Best keyboard ever made in my opinion. I paid a little less then $100.00 for it, it has USB pass through perfect for drawing tablet's or USB flash. All keys are programmable, thanks god no extra buttons or knobs will only break in backpack and takes so much space. The carbon or Aluminum top case on this keyboard is just perfect. The actual keyboard feels very rich, very classy and elegant. In all honesty I would choose this keyboard over majority of the keyboards on the market. It's actually replacing a 200.00 Keyboard that I accidentally spilled coffee over and I have no regrets. Also perfect for SC2 (RTS games)
Great review! Was worried this one wouldn’t work for mac and I saw a couple comments saying it would on reddit but I needed more confirmation. It doesn’t say it works with Mac on the Logitech website, but this review proved it works. Thanks again.
For anyone wondering the keycaps r switchable if you have the clicky blue switches! Just make sure the keycaps ur buying is compatible with cherry X switches

I have G613 with Roamer-G tactile for 2-3months now, it is wireless and without the rgb lighting. Tomorrow I'm gonna buy G512 with GX Blue switches. So for me i think roamer-G tactile is good for quiet and typing and gx blue for gaming. What the tactile switches lacking are they never give me the feel of that clicky 9:44 whenever i try to randomly press with them just to hear that satisfying sound
The problem with this keyboard is that u have to set brightness low by manually pressing FN+F7 everytime when u turn on your PC or restart. U cannot set automatically.
I had a K70 (mx blue) then K68 RGB (mx red) now K95 Platinum (mx silver) and i hated every since keyboard other than the one with mx blue, I type more than I game so lets go this impresses me.

The Blue Clicky keys are a little noisy. Are you set on the 512? You can try getting the GX Brown (Tactile), GX Red (Linear) which would be quieter than the Blue. And maybe a set of O rings to quiet the keys from bottoming out if sound is something that you are looking to minimize.

@@TisforTech Hi, yes! same link. scroll down a bit. in 2 of 3 videos the secondary symbols are shown having illumination. Also at the near bottom where you get to choose and buy according to the switch type the images on the left also shows that. I guess it has to do something with the switch type. Today I got the GX brown variant and I can confirm it doesn't have the secondary symbols illumination. :(:
Oh weird. I didn't notice the first time but yeah they show a pic that has illuminated. However every version I've seen of this board they aren't. Wonder what the deal is...
Honestly any switch is decent it all comes down to preference I normally would recommend red linears since they aren’t that loud for gaming and playing with friends you don’t want them complaining about the noise

Only thing I can think of would be to replace the spacebar key switch with something stiffer. However these switches are soldered on so that isn't an easy task.
Idk if anyone is gonna read this after 2 years but aftrer watching ur video i rly liked the keyboard and purchased it but theres a problem and a am really desesperate ater litterally trying everything tonfix it. Basecally i have a lenovo latop which runs windows 10 and has one usb port on one side and another ine at the oter . And when i plug both usb cables the keyboard doesnt work at all . I brought it to a nearby tech center and they sais that it worked perfectly fine on their computer... Plsss heeelpp im loosing hope

Hey man, yeah. I was using my G7X Mark II on an overhead setup and I have no idea why it turned out like that. Romer g has less bleed and is more clean generally, it’s sad they never made a clicky version

One of the plugs is for the USB passthrough, so if you aren't using that you can just use the one that powers and controls the board.
Are the keys soft and is there much difference other than colour in the gx brown and gx blue
Difference in feel. Blue are clicky feel/sound and Brown are tactile. Little quieter and don't make as loud of a clicky sound but still have a feel.

You can swap the keycaps, pretty sure you can't easily swap the switches.

What is a USB pass through?
It's an additional USB port on the keyboard with power/data. So you can plug something else in. Like a mouse or whatever.

It's a standard USB keyboard. You can just plug it in and use it. However customization requires the software.
