Hi Cathy! For my Gemini II, I found that I didn’t need the magnet sheet and just used a piece of cardstock instead. It’s like it’s got too much pressure and my plates started to warp immediately.
This certainly makes beautiful cards and very tempting... Considering the price, the additional inks and "printing" die I am wondering if this is value added. Thoughts?
I didn’t have luck with Gemini and her daughter Junior. Clean plates went through and scratched into and curled UP like a capital C, no kidding. I worked with them for an entire year. Took them both with cords, extra shims and many extra plates, dies and hot foil plates to a large charity shop. Switched to Anna Griffin Empress and Empress Mini and have been extremely happy. No more craft room crying or expletives.
See, I had the same issue until I went with the plates Jennifer McGuire showed in her video a few years back. Two clear plates, two green double sided die plates. Works like a charm but… I will keep people posted on this new machine. I'm waiting for my smaller plates to arrive.
I sure enjoyed your video, but was wondering… where you got your lazy Susan that you have under your die machine. Love your set up and would like one. Oh, and the size of it. I’m sure your machine has some heft to it, I know my Electronic Switch does, yours seems to handle the weight.
SO for that machine, which I am not using, it came with an attachment. But… there is a product from anna griffin called the crafty lazy susan on her website. It's currently sold out but that is what I use now with my anna griffin embpress machine.
Since you spoke of how old Letterpress is, I have the older letterpress system with the plastic dies. Do you think you could take the shims out and use a sticky grid to hold the plastic dies in place? would love your opinion

No. Because you said the ink stays wet longer because of it's viscosity I wondered if embossing powder could be applied to the image and heat gun used.
So if I stamp the butterfly plate and run it through my big shot between plates it would press and stamp the image into a card? Cause I’m not planning to buy a better press machine.
I don’t think so, as the plates definitely are not like dies. I’m watching videos to learn do’s and dont’s. I don’t want to wreck my die cutting plates or my BetterPress plates.

I received my BetterPress yesterday and love it; however, each time I ran it through my Spellbinder Platinum die cutting machine, it left impressions each time on the clear plate. I have reached out to Spellbinders and I am waiting for a response. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Cathy Z I love your tutorials!
Hmmm. Like indented impressions? Or just a transfer of the coating on the plates? I noticed a slight image, almost a ghost image of the back of the plates… that could just be the coating.
Mine did get the impression on the very first pass and I was upset. I don’t feel like I’m having any ill effects on any of the impressions that I’m making. I was afraid the marks would put that impression on my other card faces. I am going to get another clear plate.
Do you think it would work on the Stampin Up die cutting machine? It is a lot like a Big Shot which is the machine that they had before their current machine.

I read (or heard) that you can use the Better Press plates with the Spellbinder’s foiling system, but you canNOT use the foil plates with the Better Press. My BP arrived today and I can’t wait to “play cards” after dinner 😍.

I have a Dyson pure cool me and am in front of it constantly, (we’ll sort of I can’t have it blowing near my face) I have heart and lung conditions and this weather is worse than the cold. I would be lost without the Dyson. We do t tend to have air conditioners in the UK but by gum I am tempted!! Possibly more realistic to buy another Dyson for the main room. PS; I cannot wait for the Autumn.
@@czdesign I think the planet is in just in another hot cycle, I remember us trying to fry eggs on the pavement when I was little and then summers changed for a while, it was wetter and cooler here for a long time. Now we have those 2 or so weeks where we bake and then back to normal. Ha.
Hate having to wear a bra too! Absolute torture! I, too, have been professionally fitted, tried all different types, learned from a bra professional that you have "Lift the ladies" into the cups, blah, blah, blah.... UK a nightmare..... In winter we are cold cold (we are not really used to winters being this cold) and now summer (again we are not used to it being this hot) it is so sweaty, humid and muggy blurghh..... Yana Smakula did a video with Denzel - you van run the letterpress dies to emboss - basically just not inking it. You can glimmerfoil with the letterpress dies. You can’t use this base for embossing or die cutting.

@@czdesign Yes, like a coating because I don't feel any indentation. Spellbinders responded and said this is normal. I am loving the BetterPress!

It is, but i would not say it's SUPER strong. Like, it'll hold things in place but it won't hold them with a ton of strength!

4.25 x 5.5 is usually the panel size is use. Does that help?
