I read a few comments below saying this is 'basic' playing.. If you think that it's easy to play like this, you simply have not dedicated enough hours into playing this instrument to appreciate this stuff. To be able to say so much with so few notes is the epitome of a guitar player with mature phrasing. Maturity isn't something that can be rushed. I hope I'll get somewhat closer to this level of sophistication in my playing in ten years or so but in the meantime, I'll continue to enjoy listening to and learning from players like Jack, Robben Ford and many others.
"I fear not the man who practiced 10.000 kicks one time, but the man who practiced one kick 10.000 times." - Bruce Lee It might be 'basic' in a technical sense, but it shows a level of mastery over those basics that few can truly match. It's an excellent showcase of how much can be done once you get just the fundamentals down. Besides, it's not like he's playing progressive rock, right?
If he means ‘basic’ in the sense of Peter Green or Paul Kossoff, give me some of that! And if you like this sort of expressive playing, check out the young British guitarist Chris Buck.

My biggest thing I take away from this, and that I’d tell young musicians, is awareness. Such soulful playing, and his sense of melody and phrasing draws you right in. Thanks for the introduction.
Sounds like he's been taking lessons from our sweet friend Uncle Larry. Wonderful.
He certainly has a similar approach to Buk. Taste for days brutha.
I've seen your videos before, but this one got me subbed. Your absolute love of guitar shines through so hard.
The most wholesome guitar channel on TH-cam does it again.
THANK YOU the introduction. He is a beautiful guitar player.
Sa-weeet! A thing of beauty.
What a delight to the ears! Thank you for showcasing Jack for us, Michael, I appreciate the introduction.
Told Joe Robinson about your channel/community in a comment. He reads everything. Might be a good time to reach out. He goes a live thing on here about every week. Good guy!
Joe is a buddy of mine, one of the nicest guys you’ll meet right? Great dude and f’kin unreal player
@@ericbrewerguitar1499 Maybe you could put a word in and get these guys together. Joe should have more subs on his channel, and I think they'd love to meet him over here.
@@Baerno definitely, I’ll message him!
This is the difference between playing for the love of the music VS someone showing off!!! He loves what he's doing and it shows!!! Beautiful!!!
man I hope one day I'll find a women I can touch as soft as he touches that guitar
Dude. Right?!
Creeeeeeepy....
@@baseboardmatt agreed

@@baseboardmatt CHILD ! either your gay or too young to understand . You sound like a jr high school girl .

Jack is, indeed, a *bad* man!! How can *everything* someone plays be tasteful?!
I'm loving that the first comment I see is Kirk Fletcher with a "Sounds so good" :)
Since you love this you should check out Peter Green playing with Otis Spann. I love slow blues licks because there's nowhere for the guitarist to hide. Check this out, the whole album is fantastic. th-cam.com/video/xtMq7svZPyc/w-d-xo.html
Hi Michael. Maybe you'd like to check out Gomm ...

BTW, I like your facial expressions and your rich visual comparisons.
Thank you for this introduction. Never heard of him before but now I'm obsessed.
Michael u gotta check out Chris Buck or Mateus Asato. they're beasts too. super soulful:)
He is the definition of melodic. Thanks for turning us on to him! That's why you are MY guitar teacher!
See you don't have to play fast to be great in fact I think it's better to play slow and cherish every note it's like a fine aged bourbon! I was getting shivers up my spine!
Michael, don’t think I’ve ever seen you react to Robben Ford. You really should! He’s gonna blow your mind, seriously! Cheers, man! Keep up the great work!
Whoa, he's changing lanes without blinkers. That is some truly impressive playing.
Oh man that’s good! Smooth and unique. So rare to wow me these days but yeah you found him. Thanks deeply!
The one person I watch every TH-cam video of... Tommy Emmanuel. Been my favorite since the 80s.
Same
Michael - sooooo many thanks for sharing the treasures of this gifted guitarist! Absolutely hooked - so tasteful! Your channel and you are gold!
Music is not a competition, its just about the beauty that music gives us.
Thanks Michael for alerting me to this wonderful guitarist who until now I'd never heard of. The hairs on my neck started pricking up as soon as that minor to major change came in and it blew me away. Awesome. I love guitar players who aren't in it for the number of notes they can fit into a beat, but instead play what's required, when required, awesomely.
Hello to everyone so soon after this came out, hope you're having a good day
Your hands down the best at putting what this is in words.
