. One friend and I agreed the comic helped to breathe some life into the hero characters to renew our interest.

      @xlguru 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      thanks, how far back did you go when buying the comics? are they segmented by adventure path?

      +Ron Armstrong :: I actually just googled "pathfinder graphic novel" and found them on a site bookgn.com for free but very slow download speed.

    I believe when you defeat a henchman they get banished to the box, not moved to another location.

    I think I don't understand how ships work, I thought that everyone goes to the new location when a character does unless they "stay behind" on another location. I need to re read the rules. If they must go along, then Lirianne would not get the +1d4 for each check on the Lonely Island, right?

    • @ZeroBudgetGeek
      @ZeroBudgetGeek  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. Unless a ship is anchored somewhere, it is considered to be at the location of whichever character's turn it is. Whichever character's turn it is, they are considered to be in command of the ship. If there are other characters at the same location as the "commander" of the ship, they are considered to be onboard the ship as well. If the commander decides to move to another location, the ship "moves" with them and any other characters that were "onboard" can also move with the commander for free. This move is not mandatory however.

    • @sharxboy
      @sharxboy 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Zero Budget Geek ok, so then Lirianne was not the only character at Lonely Island? confusing. "ship bound" other characters don't count as being on the island with her?

    • @ZeroBudgetGeek
      @ZeroBudgetGeek  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Characters are only considered on board the ship if it is their turn, which makes them the commander, or at the same location as the commander. During Lirianne's turns at the Lonely Island, she was in command of the ship but she was also alone because no other characters were with her at the location. When it isn't her turn, she isn't onboard unless she happens to be at the same location as the current commander of the ship.

    • @sharxboy
      @sharxboy 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok, I guess that's so she can "defend" the ship if she encounters another ship. Makes no sense story wise.
