My one gripe with the compilations was that you didn't give us a final image with every weapon of the type in their respective tiers, to keep it easily readable! Thank you for this!
also the lack of timestamps and that peeJon didn't even attempt to edit the videos together, it was just [video 1 ends- video 2 starts] so this video is very welcome
I 100% agree, the weathered 10mm is a run staple for me too because of the silencer. Also it saves you a ton of money because 10mm is so easy to find so you won’t spend too much on ammo in the early game
@@acrozombiethe2nd887 I dunno, man. I think part of the fun with "bad equipment" runs in any game is knowing and utilizing other aspects of the game to somewhat overcome the objective badness of the run's shtick. Bad weapons + bad perks will only serve to make a run super tedious and un-fun.
I’m doing a “10 kills with every weapon” run and intentionally getting the bad ones out of the way first. First time I’ve ever used some of these weapons, and some of them are really bad. Boxing tape to knock out weak enemies and then swap to a BB gun to finish them off works. Pulse mines were the most frustrating of the bunch, resorted to just reverse pickpocketing them. Reverse pickpocketing C-4 is absolutely hilarious.
Plus it has a cool Mexican flag. I'm not Mexican mind you, I just think it's really cool to have on a weapon. Kinda like how when they required us to wear masks, I wore a Mexican flag mask I saw at a store and impulsed buyed because I thought it looked nice, even though I'm a white guy from Nebraska who doesn't speak a word of Spanish, or is even remotely related to Spainairds or Hispanics in general.
Funnily enough, the La Longue Carabine is technically a unique BB gun of all things, at least for new vegas. It's functionally a scoped Lincoln's repeater from 3 or lever action rifle from point lookout, but within new vegas, nothing but the BB guns have the same animation set and model. That "pour in the BBs" reload is absolutely absurd and makes it so fun to use 😩👌
I love your videos. Very informative but also nice to have on while I do work. You have a nice way of speaking and your enthusiasm is infectious. Thank you for covering this old game.
.357 remains S tier for me because it glitched out on one playthrough and it kept leveling with my gun skill, meaning it became the best handgun in game. Never got the repeat of that glitch sadly
Love to see it, I ended my first melee only playthrough bc of your videos. Really made me appreciate the build flexibility the devs put into the game. Way to solo carry the FVN content, you have truly put the community in your JanSport
Comparing Survivalist Rifle and Medicine Stick has been a must lately. It's basically the ultimate weapons of both cowboy and grunt. May as well be doing ALSID vs Ranger Sequioa as well since thsyre the ultimate handguns of their class
The weapons in fallout nv for the most part are balanced so well. Alot is viable in the game, which is amazing. You can use what you want for the most part
Grunt perk only effect guns from the base game and the honest hearts dlc, thats why it does not effect the gun runners arsenal dlc guns. I play Jsawyer mod though that fixes that. For some reason I think it makes marksman carbine not grunt though.
Ive been liking the service rifle lately and honestly i never knew how fast the gunplay could be in a gunfight in new vegas, i always take the built to destroy trait and fast shot because i dont care about weapon degradation or accuracy and the buffs to speed and crit chance is amazing accross the entire weapon choices. Anyway, i started using those perks because i usually like to use revolvers and lever guns and shot guns and they are all pretty slow and the 20% speed buff when shooting helps in a pinch, but these traits do the same thing but better to the service rifle. Its just amazing. Plus i have max agility and rapid reload so my service rifle feels like an assault carbine with exponentially higher crit chance.
I think the 10mm SMGs are rather weak in this game because they aren’t affected by Grunt, but one could argue that it would render the 9mms obsolete at a certain point. Still, I would think a 10mm SMG would pack a pretty significant punch. Sleepytyme is the exception, however because that weapon is simply excellent regardless.
Glad to see you show some real love for the cowboy repeater; that gun does have piss poor sights but it’s damn solid in every other way. I think you’re underrating La Longue Carabine, though. Not because it isn’t difficult or inconvenient to get, because it is. But it’s better than a modded cowboy repeater in my opinion, in terms of damage, accuracy, reload speed. It’s actually quite strong. But it is a pain in the balls to acquire. And plus I like old Sterling. If I do grab it from him, I try to make sure to swap a scoped trail carbine and a bunch of .44 rounds. It’s only fair.
I would make a case for the modded hunting rifle to be low S tier. On the sniper builds it was designed for, you can easily be getting one shot kills into the late game and even dlcs. The scope mod is the best reticle in the game and is lined up perfectly with how the rifle actually patterns, unlike a lot of new Vegas weapons (you can test this by lining up the cursor perfectly up to a target, aiming, and seeing if the sights are actually aligned on that target)
I would like to believe that some of my comments has something to do with the creation of this video 😂. Thank you so much! Honestly i love your content.
You can sneak crit the weapon off his back then immediately holster your weapon and he won't mind It'll either break the item, leaving it on the ground, or damage it, making it easier to pickpocket it (it's tied to item value)

It’s extremely heavy and impractical. Basically only useful for things like the final set of fights where you know you’ll be dealing with swarms of nontrivial enemies.
The rat slayer is my favorite weapon in all of fallout. It will always be s tier for me but tbf it’s only s tier w a crit build. Otherwise high b/low a
The single biggest thing that brings down the Bozar is the piss poor damage per shot. 19 is absolutely pathetic. It should have been just below the LMG in terms of damage, but perhaps it was intended to be affected by Grunt. Either way, the damage would still be a little lower than I’d like. I think the only way to really make good use of the Bozar is with trigger discipline and match rounds. And even then it’s still a little underwhelming, which is unfortunate.
I really dislike the fact that you keep mentioning the fact of wether you can or can't "sneak in" weapons There are only like 2 quests in which you require a weapon in a "holdout" area so what's the point of making it such a big deal??????? A couple of differences here for me. 1. 12.7 SMG is the worst SMG. Small magazine, low accuracy, expensive and rare ammunition, only good at melee range. C tier at best, maybe even D. 2. Lever-action shotgun is not the best 20g shotgun. The reload time is horrendous and it’s terrible for fights where you need to reload. The sustained rate of fire on the caravan is probably faster given the fast reload. Probably C tier if not D. 3. The fully modded Varmint (at least suppressor and scope) isn’t that much worse than the Ratslayer. Long range silenced weapons are ridiculous. Not S tier or anything, but easily B for the modded. 4. Minigun is pretty bad. The assault carbine does very similar things and weighs a lot less. If you were fighting an absolute horde of enemies it’d be OK but that almost never happens. The unique version is worse as the smaller magazine size means you probably will have to do at least one painfully slow reload in a longer fight. C tier at best for both.
I'm sorry bit his rankings for the grenade launcher and the grenade rifle should be switched... the launcher does more dps and DAM and holds 4 rounds rather than 1.
