Blue Motif on a Jubilee in E??? 😂 Sorry but that's really a let down on this list because that's an A for certain. Arguably the nicest after / with the Wimbledon and still one of the most sought after (especially after being discontinued)
I've got the DJ36 blue fluted-motif (fluted bezel, jubilee bracelet) and have to say the fluted-motif motifs are the best DJ dials of the past few years. Sad to see them discontinue them! Also a big fan of the tapestry and linen dials back from the 80s, especially that yellow gold two tone! And the white roman is clean and killer too.
@@EspressoWatches totally agree. Fluted motif kicks so much ass. The blue isn't as loud as the green or gold but they all look the great Same with the slate and rose gold.
No matter how many rolexes I see, the black stick dial, fluted bezel, jubilee bracelet will always be my favorite one. It's such a classy, time-less/modern, clean watch.
Fluted dial should be at least B tier, it was a great release for the Datejust, I know Rolex panned it early but I think it’s underrated (by your standards!)
A good buddy of mine has a fluted dial, fluted bezel on jubilee and it’s just stunning! That should be an A! Also, I’m a big fan of the Turn-O-Graph, that would be an A in my book too!
He uses the hottest dial for the click bait pic for the video **blue fluted motif dial** ADs had the most requests for that dial in the datejust line. Blue and green fluted Motif dials were super hard to get. "E" was on purpose because he knows he will get LOTS of comments, which the youtube algorithm loves.
The one thing that comes out in your assessments is how personal Rolex designs are to different people. Somehow to me the more classic designs will have the longest shelf life. I have three Datejusts. One is a 36mm with the anniversary face with diamonds and the diamond bezel and the jubilee bracelet. It is completely gaudy to be sure and only get’s worn on very formal occasions, like with a tuxedo. My other two are both 41mm, and one is a two tone gold and oyster with gold face, gold fluted bezel, and jubilee bracelet, and a stainless version with black diamond face fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet. I enjoy wearing either of these. The two tone reminds me of a watch my father wore, which always brings back memories for me. The stainless version is more compatible with my typical colour choices of grays. Some of the trendier watches you chose are also gorgeous, but for me, some seem like they will feel really strange in the future. Likely they will be more valuable than my more pedestrian choices though. Thanks for your interesting presentation.
I appreciate you going quick on my slate/smooth bezel/oyster bracelet boring ass Datejust. It was quick and painless. But honestly, there’s something unique about it since everyone else has to have a jubilee with a fluted bezel.
Romans on white dial with a smooth bezel and jubilee bracelet is a very good look in my opinion. Take your pick. Thomas's opinion, or anyone else's is not definitive.
That fluted motif they’ve been using elsewhere, for example for (very nice) hoardings covering up a Rolex shopfront under construction and for frosted window decoration at their service centres. I like it
I think you definitely left out possibly on purpose the 41 mm oyster steel fluted bezel blue dial. It's a stunning sporty or dress all around daily, driver.
1989 blue jubilee, alpha numeric dial with oyster bracelet, 35 year old daily work watch. Smart, clean and 35 years ago, there were very few blue dials.
5:54 ironic for the guy in a denim shirt to hate on denim-looking dials. by the way, I know high-low juxtaposition is his thing (cartier on perlon, tec.), but that shirt and blazer simply don't go together. y'all looking to hire a stylist? I'm cheap. I like watches, I'd just do it for kicks.
Great vid + presenter, I'll disagree with the pinstripe, personally feel it's lower. Bamboo looks great. I'm actually here after discovering Boiler Gauge dials, found them to be strikingly unique
Not a great fan of Rolex, but it is that cyclops that bugs me most on these models. I absolutely hate it, so all Datejusts come into the’F’ category for me. Prefer the Oyster Perpetual, but I wouldn’t go overboard.
Absolutley love the fluted motif. Think they’ll become one of the most desirable collectables down the line. But I prefer the look with the oyster bracelet so its not too busy.
One has the champagne dial, gold Roman numerals, gold Thunderbird bezel, gold and stainless steel oyster band. My other is champagne dial, diamond dust Roman numerals, diamond bezel, and gold and stainless steel oyster band. I’m very happy wearing either.
i have a DayDate 36 18249 Bark Finished in white gold with diamond markers, which i inherited from my dad..and i love wearing it everyday……beautiful watch.
The Palm dial is probably a future A, maybe S tier I think. I could see collectors going crazy for it in 10-20yrs, as there is absolutely nothing like it in the DJ lineup. But at the moment I’m over it 😂
Turn-o-graph should be higher, because it's the closest a timing bezel can get to a dress watch. I know that dressy people will judge it crude and sporty people will judge it blingy, I don't care. C or B, depending on reference.
The quartz would be the only rolex that I would ever want to own. Unfortunately the case is horrible. It is a pity they did not just stick it into a standard oyster...
All Rolex DateJust look like each other.. But Turn -O- Graph is Rebellious.. Grade D really hurts.. I agree some of DateJusts are more handsome but Turn-O-Graph is unique.. Deserves upper grades...
4:24 “I love when companies use compelling natural materials” proceeds to then immediately list the most unnatural, complexly manufactured case material known to man. Ah yes. I love growing me some carbon fibre. Let me just go harvest from my carbon nano filament tree, and I can’t forget my epoxy resin bug!
The "fluted" dials are ugly in person, and not even that great in photos. The classic blue sunburst dial with fluted bezel on Jubilee is the way to go, preferably in the original 36mm size.

Yeah i cant believe he placed the wimbledon dial at C.. wonder if he knows what he’s talking about..
My fave datejust is the blue fluted motif, so that hurt.
The motif dial with fluted bezel and jubilee is probably the best date just configuration. S tier all day.

Same with the slate and rose gold.
Agreed, very disappointed in the motif being discontinued. I've been waiting for one since 2022.
@@ZimbabweWesh damn man, and now they are only gonna surge on the grey market which I vehemently despise
I agree. The fluted-motif looks amazing.
Seriously wimbledon C ?
The Roman numbers are too large and shouldn’t be upside down.
At best. And that lume on the 9 is just off.
No matter how many rolexes I see, the black stick dial, fluted bezel, jubilee bracelet will always be my favorite one. It's such a classy, time-less/modern, clean watch.

You may be right. And here we are, falling for it!
***suspicion intensifies***
Sorrry but the Wimbledon dial deserves an S or A classification! Pure class
100% agreed S tier
“He aint fat but he wide”
hahahahahaha 😂, from now on i’ll always remember this when i’ll see a Wide Boy. 7:11
Great video but no mention of my favourite, the tuxedo dial
Reading through some of the comments….. this was always going to be a touchy and personal topic for some. Well executed. Happy Sunday! ❤😊
Giving the Wimbledon a “C” is wild bro
What about the ivory computer dial with Arabic numerals with fluted bezel?

How about tuxedo dial? My personal favorite.
Agreed!
Is this a joke? Totally disagree. The motif dial are fabulous, the beaver tooth whimbledon a gag.
It’s is a joke. Wasted my time watching this boring and extremely inaccurate ranking.. He talks lots of bollocks.
I've always been a fan of the old engine turned bezels. Liked it better than the fluted bezel.
I appreciate you going quick on my slate/smooth bezel/oyster bracelet boring ass Datejust. It was quick and painless. But honestly, there’s something unique about it since everyone else has to have a jubilee with a fluted bezel.
LMAOOO turnograph D tier, you’re nuts bro
where would you put it?

Boy oh boy... you've managed to not only diss my favourite DJ dials but also my Omega Railmaster denim dial. 😬😄
That fluted motif they’ve been using elsewhere, for example for (very nice) hoardings covering up a Rolex shopfront under construction and for frosted window decoration at their service centres. I like it
I'm a big fan of the Roman numerals personally 👌🏼
Wimbledon is C??

I want a DJ36 in rhodium dial fluted bezel/jubilee.
what about the ghost dial?
That fluted dial (on a smooth bezel) deserves higher placement.
5:54 ironic for the guy in a denim shirt to hate on denim-looking dials.
by the way, I know high-low juxtaposition is his thing (cartier on perlon, tec.), but that shirt and blazer simply don't go together.

Denim shirt with casual blazer looks smashing. I bet you would be a cheap stylist ;)

I’m open to dial choice but my Datejust would have to have stick markers, a fluted bezel and a jubilee bracelet.
Fluted motif dials are the highest priced DJs on the secondary market, not an E rating.
Not a great fan of Rolex, but it is that cyclops that bugs me most on these models. I absolutely hate it, so all Datejusts come into the’F’ category for me. Prefer the Oyster Perpetual, but I wouldn’t go overboard.

An E for the blue fluted dial??? I feel personally attacked. It's so beautiful and wearable.
i have a DayDate 36 18249 Bark Finished in white gold with diamond markers, which i inherited from my dad..and i love wearing it everyday……beautiful watch.
Linen is by far my favourite. Many beautiful configurations, though.
Great video!! Rose-gold Wimbledon two-tone fluted on jubilee is got to be an S or at least an A!! Right??! It is in my book 🙌🏻👍🏻
I liked the blue motif dial with smoth becel.
I have the sunbeam in black roman and I love it ❤ agree, Rolex should bring it back!
What about radial flipped Roman?
My favorite has got to be the 18kt burlwood dial datejust. Such a stunner
Agree regarding the Roman numerals. Only the latest iteration on the platinum Daydate looks good.
I really enjoyed this video. Now just move the blue motif up to 'A' where it belongs and we can all get along : )
TO ALL THE UPSET COMMENTERS - It's an opinion-based video; don't be shocked if you disagree. That's showbiz, baby! 😎
The Palm dial is probably a future A, maybe S tier I think. I could see collectors going crazy for it in 10-20yrs, as there is absolutely nothing like it in the DJ lineup. But at the moment I’m over it 😂
I would bump the standard, palm and two tone up at least one notch each. Other than that, I pretty much agree! Don’t love the Buckley, though
Turn-o-graph should be higher, because it's the closest a timing bezel can get to a dress watch. I know that dressy people will judge it crude and sporty people will judge it blingy, I don't care. C or B, depending on reference.
Wimbledon, in 2 tone rose gold, fluted bezel is my fave DJ
Excellent assessment of these wonderful watches.
No mint green???
I think the fluted dial will be dated AF in a few years.
The classic and maybe most bought luxury watch, a two tone datejust being a D is crazy
You missed the concentric dial
Wimbledon fluted Rosé Gold is S Tier
They do need to bring back the honey comb dials
Wow... Littlefinger is reviewing watches now. 👀
VERY ACCURATE......
blue fluted dial is the nicest one to me
Have to disagree with you on some of these, but to each their own! What about the mint green dial? S tier obviously 💚
Roman numerals are gorgeous. That’s my quest!
I wonder why people call Rolex out as "boring" amd going for the safe bet; I didn't know they'd tried so many bold variations on this model alone 😂
A=Antique all the C=Class
The quartz would be the only rolex that I would ever want to own.
Unfortunately the case is horrible. It is a pity they did not just stick it into a standard oyster...
You forgot the Concentric dials....
2 tone yellow gold Wimbledon is at least A tier on either bracelet
I was going to say no Rolex should be an F. Then I forgot about the Jubilee dial.
My favourite would be the concentric dial.
You forget the wave dial 😂 but nice video
For all cuties rocking the fluted bezels keep doing you boo!
Also, this guys opinions are just that. It’s like like an a-hole everybody has one !
Where is mint green? Signature color of rolex
Hahaha nonsense blue and green motif are top tier
The anniversary jubilee dial is definitely not an F
Worst ranking and review I’ve ever seen… Absolute waste of time!👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
The champagne Jubilee dial getting an F is the worst one. In white or silver it has a completely more acceptable look.
Gilt dial. wood dial. celebration dial, Tuxedo Dial, stone dials, logo dial, pinball dial, datejust ii,
Linen is class, all day, every day, S-tier!
To rank the flutted bazel so low shows only not professional level of competences
All Rolex DateJust look like each other.. But Turn -O- Graph is Rebellious.. Grade D really hurts.. I agree some of DateJusts are more handsome but Turn-O-Graph is unique.. Deserves upper grades...
Blue linen Datejust is my grail watch
What about the arabic dial ???
A bit disappointed to see my Wimbledon with a C 😅
I hear that Rolex wearers are mugged quite frequently in London, UK now!
The Wimbledon needs to be called the tampon.
NOT VERY ACCURATE……
That’s showbiz my guy

Love my 16220 since 1988
116234 super jubilee, blue Roman ❤
But now everyone has these
great video. The only one I was missing was the Tuxedo dial date just.
sundust dial
concentric dial 💜
Concentric rings is of course S+…
Leave the romans alone, come on man!
The "fluted" dials are ugly in person, and not even that great in photos. The classic blue sunburst dial with fluted bezel on Jubilee is the way to go, preferably in the original 36mm size.
Omg, 💯 agree
