- We're going to use Evercoat Feather Fill G2 Primer on Tim's 1985 Fiero GT. We'll show you the full process in real time from mixing up the primer, spraying the primer, to cleaning the gun. We're going to spray all the areas that need it most first before we coat the whole car 🚨

I had a 1985 Fiero GT that was the older body style. I believe this is a 1986 Fiero GT.

This Fiero is gonna look sweet .I think years ago they called them the poor man's Ferrari ..its a small hood and roof I think you got lots of primer to fix those areas. Looking Good Chad looking Good. I miss my spray painting days.

Awesome video as usual. I like that your doing something different on the chopped top. At first I really wanted to see it as a station wagon roof but the rumble seat and swing out rear window is a very cool feature. This channel you get knowledge with entertainment. One of my favorites!

Chad, Thank you very much for the Windex suggestion. I saw it when you cleaned the Ford after pulling out of the container. I now use window cleaner to clean the gel coat and graphics on our Class A fiberglass RV. It works great! Best wishes, Kevin
Just a question,won't the clear because it was lifting,continue to lift even though you have paint over it. Would there not be a reason for it to lift in the first place
Lots of paint went into that front bumper, I hope the inter-cooler (if auto) and or radiator were taped off

If you turn the tube of hardener upside down the measurements on the tube are right. Been watching yall for a while keep up the custom work..

A little paper, a little tape, put on some primer, it's taking, shape ....... It won't be long, it will be ready for paint. I truly believe Chad will make it look great, and, thank goodness we have Jolene to preserve it on tape

I learned about the cheap wax and grease remover as well as the windex trick from you and I like those ideas instead of the expensive, harsh chemicals. I have been doing body, paint and upholstery for a long time. Keep on rocking!

That squealing noise sounds to me like a partial blockage of your air cap maybe? Is the very small spray pattern set on purpose, or does the gun need a real good clean out in paint stripper? Seems a very slim spray pattern to my eyes, and was just wondering. A wider fan pattern makes the job much quicker. I use wax and grease remover before I spray. Many YT painters also use it as the final wipe prep. Interesting.
Red was my Dad's favorite color and this shade in particular. Good to see things that remind me of the time we had together. This car is going to look great when done.
When you started spraying the primer, the spraygun sounds like my airbrush when there's a booger in it and it needs a good cleaning, usually in the tip then it work good.
Just asking dont know, you didnt have to rinse off car and panels after sanding before primer, just blew off dust?

Hi Chad: I think the Pontiac Fiero is a nice diversion from the Jaguar and all the fuss that car has created.
One thing I find very disappointing about your Channel is the lack of your communication back, to each of the your viewers comments.
If a viewer takes the time to ask a question. Then out of respect, you should try your best to respond.
Yes we are all busy. But you are one of the very few TH-camrs that does respond to questions.
Vice Grip Garage, always acknowledges a viewer’s comment and usually gives a answer. They have a very large viewership.

When people buy spray cans of primer to patch their car up, I guess this is what they envision. unfortunately that Canadian Tire primer is only good on models.

Looking much better Chad, I'm not sure but I think the paint jobs from the 80's from the factories were not done very well to began with.
We do appreciate you showing how to do things cost effective. Most of us cannot afford those car custom shops on TV and their $500,000 jobs

Chad, I think you were reading the level of the hardener for the primer upside-down. You want to hold it with the cap down, and the black part of the circle indicates the hardener level. Also a bit daring not to filter the primer at all, but you mostly got away with it. I was wondering if it would set before you finished spraying.
I think the hood is telegraphing the ghosts of painters past in orange peel on the base coat. Fiberfill is good stuff, but that one's a challenge. I am impressed with how fast you're moving. Does Harley get her prom car?
I think this will come out fine Chad and the colour - Red with Silver waist down and black trim will look fine IMO.

I went through the fiery plant when they first came out, I believe that it was the first GM plant that was fully mechanized, all computers and robots. All the painted panels are for appearance only. Space frame ridged high strength steel construction, one of the safest cars ever built. Ironically they didn’t sell well because people weren’t keen on the idea of a plastic car, all the Saturn and Pontiac transport van were built on the same platform. Repaired a lot of them in the collision business over the years that totaled the other car in the accident. You can remove all the painted parts from the fiero and still drive it. Most of the the panels have some type of special rivets/ metal and plastic/ that hold them on. Failed because they were ahead of their time and not marketed right to the public.
Chad. Question for you. Do you use a flex additive in your primer or paint on plastic parts?
Is the reason you’re spraying it such a long distance because of the thickness of the material
FYI the blow gun I use is a male and a female quick connect hose fitting it’s small cheap and fits right in my pocket.
Making it look easy. No fancy overpriced gun. Just get er done.

FYI the Fiero emblem on the nose is an easy thing to remove. Might make for a nicer paint job. just a thought.

The markings on the tube of harbner read correctly when the tube is upside down as if you are dispensing it into the primer.
