You need to mention prices, these homes are still way to much expensive than a small home should cost. Small homes should be about saving money, not being even more expensive than regular ones.

Where are all the affordable homes????? This was all started for people to be able to purchase a hone outright, or in a short amount of time. To NOT have people tied to a mortgage their whole life. This all defeats the purpose of financial freedom. Not slaving your life away for a home.

I think these tiny houses are kind of a necessity for all classes looking just for a place to live cause of overpopulation and no where to live. And new houses are built very dangerous.

I like windows as much as the next guy, but let me tell ya, as someone who's lived in a bunch of ground level studio apartments, having a giant window in the front sucks. Yes, it's lovely to have natural light and a pretty view, but a window looking right in on your primary living and sleeping area is awful unless you somehow have absolutely zero people around. I basically had to keep the blinds/curtains drawn 24/7, which kind of makes the big window worthless.

i am moving to 100 acres in wv.
after spending YEARS looking at different options
i have settled on the following:
      20 by 30.
      built on 3ft stilts
      hip roof.
all metal with spray on insulation and noise dampening
      built to hurricane specs
all off grid, powered by propane and panels
steel girder inner framing so i can have 8 foot glass sliders all way round
wrap around deck, not attached to house

Yay! Lloyoll Skali took the top spot in 2023!! I remember when you first talked about it. Blew my mind! Just imagine, never ever having to use exterior or interior paint ever again. There's no paint anywhere. No mess. No upkeep. No paint splattered floors or furniture. The Corten steel siding looks like a Richard Serra sculpture. The deep rust color is gorgeous and blend with nature perfectly. Patina will soften and enrich these homes naturally over time. The layout is incredible. Tall ceilings with a ton of light and real wood burning fireplaces too. Llloyoll makes the best prefab homes I've ever seen. Merry Christmas, everyone!!!

For the price these Lloyoll Skali models are asking, you might be able to purchase a small Richard Serra sculpture for your existing home. Depressing how costly psf prefab modular has become recently. And most of the floorplans are constricted by the limits of transporting the module down a highway.
Admittedly this is a very difficult design challenge and one I have direct experience trying to solve, unsuccessfully, using prefab construction tech (really just stick-built at two sites: factory and onsite too). So I switched to using structural steel as portal frames to build a skeleton that I can apply flat panel floors, exterior walls and a commercial concrete roof deck to cover it. This is working for me, YMMV.

It’s insane to me tiny the window of “Tiny homes are cheap” was. Tiny homes are now the same price as full sized homes were a decade ago. Like what the heck would they charge for an empty 400 square foot box at this point, 50 grand? Lots of temporarily successful tiny home manufacturers out there. The one who figures out how to do it ACTUALLY cheap, and is capable of pushing their business out to create what will essentially be tiny home building franchises, that’s the company that’s going to take the market.
We’re about to enter a time in which 50k homes will be in extremely high demand.

Do you know how the zoning for these work? Can you plop these down in your backyard if the zoning allows ADUs (accessory dwelling units) or are there different rules? These also look like great guest house options. But then again it may be next to impossible to get them in if a house is already in the front even with a crane.

Kerry, why are some $60k, and others similarly sized $150k+?
I know build auality and finishing is part of the answer, but I cannot imagine the difference justifying $80-$100k difference

wondering if you have a west coast or close company you like that will work up a custom design and delivers a panel, pre-cut, weather tight house that can be built by 4 or 5 handy people with the inside and utilities finished locally on site.

Merry Christmas, Kerry. I've been following your videos for some time -- and I'm torn between frustration and inspiration. You're a great presenter and your stories are always entertaining. From you I get all kinds of new ideas (thank you) but you're like the mean uncle who dangles candy in front of the family kids and then snatches it away when they reach for it. IOW, WHY do I so often watch introductions of homes I love but cannot buy? How about a video of homes that are available NOW throughout the east coast? Or how about a video of a European company that will not only build the the home, but ALSO ship it and handle delivery to your east coast site -- sort of a one-stop shop. I'm not an international importer who can handle truck-to-shp-to-truck & deliver(!) -- but if some Euro company would offer to do the whole deal, now THAT could be a game changer. Finally, have you ever looked at the HomeDepot building kits that go for about $55k and you build on site?

I think that my #1 choice would be SMARTPADS but I don’t think they operate out of Colorado. Flexibility of design is their superhero strength and I especially like the design featured @ 7:20 in this video. Note garage placement on left of main house to estsblish good FUNG SHUI (healing/healthy clockwise energy spin) for the entire design/house.
I was surprised that BOXABL didn’t make your TOP 10 list this year. The Casitas is still my #1 if it wasn’t for the milenial waitlist ha. Happy New Year Bro. Your videos rock. Especially like the video edit of U walking left to right thru various exteriors edit at the beginning of this video. Very awesome. And Your comment about viewer “insightful comments” caught me off guard and was just another example of your whip smart humor shining thru again and again. Cheers💜🐬🏡🎁🎄🎶

Hi there, I just watched this and checked out all of the builders who will deliver to the US. You found a lot of really great floorplans. I'm looking for something with more of a cottage feel to put on a lot with an existing home. It needs a coittage feel to fit in. Any suggestions?? Thank you!

If you can try to prioritise the sustainability of these models instead of the look. So when i am browsing these prefab houses, i want to know how much is this house carbon negative, does it even power itself by itself, does it have solar/wind energy or any other kind of sustainable energy?
