I just thought of this, but just try down clocking your CPU to factory settings if it fixes the problem for you. I know it's not your computer, but I've heard games can behave weirdly when CPUs are overclocked. Just a thought....

Dovetail should just re-build this route from the ground up (Doubt they will) I mean everytime they “fix” something they always add another bug. Dovetail just cuts so many corners when it comes to U.S content. The only thing I think Dovetail will do with this route is shove it in a closet in the basement with the label “things to forget”💀
Yea they seem to take pride in their UK BS which it seem what they built the game really for they just tolerate us if you wanna think about it that way because we Continuous get shat on in tsw and TSC just search dovetail UK products vs USA product we can’t even get a damn metrolink logo for TSC but the routes and rolling stock for the UK are above average with refreshing assets while our routes we gotta reuse a lot of assets and borrow from those routes thankfully our community know how to get creative and make a custom building out of several 😂kinda like kit bashing
Good idea, except as we have seen from the "new" LIRR commuter route that was released last month, they would probably just end up charging the redone route at full price, even if you've already owned the original route.
Dovetail definitely cares more about European routes more than North American content, take steam for example... it's only been British steam content and nothing american
They don't even care more about Europe, it's just the UK. Many German Routes are also in a poor state. Broken trains, wrong signalling and the poor state of some rolling stock (mostly sound) are just devastating. DTGs mentality of providing almost no after-release support is really getting on my nerve in recent months. No wonder why I mostly enjoy to drive the UK routes...
They even release UK routes that are complete dogshit and terrible products 🤣🤣🤣. If you want any quality for your money, look anywhere else but dovetail
Glad to see somebody making a video highlighting some of the practices that dtg employ. I gave up on tsw when they announced 4, i know we probably wont get any of the fixes we need because looked what happened to 2. And whats the incentive of buying 4 when we know exactly the same thing will happen when tsw 5 comes out next year. Its just a joke at this point, we've paid good money for our routes and look how we get treated. Im glad i didnt buy into the tsw 4 hype as seeing how the release has gone its exactly what i expected to be honest. I was excited for the blackpool route and pacers but so much for that. And always wanted to drive the azuna but enough is enough. This needs to be common knowledge how dtg are as a company.
In my opinion, the timetable itself is excellent but has exposed glaring optimization flaws with the rail vehicles it makes extensive use of. It seems as if a good portion of the AI traffic is processing much more behind the scenes than is actually necessary, with the alerter going off on passing AI trains being a great example. Do you know what really annoys me about train Sim world? Is it really Not train Sim world? It’s more like train Sim Europe, and we only adding American route so we can be called a train Sim world so no one can complain that we’re not train Sim world with just focus on European made roots I know some of the European mad retard problems, but the German roots are always 100 times better no matter what they just seem like. There’s a lot more care and fought for them even though there are a lot of problems still on them but it just seems like they don’t really care about you American roots. Any time that people ask can you do this route in this country they give out a straight excuse. Yeah we kind of don’t want to do them because we have to learn the new operating system and signal system and all that and it just takes time and it’s not worth it. I really hope someone from Dovetail and the TSW dev team sees this video and the other videos like it. While I personally haven’t experienced any massive issues on my Xbox One X console, it is really depressing that so many people have so many issues. 😢Overall my TSW 4 experience *so far* has actually been noticeably better than my TSW 3 experience, at least compared to TSW 3 at launch. 😅

TSW4 represents 10 years of development using Unreal engine, and this is the best they can do. These routes look flat, the draw distance is too short, and shadows and scenery often pop up out of nowhere. The editor is not usable in its current state, as it has trouble saving terrain, among other things. Derail Valley has so many of these things already sorted. This development team is simply sub par.
You're right on XBox series X the game doesn't stutter, it does crash a lot and you can't use any of the custom liveries that you downloaded from the creators club. This game has a lot of issues that needs to be fixed. This game feels as though it should still be in the BEATA testing phase.

It is horribly optimized, when the timetable came out I thought the performance would be fine as I have a good PC but of course the performance is shit. I have changed some settings around so it runs fine now.
What an absolute shambles. I get frequent stuttering and lag on my end too. I play on PC, but the only spec I can remember is the 16GB of ram. This has to be one of the most disastrous and embarrassing fails in TSW history. The original route was already awful, but DTG somehow made it even worse with this new timetable. I would say they've crossed the line with this one, but they already did that back when they announced TSW3. Why I still play this game at this point is anyone's guess.
Whats funny TSW4 runs extremely smooth on linux mint with Vulkan. Vulkan compiles the shaders of the whole game before you play it, then you never have to mess with it again. I am using a 13600k at 5.4ghz 32gb of ram, and a 4070ti. and i get the same problem in windows 11.
I just hopped on the route and I have the subway route as well. I’ll be honest it looks and performs better on my Xbox x compared to your Pc…but the route is still poorly optimized. It’s playable but the second you go to photo mode it crashes the game due to out space on the graphics card basically
I am not separated by the way dovetail treats US / North American content, I really want North American content to be trusted the absolute passion and care we deserve. A good amount of the blame should go to Dovetail Games parent company Focus Interactive.
Focus entertainment doesn't do anything though. They never got involved in any past games like plague tale or snowrunner and let the developers do what they want

I think the problem is TSW4. With all the extra shit they put in the game, no wonder NY-Trenton Timetable sucks. I am honestly sad that this route was done with the whole rush hour thing that they did for TSW2 instead of Boston Sprinter, since that game was able to handle the heavier timetable from London Commuter.
London commuter has only 2 trains that are also lighter to render then the American locos and wagons. And most of the 1400+ train journeys don’t end in London Victoria so you see less trains at the station anyway
During my testing, bml uses much less memory compared to new york trenton. Bml uses about 6gb. Trenton uses at most 13gb on my laptop and at least 11gb on medium/high settings. Thousands of services don't mean as much as the number of trains. London victoria only has 4 trains while penn has 7 trains (cab car is a train too). The services are also not all concentrated at victoria, it's all throughout the route. While penn station is all at penn station. Same with sehs. Not all trains and stations are at one station only. They're all over
It is streamed in using the cloud, otherwise you would need a nasa computer to even be able to run it. If you also zoom in all the way, the texturing isn't great either which saves on performance. So high up in the air, it looks great but up close, not really
This route was not built for train sim world 4 and the update was meant for 3. I feel like they had issues because instead of releasing it in tsw3 like they were supposed to, they forced it into release with tsw 4. If this was originally released for tsw 3 and they would have not been greedy we would've gotten everything we were supposed. Think about it, during all the streams before TSW 4 was released the updates we got on this route was sounding beautiful, but once TSW 4 gets announced they want to move it to 4. Therefore, rushing progress AGAIN cause of a set date and not releasing they would have issue because of their greed. WE REALLY NEED TO STOP SUPPORTING THIS COMPANY SO THEY CAN IMPROVE. Put that in the forum.
3 and 4 have the same game engine so the new timetable should be working. The biggest problem I guess is that Penn station is an old build. They just imported it from the LIRR which is a copy from NEC NYC. One of the very early maps from TSW2020. That’s why the tunnels look so shit as well. DTG should have build a new Penn station but I doubt that’s ever going to happen
If there was another good train sim that fits my needs, I would probably change train sims. But there really isn't which is why I buy each summer release even though I don't like it. I didn't buy simrail because I have zero interest in multiplayer. I didn't buy derail valley because I don't like the gameplay Other train sims: too hardcore and/or unintuitive
I have similar thoughts on Derail Valley. And as much as I want to up sticks and boycott DTG, there isn't really any other railway game that fits my interests besides TS classic.
TS Classic had the constant stuttering to the point where I had to run a scenario with only the player controlled train operational with no AI and it sucked, became boring as hell. TSW4 is starting to behave in a stuttery manner too even on Doncaster to Peterborough route and what I've heard, it could be the trees not rendering properly or m8ght even have to do with rain or volumetric fog since those are the only enhancements to visuals.
TSW video games just need to be moved onto a newer games engine now. Part 4 should really be the last one still functioning on last gen tech. But I reckon as long as DTG knows there are superfans that will lap up this garbage - they ain't changing nothing.

It's not as complex as MSFS2020 that eats thru the processors every second detailing any direction you go in. It's a routine train sim game with a set A to B route that should be easy to optimize.

The American stuff is bad, German stuff still don't work and UK is not much better. Yeah American stuff is the worst. I have over 100 bugs and when I contacted dovetail they said send a ticket. Hell no, dovetail will have to pay me for there bugs before I tell them, I spent over $500 on there crap im not helping them. Tsw4 still have the issue with the objects not loading in until the last second so like trees and buildings randomly pop up ?
I am having no stutter on series x but the ai seem to be running full speed then rear ending each other and bricking the service.

At the station I jump between 14,20 and 60 fps and out of it it stables abit but I get the stutters I don’t get that fps good and stutters

More fed up with getting taken out by your safety systems just after the tunnel, no driver can brake the train down that quickly so you get taken out.
DTG increased prices for all old DLC. A video or a word about those greedy tactics?

Flight Simulator uses powerful cloud backup from Microsoft and has a budget 3 times the size of TSW. Of course it works better

I have similar thoughts on Derail Valley. And as much as I want to up sticks and boycott DTG, there isn't really any other railway game that fits my interests besides TS classic.

If you realize that xbox series x is like a high end of a pc 🖥 with 12 tra flops twice as powerful of the xbox one x that has 6 tra flops
TS Classic had the constant stuttering to the point where I had to run a scenario with only the player controlled train operational with no AI and it sucked, became boring as hell. TSW4 is starting to behave in a stuttery manner too even on Doncaster to Peterborough route and what I've heard, it could be the trees not rendering properly or m8ght even have to do with rain or volumetric fog since those are the only enhancements to visuals.

TSW video games just need to be moved onto a newer games engine now. Part 4 should really be the last one still functioning on last gen tech. But I reckon as long as DTG knows there are superfans that will lap up this garbage - they ain't changing nothing.
Series s is next gen but only has 8gb of memory so it's still last gen. So it should only be xbox series x, ps5 and pc.
@@potatoman451Perhaps but it's still rated as minimum current gen hardware regardless of the 8GB memory. I just think DTG are very sloppy at fine tuning their sim games. It's not as complex as MSFS2020 that eats thru the processors every second detailing any direction you go in. It's a routine train sim game with a set A to B route that should be easy to optimize.

I’m fully convinced DTG hates the U.S. I’m sick of the excuses sick of only British steam sick of them having no problems stacking 3000 scenarios/timetables on a British route yet every single American route gets shafted. They treat us like the United States consists of only cAlIFoRnIA or yankee York. Dovetail hire me so I can do what y’all obviously won’t

DTG say they're not biased with their UK content but we all know that they're absolutely biased with their UK content. I think they're mostly focused on completing the entire railway map of the UK to please their 'lil British fanboys. 😂
I can’t believe u said that Xbox runs better I had more dlc on Xbox and sold it for steam version and now still don’t have the content I had on Xbox but now my Xbox is gone wow and I thought the pc had a better community wow
Its Dovetail at fault not your pc hardware or Steam.
Its always been the same on all TSW since they moved to UE regardless of pc spec

The American stuff is bad, German stuff still don't work and UK is not much better. Yeah American stuff is the worst. I have over 100 bugs and when I contacted dovetail they said send a ticket. Hell no, dovetail will have to pay me for there bugs before I tell them, I spent over $500 on there crap im not helping them. You highlighted the American I got a list with BR and German stuff thats never been fixed. Thats why this edition can go ************** for me its game over. Good luck ya going to need it!!!
