Honestly original Xen was like On a Rail, not very fun and kinda boring tbh, interloper was a bit fun though. New gives me all the right vibes up to the ladder half of the factory, the spire was beautiful and the final boss was absolutely awesome.
yeah but I can understand what epoch means. In a way, the original Xen really made you feel like you should not belong here, like your body was just not adapted to the planet. Especially at the beginning when you were trying to get to new areas it was always a weird solution : use a skin trampoline to get into a ray ship into a teleporter, etc .But then the factory was really just a few more maps and it was done. Black Mesa made the factory waaaaay too long tbh, like god it took forever to get to the final boss, and while the wild Xen part was mostly exploration, the Factory was scripted and not very pleasant. But they also did something that I think should be canon : the Vort village.
@@BlasphemousMoons The Vort village and the Gargantua chase were amazing. I think the biggest problem in all of it though was Nihilanth was maybe a little too easy. I was playing on normal but I did not die a single time and I remember the original Nihilanth being a pain in the ass because it would constantly teleport you to different levels.
Damn.. this ambiance is relaxing..

Dude your high on drugs and your opinions are null and void and are the absolute MINORITY. Laidlaw himself said Xen was incredible in Black Mesa.
@@khorps4756 i guess they thought the teleports were annoying and scrapped it.
