BB Shaheed crossed the rivers of blood and fire ,but she never mentioned her personal pains ,agony and oppression .... She always spoke so gracefully and courageously for her people , struggled fearlessly and sacrificed her all for the great cause of democracy, political, constitutional , economical and social justice and equality

Pakistan went through an interesting phase alongside with two other countries which experienced military rule or martial law of some form in the 1980s.
The other two are Turkey and Chile (where martial law came to the fore in 1970)
Turkey was ruled by the iron-fisted Gen Kenan Evren and Chile had its strong-headed leader Gen Pinochet who brutally removed Allende from power.
Comparing Gen Zia, to the two other generals, namely, Evren and Pinochet, would make some fascinating arguments and analogies for the students of political science.

I like how each Pakistani elite talks about the suffering of the common Pakistani. As if they know what it means to be poor.
Yet Pakistani society carries these elites on their heads. Cry for them, jump over hoops to get a glimpse of them.
Today Bilawal Bhutto took up the mantle from his grandfather and mother. Boy, what a funny character. Yet managed to become the foreign minister.
