Ariel Posen, former member of The Bros Landreth band is another awesome (slide) player, singer, songwriter. I don't know what's in the water up in Winnipeg but all of these guys are killin' it!
I had the pleasure of playing a few gigs with these guys back home in Winnipeg, opening of course, and I’m so happy with how far they’ve gone. We knew they were special
I came across them several years ago. I spread them around a little but I've mostly kept them to my self as most non musicians don't really appreciate the music. Yeah they kinda like it and it doesn't suck but that's about as good as they can say lol.
IM 72 years old and used to lament about not having any good new music to listen too. Since I quit watching regular tv and went mostly to scouring youtube, I've come across many new young talents that I normally would not have known about. I discoverd Bros Landreth a year or two ago and just love them. Got to be You is one of my all time favorites now. Being a mediocre guitar player myself, I absolutely love Joey's slide playing. He's one of the best out there and deserves all the credit in the world. Great video Rhett.
Hey Larry - 50ish yrs old guitarist here. Have you found Levi Clay's channel? I've discovered some wonderful guitarists through his channel. Now, some of them are shred-meisters - but Levi's favorite guitarist is Danny Gatton (if that does anything for you). Cheers!
I´m 72 years from Chile , at the End of the World, and is so refreshing discover this Brothers, TRUE QUALITY, not a invention that exist today like Bonamassa, Mayer Shit that the Media sell us as Legends. Greetings from Concepcion , Biobio Region.
I'm Italian. I want to start with this information, because this awesome new music seems to be more rare here than in the rest of the world, and when I discovered the Bros. Landreth and Joey solo project several yeras go, was like: WTF? WHERE THEY WERE? As you said, my exact same thought: everytime they inspire me to play, to learn their songs or their style. I want to mention also Ariel Posen. They used to play togheter in the first Bros. Landreth records. They blow my mind. Because of them I started to learn how to play in open tuning, not only to play slide, but also to have other colors under my hands, with voicings and so. I had the chance last October to see Ariel live in Utrecht, but not Joey and Dave. I have to recover as soon as possible. For me they are unreachable, pure amazing talent, but still a shiny inspiring light.
Joey Landreth, Blake Mills and Julian Lage are the three guitarists/muscicians of the past decade who have rekindled my faith in contemporary music more than anyone else. They all make musical music to grow with over a lifetime.
It's great to see other people fall in love with these guys. Rhett, you and I don't know each other but I'm 100% certain we could sit together, enjoy a drink and talk Bros Landreth all night. Thanks for spreading the word!
Thanks Rhett! For posting & your comments. I'm a long time fan of the Landreth boys... known 'em since they were tykes... their dad is a friend/bandmate. I agree with your opinion of them... Best Wishes from Winnipeg: home of the Guess Who; The Crash Test Dummies; & the Bros Landreth!
I was very lucky to see a solo Joey gig when he was first over in the Uk. It was in a tiny bar in London and people were actually audibly gasping at his voice and guitar playing! Astonishing!
To me, the most impactful musician to come across in decades- stellar guitar chops, soulful voice, and great song structure. His solo album "Whiskey" impacted me in the same manner as Jackson Browne's early records. Something you don't get tired of listening to. I'm 71 and have seen all the greats. Drove to London, Ontario last year to see the band in a small old concert hall with about 200 people. The best show I've seen in years. Thanks for posting.
He really is extraordinary. So talented and unique. Triple threat! Chris Buck is another amazing guitar player-he is the guitar player I want to be when I grow up.
They are absolute legends, been listening to the gang for years - Bros. Landreth, Joey Landreth & Ariel Posen (which used to be on the original Bros. Landreth line up). Seen all acts a good few times and met Ariel personally. Incredible musicians, song-writters & human beings! Thanks Rhett for this video, keep the great content coming at us.
I was stage manager at the Beaumont (Alberta) Blues & Roots Fest and I got to talk to the Landreth boys a bit. Super nice guys, and really down to earth.
I had a lesson with Joey a few years ago. Came in completely unprepared, with my laptop failing over and over again, my guitar tuned in a weird way - nothing really working. And yet, he managed to take all the things I know, flip them around and rebuild them anew. An amazing experience and Joey couldn't be nicer with all the things. Hope to catch him in Poland one day!
The mastery of dynamics runs across the whole band live, not within each of them only, but between them all. Even my friend who never goes to live music, asked how they control their volumes like that as soon as we left the venue.
I met Joey in the Air Canada lounge in 2017 when he was headed to the UK for some shows. I honestly think I was the only person in the lounge that knew who he was and just what an amazing talent he has. Such a humble and gracious person . I suspect as time goes on his ability to go unrecognized will vanish. Simply one of the musicians Canada has ever produced... and a really wonderful person too. Hell of a combo !!! Cheers !
I, too, found the Bros Landreth through That Pedal Show. Mick 'n' Dan were/are over the moon for these guys and I was caught up as well. Joey is the REAL DEAL. So talented, down to earth, and so willing to share his inner pedal geek with the rest of us. 🙂
Saw them last night in KC at cool little venue called Knuckleheads. Amazing show. Not just Joey's guitar playing, but the 3 part harmonies blew me away too. Unfortunately, they said it was their last show and that they were headed home for Winnipeg today (May 31).
I love them as well. I worked in a cabinet-making shop with Alexi Sorokin's brother-in-law and heard all the incredible stories of how Joey and Alex got to making the Gold Top. Alex came into the shop once, dressed in a three-piece suit, and I had no idea what to say to him, so I just said hi and went back to work. I've only seen the Bros Landreth play once, but it was a killer show. It was sold out, but my wife and I showed up, hoping against hope that we could somehow score tickets. Some guy just walked up to us and said his two friends bailed on him so we could have their tickets if we didn't mind sitting next to an old guy. Haha. The show absolutely ripped. To this day, Joey has the all-time best on-stage joke I've heard. "This song goes out to anyone here on their last date." Haha, gets me every time.
thank you so much for highlighting Joey and Dave. I've been a fan for several years and can't stop talking about them to people. Still criminally under recognized and way overdue for greater success. We need to make sure these guys can afford to keep doing what they do. Absolutely the leaders in the salvation of the art and beauty of modern music.
Here in Canada we've known about these Winnipeg boys for some years. Dunno what there is about Winterpeg that produces great artists, but it does. Maybe 'cause it's too frickin' cold in winter to do anything but practice. And the winter is six months long. And then come the floods, and then the mosquitoes. And some great music.
Joey and the Bros. are just insanely talented musicians and songwriters, and just overall GREAT people. So happy to see his song covered by Bonnie Raitt winning a Grammy. It’s a shame such music isn’t more popular these days but I’m just grateful for Joey sharing his musicianship.
Amazing talent, jazz chops, compositions are flawless, and man what voice, and his timing is perfect, its like a perfect play where no one misses a word, and the diction has so much feeling in it. Wow thanks so much Rhett!!!
Great episode. So many valuable insights. It's great to see younger players who have such a strong sense of melody and dynamics, not to mention superb musicianship. The Lowell George influence is undeniable, but not overdone. Wonderful to hear music like this.
This is the sort of music old, smoky bars were made for. They remind me of some of the bands I used to see in the '80s, while hair metal was all the fad, and you'd have these guys who just slayed it in a three-piece with drums and bass playing the blues or mellow jazz. So great to see music like this still being made and appreciated.
Joey is the most important thing to happen to the electric guitar creatively in a half century. Plus, Joey and Dave write the most beautiful music imaginable.
The Bros. Landreth has become my favorite band over the past year or so. I describe Joey in the exact same terms you do, a triple threat. Amazing to be so equally talented in all aspects of music creation. I got to see them live on May 21 up near DC and they did not disappoint. I got the chance to speak with all three band members separately and they were all so humble and cool. Of course I wanted to ask Joey a million technical questions. People were asking all about his gear/playing and he was very cool about sharing information. Looking forward to seeing them again and await any new music from them with eager ears. It amazes me they aren't more popular!
I recently saw the Bros. Landreth in a city near me. I was able to stand right up to the stage, mere feet from the band, with my son for only 22$ per ticket. What a privilege!
What blows my mind is that not only he's that good of a triple threat, he's doing all that Singing and playing and improvising ON AN OPEN TUNING. Insane.
Met Joey in the UK, as he's a friend of the guitarist in my band. I agree with every word you say. He's totally World Class. One of the best voices and singers I've ever heard. A complete master guitarist and all round musician. But most of all .......so humble. The Bros Landreth are still very much " under the radar" and known by only a small band of followers - when in truth they should be up there with The Eagles, when it comes to playing, singing, their vocal harmonies and song writing. I hope in time they achieve the success they so rightly deserve.
Stumbled across Joey in a Carter’s Vintage video in 2016 and became an instant fan. Seen his solo gig 3 times, the Bros twice, taken a few lessons, and been privileged to hang out with him and the musicians he tours with. Agree with everything here, but so glad you mentioned how amazing of a guy he is. Total class act in EVERY way. These guys deserve to be WAY bigger, but such is the world we live in.
Saw them in Berlin last year. When they sing harmony it makes you wanna cry, so beautiful. Dave´s bass sound is stellar. What a great band and Joey just kills it on the guitar.
Joey is a legend. I've seen him three times and will take every opportunity to see him. His solo on Whiskey still causes me to gasp as he keeps on developing each time you think he has peaked.
Rhett, I truly appreciate how much you nerd out to Joey Landreth and that band. I saw them last week live, and they blew me away. I've been a fan for years, but it was such a special thing to see them live. Joey is truly a generational talent and is one of the best guitarists walking the earth right now. Everyone knows he will serve you up on guitar, but his vocals...man, they are velvet. Incredible singer and vocalist.
Oh man! Come on! Great call Brett! I found Joey and The Brother's Landreth on That Pedal Show a few years ago, and I've been a fan ever since. His vocal phrasing and soulfulness really conveys the emotion of the music. Obviously, the guitar playing is off the charts. In my opinion, his slide playing, and fellow Canadian Ariel Posen, are in the same league as the brilliant Derek Trucks. Check out Joey's Where Did I Go Wrong, off the Hindsight album.
Hope you don’t mind, just paused the video to go listen to “Got To Be You” because that clip you showed me GOT ME! I’ve been a Joey fan for a while, but for some un-knowable reason never went and listened to any Bros Landreth. My god… it’s just so good
For everyone who's seen Joey on TPS and just listened to the albums (which are great), I second Rhett's point - seem them live if you can. It's another level, especially hearing Joey sing. I never miss them when they come into Philly.
Well said, Rhett. My youngest son turned me on to these guys a few years ago, and I'm a 70 year old musician. And you're right, they are an incredibly gifted group. I've said before that Joey wouldn't even have to do the killer licks on guitar, because I think he has one of the smoothest, best ranged voices in the business. Also, I met Joey after a show in Austin, TX, and as you said, he is one of the nicest, most humble people you'll ever meet. Go see em!
I had the pleasure of seeing the Bros. Landreth in our humble little city of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (a few clicks west of their home base in Winnipeg, Canada) tonight and I have to say you have nailed what makes these guys so great. It was one of the most moving performances I've seen - the 4 part vocal harmony with Joey, his brother Dave, and the producers, Murray and Roman, was so tightly composed it brought tears to my eye. The virtuosity of Joey being one of the greatest guitar players of our time I'm sorry to say was subservient to the incredible songwriting and arrangement talent that drove the songs I heard tonight. The hive mind that is that band ebbed and flowed so dynamically it made me question how I even listen to music. And yet there was Joey - in all his glory - telling stories with that little tube on his pinky that either makes you run to your guitar, or run away from it. I'm a convert. I saw the light.
Met Joey twice in Germany. The Bros Landreth played in a small club near my hometown and I had the chance to shake hands, talk to him and get my guitar signed by Joey. You're absolutely right, humble, kind, fantastic musician(s). Love their music since the first song I heard them and hope they will come to my place again, heading forward for a third meeting, even if again takes me hours of waiting in the cold... :)
Long time fan of Bros Landreth after seeing Joey on @ThatPedalShow and have had many moments just like Mr Shull where Joey just takes your breath away with a part even when it is the 900th time you have heard it. Great songs.
Yeah man. I’m right there with on the Landreth Bros. One of the best guitarists, singers and songwriter alive. They fly in the face of everything that’s wrong with music and the music business today. Thanks for making this video!
I’ve known Joey and the bros landreth since 2016, and can definitely say that guitar playing, singing and songwriting was completely changed in my understanding of it after I started listening to them. I get really happy knowing that other people that I admire as content creators and guitar players also have them as legends of our own time. Great video Rhett!
I’ve known of the Landreth brothers for a while as they are friends with my nephew who also plays professionally with Dallas Smith. They are amazing musicians. Great tribute to these Winnipegers!😀
Rhett - unbelievable! I just set down to eat my lunch here at work and turned on TH-cam to do a little guitar watching. You had literally posted this video 1 minute ago when I opened TH-cam. I already had tickets to see Bros. Landreth tonight here in Kansas City at Knuckleheads. This is a perfect video to get the pre-show adrenaline flowing. Rhett is 100% correct, catch these guys if you can because they are awesome.
Went to see Bros Landreth in Oxford on their UK tour last year … talk about all killer no filler. Man, what a show. Not too many bands are like, really, you gotta see ‘em to understand. They are the real deal. When the crowd’s all in, they find that gear you just can’t quite get to on a record. Get yourself to a show!
I've seen Bros. Landreth live once, but it was an absolutely incredible show. Joey, Dave, and Roman are all incredible musicians in their own right, and wonderful people. Rhett is right; Joey is the kind of player that makes you want to pick up your guitar, not quit altogether.
man. i clicked this video thinking “can the guy be that good?” out of pure curiosity. I’m tearing up listening to his rendition of the Ray song. insane
Got their first album from my oldest daughter as a birthday present. Didn’t listen to it for months. I learned that Joey had gone to school with my son in law, pulled the CD out and have been a fan ever since. I’ve seen them twice in Winnipeg over the years. Never disappointed, never.
Got to meet Joey and the band the other day after seeing them live and they’re incredible! Joey is not just a triple threat but also the nicest guy! Just absolutely the best 🔥
Bro EVERYTHING you said about Joey Landreth and the Bros. Band is exactly my sentiment. From his song writing to his playing knowledge to him just being a really great person!! Makes me want to pick up my guitar every time i hear him play. I was at that show at Eddies Attic. One of the best shows I’ve ever seen and most FUN shows I’ve ever seen. And I’ve seen Derek Trucks, Steely Dan, The Almond Bros and the likes. David was hitting some crazy good bass runs. Roman Clark was so in the pocket it was insane!!! I could sit here and talk about Joey Landreth and the Bros. All day (no homo) Shameless plug…i got the shake Joeys hand and gave him a bro hug at the end of the show 😊 Cool getting to meet you at the show too!!
I saw the bros. Landreth in Brooklyn two ot three weeks before you did, Rhett, the venue was tiny, I was 30 feet away from them at the back of the room. I couldn’t believe I was seeing a band this good in a room this small. I’ll never forget it and I don’t see how I could see a better band that is so probably bound for bigger things in a venue this size again. Wow, just wow. Thanks to you and Zach for turning me on to them.
I tell you what is impresses me ASIDE from how BAD ASS Landreth is and you nailed how great he is.... BUT you will such a warm, honest and endearng love of his music with NO EGO about your own kick ass playing. YOU ARE A GOOD MAN! Thank you!!
I remember hearing about the Bros Landreth years ago in the zeitgeist of the Winnipeg music scene, then I saw them play at the West End Cultural Centre and KNEW right then and there that they were on another level. It's so great to see the getting the attention they deserve! (I echo a lot of other comments, you should check out Ariel Posen next)
First encountered the Bros Landreth in 2018 via That Pedal Show, and went to see them in 2019 in Glasgow, Scotland. Not only was it a consummate performance by the whole band in a fairly small venue, the band wandered in about 40 minutes before the gig and proceeded to eat their dinner in the same space that fans were gathering in, and then afterwards sold their own merch! Somehow, there was a mismatch between the quality of the musicianship and the 'down to earth' realities of a gigging band without the showy backup of a large record label. It was phenomenal, and restored faith in the integrith and authenticity of rock music in the independent sector...
This is a great video Rhett, I knew there were other people out there who are just in awe. I’ve Been a huge fan of Bros Landreth for years now. When Ryan Voth was in drums it was so hard to describe to people how you could also see the feel, you cannot teach that. thanks Rhett.
I’ve been a subscriber of your channel since you started. This is also about the fifth time I’ve watched you geek out on this amazingly talented band. I saw them live in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada in 2022. My brother and I had the incredible pleasure of sitting directly in front of Joey. ❤ One of the biggest surprises is how quiet they can play and still sound incredible. Then they break out into bombastic sound. Purely awesome! Thanks for sharing your love and opinions with all of us mortals.
Have been a fan for years and finally had a chance to see them live in Austin, TX this past weekend. They are incredible musicians always serving the song and never showing off for the sake of it. Could not agree more with Rhett’s statement that they are a triple threat, a rare find these days. Glad you’re highlighting such an amazing, undernoticed band with your audience.
I got to see them last winter here in Canada . Phenomenal musicians . The room was fixated on them . Also was really cool to be in the same room as a two rock amp!
I first discovered Joey from that Collings video of him doing the Ray Charles song. I was floored, been a huge fan of their work ever since. And you nailed it when you said that his talent as a songwriter is just as impressive as his playing. I've found more and more that my favorite players all all amazing songwriters who happen to be killer players as well.
I just saw the Bros last night in Colorado Springs. I drove 5 hours to go see them and it was totally worth it! Maybe the best musical experience ever.
I went and saw the Bros Landreth back in October, it was like a 100 people only and it was the best show I've seen ever. Joey is mind blowing on guitar, and he is an awesome singer.
You couldn't of said it better about how watching him play made you just want to play guitar. I felt the same way after seeing them this past weekend. Was worth driving 9ish hours round trip and then to go to work as soon as I got home! Just an absolutely phenomenal player and person.
The song "Something" of of '87 wouldn't leave my brain alone for about 5 months after the album came out. I tuned my only electric to that open c for like 2 years after learning it just from listening, incredible writer!
Man! We got hit the same way. From the first few notes of that song, I was mesmerized and totally pulled in. Played it for almost everyone that got in my car for months. Got my wife, kids, friends, coworkers all introduced the the Brother Landreth. Mostly starting with Something.
The first time I hear this man and his band. holy shit Rhett, I don't know how to thank you . Immediately sent this to my daughter, she really loves this kind of sweet music and so do I. Thanks again for sharing this. it is really really special.
I love Joey’s ‘Whiskey’ record! I agree wholeheartedly with Rhett here. He is definitely someone people must dig deep into for endless inspiration on guitar. Thank you, Rhett for introducing me to his music a few years ago. It’s been a real blessing uncovering his catalog of songs.
Yes indeed, kind-humble-Canadians. Joey and the band members they’ve have over the years are incredible. They also sound amazing at an incredibly comfortable volume live. ❤🇨🇦❤️
Joey is, as you said, incredibly humble. I recall chatting with him at small festival in Northern Ontario after he had just released his solo album "Whiskey" and mentioned that I felt that he should be on stage at Crossroads as he was deserved of that good company. He was nonchalant but clearly appreciative. Glad to see that he and his brother are finally getting the recognition that they deserve . . . .and performing at Crossroads.
I live in Winnipeg where Joey lives. I first saw him when he was 19 or 20 at Le Garage Cafe and I could tell within about 30 seconds that he had the magic. Great guy great musician.
Man thank you for this. Even as a guitarist and musician myself I feel like I’ve been searching for this songs all my life. Haven’t been so happy for discovering new music in a while.
When I pulled up TH-cam, the first video was this one. I was really excited! They’re definitely my favorite band right now and I agree with everything you said in the video! Amazing!
Just caught them at Fitzgerald's up in Berwyn, IL back in April. Can't thank you enough, Rhett, for this video and putting them on my radar. Just an amazingly great band; aren't enough superlatives to describe how terrific they are! As Rhett says, if they're playing anywhere near you...GO!!! You'll be glad you did.
I’m shocked and amazed. Gonna have to hear it LIVE! Thanks for sharing! Content like this makes me glad I subscribed Rhett! Joey Landreth got that soul!!
ThatPedalShow turned me onto the Bros Landreth about 8 years ago. Just got to see them in Fort Worth for the first time this past weekend and it was incredible! As Mick Taylor said years ago, “they are inspiration incarnate!”
I love these guys. Fellow Canadians. Caught them in my city last year and it was unbelievable. Agree with everything you said in this video. More people need to see these guys.
Ariel Posen, former member of The Bros Landreth band is another awesome (slide) player, singer, songwriter. I don't know what's in the water up in Winnipeg but all of these guys are killin' it!

I just posted about Ariel. I lean towards his playing & songwriting chops
Yeah major AP vibes with the slide stuff
I came across them several years ago. I spread them around a little but I've mostly kept them to my self as most non musicians don't really appreciate the music. Yeah they kinda like it and it doesn't suck but that's about as good as they can say lol.
Ariel goes overlooked far too often

Agreed. That would be a helluva concert bill!
Love Blake Mills. A total G.... Derek Trucks, Marcus King and JD Simo I would add to that list
any recommendations from blake mills? I only know him from that one viulfpeck track, rango II
@@max_mittler “if i’m unworthy” is incredible and although subtle, i really enjoy “open mind” with Jack Johnson
Amen!
It's great to see other people fall in love with these guys. Rhett, you and I don't know each other but I'm 100% certain we could sit together, enjoy a drink and talk Bros Landreth all night. Thanks for spreading the word!

All Canadian as well... 😉
His voice is butter, and playing is so musical and dynamic. The whole band is tremendous!

The song 'Greenhouse' on Let It Lie is a sublime piece of writing, musically and lyrically. He is a huge talent.
I've listened to that one hundreds of times and it still hits me hard. It takes true talent to leave a mark like that with a song.

Yep, Joey simply makes you proud to be Canadian :) 🍁
Great episode. So many valuable insights. It's great to see younger players who have such a strong sense of melody and dynamics, not to mention superb musicianship. The Lowell George influence is undeniable, but not overdone. Wonderful to hear music like this.
This is the sort of music old, smoky bars were made for. They remind me of some of the bands I used to see in the '80s, while hair metal was all the fad, and you'd have these guys who just slayed it in a three-piece with drums and bass playing the blues or mellow jazz. So great to see music like this still being made and appreciated.
Sounds like the Sultans of Swing…
I can honestly listen for hours… catatonic to the tone. Not enough words to describe his feel.
Insane.
Agree, and his string guage will make your fingers bleed.
The open tuning is the secret
@@throwaway6405 Open tuning makes even harder.
@@acompres Sorry, but why do you think that?
I grew up in Winnipeg watching a few different bands that Joey played in; he's such a humble man and inspirational guitarist!
Dito.
@@jeremeberg5900 Do I know you from somewhere?
I second every word here, Joey is just the greatest, nicest guy
I’ve been patiently waiting for the Joey episode so thanks!
Great and extremely important video to be made, Rhett. Congrats!!
Saw them in Berlin last year. When they sing harmony it makes you wanna cry, so beautiful. Dave´s bass sound is stellar. What a great band and Joey just kills it on the guitar.
How wonderful and refreshing to delight in good music! Praise God for these guys’ contribution to the world.
My god… it’s just so good
Never ever would have heard of him without your video. You're right...very inspiring. He has one more fan now.
Thanks Rhett
For everyone who's seen Joey on TPS and just listened to the albums (which are great), I second Rhett's point - seem them live if you can. It's another level, especially hearing Joey sing. I never miss them when they come into Philly.
I've been following him for years now. He is a killer player! Thank you for this episode. :)
Joey is probably the only guitarist who can get there hairs on the back of the neck to stand up with just a few notes. Genius
Thanks ALOT for showing Mr. Landreth for me!!!! He is amazing!!!
Saw them in Chicago a few times now. They deserve all the success and more 🤘🏻
I’ve known Joey and the bros landreth since 2016, and can definitely say that guitar playing, singing and songwriting was completely changed in my understanding of it after I started listening to them. I get really happy knowing that other people that I admire as content creators and guitar players also have them as legends of our own time. Great video Rhett!
It’s just unbelievable. Seems like such a cool guy too.
I met him at the Beaumont (Alberta) Blues & Roots Fest, and he truly is a cool guy. Super humble and just a nice person.
I’ve known of the Landreth brothers for a while as they are friends with my nephew who also plays professionally with Dallas Smith. They are amazing musicians. Great tribute to these Winnipegers!😀
1:39 "Bluesy Greasy Grooves". What an amazing Band/Album name Rhett. I'm here for it LOL 😅
Been a fan since their first album. They are absolutely amazing live, seen them twice. Great Canadian band btw!🍁
THANK YOU for reinforcing the fact that there is still good music being made today. It just needs to be discovered.
His buddy Seth Lee Jones is also a monster singer and guitarist. Oh, and he also builds amazing guitars. That dude needs some love.
man. i clicked this video thinking “can the guy be that good?” out of pure curiosity.
I appreciate this introduction. I just watched his slide class yesterday. Thanks for highlighting great musicians, I look forward to digging in.
Got to meet Joey and the band the other day after seeing them live and they’re incredible! Joey is not just a triple threat but also the nicest guy! Just absolutely the best 🔥
Been listening to Joey for years and is one of my favorite guitarists! Grateful to see the love being shown to an underrated and talented artist.
All day (no homo)
Shameless plug…i got the shake Joeys hand and gave him a bro hug at the end of the show 😊
Cool getting to meet you at the show too!!
As a Canadian who has loved these boys for a while, good taste Rhett! Love seeing the crossover.
I was at that show too, right in front, it was amazing. What chemistry.
I saw Joey and Dave on some guitar shop demo video years ago, and within 5 seconds (not kidding), I was totally 100% sold. Been a huge fan ever sense.
One of the biggest surprises is how quiet they can play and still sound incredible. Then they break out into bombastic sound. Purely awesome!
Thanks for sharing your love and opinions with all of us mortals.
Thank you for sharing this guy and his band with all of us. I’m going to proceed to listen to his entire discography. He plays and sounds amazing!
Rhett speaks the truth, i just saw them on this tour a few weeks ago and they were amazing. Joey is the real deal...they all are.
And on top of all that skill, he’s also a super sweet and funny dude! He gives away his tone secrets and pedalboard setups on his TH-cam page
My wife and I saw them in Nashville last Thursday. They were perfect, such an amazing show!!!
Been following Joey for a long time. He is insane, he deserves all the praise.
