- Momo Homes announced their expansion into the United States market at the International Builders Show in Las Vegas. They've got a line of prefab homes ranging from an ADU to single family homes over 2,000 square feet. Before the show I hadn't heard of Momo so it was interesting to find out what they're doing and how they're doing it. In this video I tour the ADU they set up at the show, learn about their business model and talk about some of the things that set them apart. Watch and learn more about then newest prefab home company with homes available in America.

Seeing a floor plan is always much appreciated.
I would fill in the L in favour of more living/kitchen/dining space.

MoMo needs to list all the developers they're working with so I can get a quote!
Thats a great idea
These guys would make a killing in Canada especially with their 2 storey homes.
Nice find! But the lady only told us about the price of the solar, not the unit.
I love the layout
Seems perfect for me. If their warehouse is the sea can we get it delivered to any port?? 😂
I like the design. Their website keeps talking about how affordable they are but I don't see any #s. Am I missing it?
That's always a good indication that it's not really affordable. Especially because it's shipped over seas.
What is the price of this, please? This design is very nice!
I have the same question. Can't find a price anywhere.
Buy made in AMERICA

Keep that tin shack
Smart, smart floorplan. Think of how quick you'd be able to clean a house this size; how inexpensive to heat and cool. This is a good one.
Whoa!
This company definitely has my attention!!
Thanks Kerry
Glad to hear it Sean, thanks for watching
Can't wait to hear a price, only then can anyone really decide if it's worth it.
Fair point, I asked… wasn’t available
@@KerryTarnow easily $220K USD
We need Mo homes like this.
Haha! 🥁
Nice! You're forgiven for not opening the closet storage (this time, again) lol. Very spacious feel to it. Nice interviews with the folks who know the building and solar equipment aspects. Like a bonus round. Thanks, Kerry.
Yep. A closet is a closet.
Solar panels & batteries set up…sweet! I believe that off grid living is possible for everyone in North America even in the big cities. That’s my goal when I buy and install a prefab home here in NYC. 🗽
Momo looks like a great company. The home you walked through was solid. I especially liked the kitchen/living room. I’m curious about their bigger homes. I’ll have to check them out more in-depthly. 👀
Great interviews and walkthrough Kerry. I don’t even bother with other prefab homes channels anymore. They are not in your league. Keep it up. 👍
Unfortunately solar in NYC is not very effective that far north, Linus tech tips has some videos on it. IMO not worth the cost that far north :(
consider instead using the money elsewhere for other features? like an electric vehicle or better insulation on your home
NY? by the time you find a lot and pay all the $ to have it built, fees utilities permits it will be a fortune.
Those size solar panels wont keep the Ac or heat going, youll still need to plug in to city utilities
With all respect. My cousin already owns a house in the city (in Inwood) powered with solar panels. And it all came out to a fair price. It would have cost more to buy an apartment in the same neighborhood. So I’m just looking to do the same in the same neighborhood. Just a 16 blocks away.
Thanks for this information. As a single retiree, I'm quite interested in all the aspects of this setup!
Great informative video. Looks comfortable and spacious. I know little about solar but am aware that when the sun goes down at night the lights stay on. Thanks for the video. Much appreciated!
Cheers. Keep us posted! Love ypur work
Thank you 🙏🏻
very nice. not liking that their customer is only developers. who knows what it will cost. also, it sounds like they will be in communities. when going off-grid would be nice to have land and space, not next to neighbors. thanks kerry great presentation as usual.
Impressed with the environmentally friendly approach!
Glad you like it!
I care more about price and dont care about the green thing. Paying $ to overseas construction..its just not american.
Nothing eco friendly in their construction materials and logistics, sorry.
17 MINS! NOT BAD! I LIKE ITS NOT A SLAB FOUNDATION, BAD ON THE LEGS! I LIKE IT! FLAT PACK PANELIZED, WORKS! NICE!
This was a great video you provided. You're getting better. I love the ADU and when I'm ready to go off the grid, this will be the first company I consider. Thank you for sharing
Trying to improve all the time. Thanks 🙌🏼
This is stellar!!...even w/o seeing the closets 😉
Great video! I'll be looking into this. Thanks
Thank you!
Love how many windows there are!
Same
Beautiful. Loved the floor plan. Great living space.
Hey Mary, glad you like it!
Perfect as always buddy!!!
Thank you 🙌🏼
Have you ever considered making a chart (think Tom's Hardware for GPUs) for modular homes? You gather so much info! Perhaps some of big, common questions can be addressed across the builders...
Omg I love this one as well I love black exterior smaller homes that have a big bath and bedroom and a nicely set up kitchen as well you’ve got excellent taste in my opinion here Kerry you’ve been finding killer looking homes here lately man I’m definitely a big fan here thank you so much for all your hard works
This is a great home but I HATE the pop-out windows. Give us windows we can open all the way !!! Some of us like fresh air and some of us like to cook and need the cross breeze. It's amazing how many people like to be sealed inside a box.
pop out windows will give the same effect
@@jamesengland7461 No they don't. My best friend lives with pop-out windows. We both hate them. Impossible to cook too. Even with them open and the vent hood on, it sets off the fire alarm. Open the windows!!!
I think this is a brilliant design. But I do have one question that includes a lot of the off-grid possible homes you have shown in the past, why are these companies designing homes and then slapping ugly solar panels on top? Why not incorporate solar tiles? There are so many options out there that would work beautifully with these style homes yet they continue to destroy the aesthetics by slapping solar panels on top after the fact.
Its a great design but the living and kitchen are just slightly undersized even for a couple. My cats need a little more space. And im sure you can swap out windows. Thats a minor change
,@@robc7752... Thanks for this info, I had never heard of SOLAR TILES before.... that's sound super👍👍👍
That was a great interview kerry. once again, a great video I think these tiny homes will become the future of living. I think they are much better than the standard living. We have today with the features at these tiny homes.
Thanks Dennis! Glad you enjoyed the video 🙌🏼
Kerry, ya did well with this Momo segment. I like the layout, and that it can be off grid power wise. Thanks 👍🏻.
🥶🖤🔔👍🏻❤️
Thanks MBM, glad you enjoyed it 😃
this was a very in depth and informative. Cleared up a lot concerning solar panels for me.
Great!
Really nice, but I'm not seeing insulation in the walls and ceiling. Also, can you purchase a single unit, or do you have to work with a developer? Do these meet the building standards for all states in US? I couldn't find any pricing on their website. Do you have a ballpark price? I did find the floor plan on their website and there is a lot about these that I like - but how to get one is vague at best.
Price finished, on a lot concrete installed will be a fortune. Cant imagine a metal building esp with little to no insulation in Ca
Nice floor plan. Bathroom is a bit large for my taste. BUT I love love the solar panels and being off grid and the two storey homes are lush. Nice find! Good job getting info from the solar expert!
I find the whole off the grid concept exciting. It was interesting to learn how expensive the system is and so it makes me wonder what the payback is versus being connected to the grid. Cheers!
Thanks Kerry. Excellent presentation from you and them ..Nice homes and layouts. I still always want a tub and shower but then their bigger ones have that maybe? Finally we do need some ideas of prices when they will release that. But you gave us enough to do the rest to find out more...at their site and contacting them. Thank you again .
Glad you enjoyed it Marian!
Perfect for retired folks! one story, space for washer/dryer, walk in shower.
100%
The beauty about these, they are in my neck of the woods. Finally…😊
Nice!
Costa Ricta?
Can I get this in North Carolina or Georgia?
Love most of the design but Unfortunately there's too many red flags with this company for myself. The CEO just gives me scam artist vibes, the state of NY vs lawsuit over the country of origin over tariffs, and the very non functioning website. Built just enough to get your money.
Looks like Surefoot footings. A nice Aussie invention.
Perfect for an ADU in Florida. Thx man
My pleasure, thanks for watching
Nice design 😊 great job on this video 😏 like always
Thank you 🙌🏼
I'm impressed! I want!
Glad you like ir
I see you upgraded to the DJI OP3 😍 Loving this and MOMO looks poised to be a key player in the prefab housing industry
Yeah! Nice upgrade from the 20ft cord
Love your humor .
I think it’s great , wonderful design . I’d need 6 of them , can I say compound !
Thank you!
Glad I found your channel.... I am approaching retirement and am looking at buying some land.... now gotta figure out how I'm gonna live on it!
New subscriber.... looking forward to learning more about the industry!
Thanks for doing thisQ
Thanks for watching
Great option. Thanks for doing the work, super inspiring. The approximate costs of the solar + batteries was super helpful, but what about the actual home?? Unless I missed it, curious what this set up would be all -in?
Oddly enough, I don't really need to see the inside of the cabinets/closets unless I'm seriously interested but that's just me. Beautifully designed. Loved the modern finished as well. Thanks Kerry!
Thanks for watching!
Nice home! I’m curious about the footings. Do you know what type of ground they are approved for? Alabama red clay can be difficult.
This is incredible!
Glad you like it
Really like the interior , but the 0 overhang makes me wonder about certain water issues and nothing to reduce sun intrusion.
I love this home. I am looking at options for an ADU in Colorado and this with the solar looks perfect
Great! Thanks for watching Alexis 🙏🏻
It. Looks nice.
I would go with a different floor plan though.
Get rid of the extra door in the living room.
Get rid of the dining room table.
Swap it for Island that doubles as a bar. Shrinking the living room there by stretch the bathroom. Move the shower to the opposite side. To make space to make the closet in the bedroom bigger. If there is room add a small linen closet in the hall as you come in the door.
Yes, the architect did do a good job with the interior of that model.
Thanks for watching
Prefabricated houses are very beautiful and can be built quickly to optimize costs.
So... wait... I take it from your description that Momo is only going to be working with developers themselves who have a need for 20+ units. So the consumer would have to purchase from the developer or find a developer site in order to purchase one of these units. Is that correct?
Ugh, that’s a dealbreaker.
Yea that’s what I was understanding also, when going on their webpage, they sell directly to developers and not the consumer… there goes the increased markup…. And they never even mentioned the price or ball park price… not good
I really like the floor plan overall. The finishes are nice. I would prefer a bathroom about half that size in exchange for more living room space and a larger laundry closet that can accommodate a side-by-side washer and dryer. Looks very livable though. They seem to be hiding their pricing. I didn't hear it mentioned in the video and I don't see it shown on their website. I'm guessing the price per square foot is luxury-tier real estate. I'm also wondering how much of this structure is made with specialized components that can't easily be bought at the local hardware store. Future repairs may be a nightmare if you can't get parts and if you can't find a local contractor to work on it.
Sweet. Looking at the fact they ship from the East, these homes would be a great solution for rebuilding here in Lahaina on Maui. The solar array would be so cost effective too.
I like the nice discount on the solar if you buy the house!
@@mileshigh1321: still expensive, though, especially if it's a leaseback arrangement and not owned outright.
6:44 and 6:48 those two models are beautiful! I would love to see you do a tour of them! However the logistics of doing that are probably to much lol
We can always afford a tour, though 😂
This would make a fabulous vacation cottage or short-term housing for people relocating. Arrange four of these around a lush garden courtyard with outdoor seating and an ornamental pool with fountain and you would not even need a great view. Would even work in a city such as New Orleans, Charleston, San Antonio or LA. Just have reserved parking nearby and daily housekeeping. Tourists traveling with children would love staying in such a place instead of a hotel or motel. Just make sure the sofa is a queen size fold-out bed so that living area can act as a second bedroom for the children. And have the option of a baby crib in the parent's bedroom.
I love how this guy responds too every comment, except the ones that ask about the price
The price wasn’t available
How is the house heated? I didn't see any vents or baseboard heat ?
Nice layout.
Glad you like it. Thanks for watching 🙌🏼
Love it Please add more windows on the sides like these long ones --- ---
Thanks for watching 😃
I like the l shape because it makes everything look bigger. 👍
That's what she said.
@@NoteFromSELF I knew somebody was going to say that, I thought it would be Kerry ! 😂
if you cut back the hedges by the deck, it makes it look bigger as well
@@PrimaryIgnition True, but when you ask the gardeners to do that they probably won't come back again. 😏
how much is this built ? I cant see anyprice on the website.
I really like this house but there’s something I’m noticing. It seems like most of this type of house is for warmer climates. A lot of the features of all these smaller homes doesn’t seem winter weather friendly. I love the home but that is a question for me.
Yes, I wondered the same thing. What happens with heating?
Put a Murphy bed and side cabinets in the BR and it becomes a quiet sitting room during the day. Put it on a full basement and it becomes a family home.
Just more click bait without all the information. Doesn’t look like they want to sell to individuals, just developers who you know are going to mark it up 3 fold.
Hey Kerry, did you by any chance find out how much an ADU like this would cost? THanks. As always, much appreciated.
Yes Cost would be good. Always need that.
And on the seventh day, the prefab rested.
😂
Kerry, please always put pricing in description, thanks
Hey! I asked and it wasn’t available… should have mentioned that in the video
Love the layout! Love the bathroom close to the bedroom and away from the kitchen as we often see in these. Cost?
I asked but pricing wasn’t available 🫤
Living off the grid ❤
Exactly 🙌🏼
I love the house. It's a small house but has a big house feel. It looks like a crawl space underneath. That would come in handy one maintenance items need repaired. It has a very low roof pitch so probably bo access. I've been looking into alternatives to electricity. If placed in a colder environment, I'm not sure solar could getvthe job done by itself. I'm assuming the panels charge the batteries and you use can flip the breaker from power supplier to the solar? It doesn't run all the time? Is the breaker box wired so tou could use other types of alternative energy or a generator? I didn't catch a price but I'm not sure I want to. As far as appearance and livability, I would score it very high.
I posted the comment without reading. I was using my phone and my fat fingers are too big for those little numbers. No alcohol today. Just poor typing. Sorry about that.
What about that Log Cabin in the background... that looks very interesting... !!!
Sweet Kerry “
N-Joyed this one…Did you mention price or Did I miss it…? Thanks. Poncho C
Hey Poncho! Glad you enjoyed it. The pricing wasn’t available
I would love to see a double L build. Solar is an ADDED Plus. Thank you
Is this available in hurricane prone areas?
Interesting. I'd assume most ADUs would have power on site, but this could give folks a handy solution to adding solar along with their ADU.
What? No "see you in the next one" sendoff? Thanks for the vid - like the forethought planning for solar...
Cost for the solar panel setup seems fairly reasonable.
If you get their discounted price.
Kerry, have you seen the new park model from Clever tiny homes? I think you’d dig it. They’ll be at Tiny house fest in San Diego this weekend
Ill check it out, thanks!
Very nice
glad you like it
When are your houses coming to California
Is this allowed to have in Florida. Is hurricane proof?
What's the price of the home you featured ? Looks awesome, do they ship to the Canadian market ? Thanks
They didn’t share pricing unfortunately. Think they’re starting with the US
Kerry, based on your expertise, which A-frame manufacturer is the best value for money?
Whats with the cuts when talking about the solar?
Grrrr HOW MUCH DUDE?! Lovely setup but... Snow loads for Colorado upper mountain residents looking to not build a log cabin. This is way more appealing to me. I got $20k in my lot looking down from Pikes Peak to Kansas and keep going back and forth between stick bild; prefab; log or lastly a tiny home but CO is clamping down in them restrictions include only 14 days of "camping" (thos is on my own 14 avres mind you! Grrr) and getting a building crew and CRANE for a 2 story for views is the ideal. But at what? 688sq ft and guessing $125 per ft finished (not counting $20k for solar) SHOULD land us at $86,000 installed. Whereas I have a 4500 plus 2000 walkout basement stick build that will cost $25K to frame. 20k to skin 20k to drywall and 25k to put a roof on. Plumbing and electrics I do for free. Doors and windows I get from China for pennies on the dollar as I'm 20% owner of a glass factory. So thats around $120k on a $6k slab foundation or add 20k more for walkout concrete IVF basement and garage under home as it's a 60x60 hole in the ground. We're expanding later for work junk on site as I have 14 acres snd am zoned unrestricted - so can do R-1 or C-1 and/or Ag. But onto is whilst I can buy the same sized log kit for $35k that gives me a "shell" construction. In Colorado? To get a crew up into the Rovkies daily for 1 fo 2 months you're talking $200k for assembly ajd finish. (Add H2O and septic to all these too for 15k) so I gotta pull the trigger here soon. But this kinda appeals to me. Now of you come baxk like many prefab or tiny home outfits and say it's $450-$500. A SQUARE FOOT. YOU'RE HIGH. I refuse to pay that. Especially prefab from Asia. They're making a killing and what is that? $400K after water and septic and foundation and landscaping. Maybe more. I can do a full custom build for that that's 6000 sq ft. Sorry if I sound edgy. I'm just stuck between several logs trying to decide the best route to go. Peace. Good video.
Nice setup and the solar off grid is so totally awesome. How much?
They didn’t share pricing
@@KerryTarnow Too bad, nice product but I’m amazed that anyone U interview doesn’t have that figured out beforehand. It’s a business and that’s just bad business practice probably meant to suck people into increasingly huge deals they probably weren’t ready for. It really sucks that people do this. I think the real star of that company is architect Erica. She really has some great designs.
So true, home looks nice but without a price range you can't compare and see if it's a real option for your needs.
Cost of the solar setup seems reasonable.
Price?
Wasn’t available, I asked… 🫤
very nice barn exterior look...would be cool if exteriors could change colors.. black for winter, white for hot summer days.
That would be very cool
What is the price of the units that are on the market?
and what would it sell for in say a normal development? avg...
It’s very nice, but does Not beat your Spanish Fork home❤Keep it up you’re doing great.
Thank you 🙌🏼
#Kerry Sorry I'm a little confused can a single homeowner buy one or they arent selling like that just yet? Also how much is this one IM IN LOVE!!! TYVM
Hey Pinky,
They’re selling to developers building subdivisions, so not available to single buyers at this time. The price wasn’t available. Thanks for watching
Only for developpers, Kerry? How does one go about seeing a private price, and how to buy? A follow up on this MOMO company with the practical aspect of how a buyer buys one, not 20 units, would be great, because the specs are all good on these models.
Will try to get more info
@@KerryTarnow Thanks, Kerry! You know, the Vesta site also looks so promising, but they show no footprint dimensions on their site, that I can find. I wouldn't be sorry for you to look into that also! Ha! Thanks for all you do. I want to "pull the trigger" on one of these models this year. Your reviews are essential. I appreciate that you provide a "discussion" of important issues. Height of ceilings and footprint are so important to evaluate maximum site use.
Would love to see one in a 2 bedroom
Did I miss it or what does this house/floor plan would roughly cost? The price for the solar is there, but what does the house cost? And is the "foundation" included?
I asked but unfortunately pricing wasn’t available
Not a fan of this floor plan but might be interested in 2-3 bed, 2 bath home so if you can get more info (where they put them up at, prices, foundation info).
Was the apprx cost per sqft mentioned in the video?
It wasn’t available 🫤
Hopefully they have an option for an eat in island instead of requiring a table.
