I like this update Some minor suggestions tho: 1st: The packager schould display the right color of Liquid splatter at the top (for my taste at least) 2nd: The fluid reservoirs should have a fluid window that shows color and maybe filling height of the fluids inside
They kinda already do this, oil and heavy oil are drums with color coordination, fuel, turbo fuel, and biofuel are like jerry cans and are color-coordinated, and packaged water is the only one that looks like it does in the vid, a round water jug like you see in offices
Fluid overflow setting on the valve would be cool too instead of having to make inverted "U"s in the pipes. Or just a fluid smart splitter with overflow capabilities.
The thing I love about CSS is the fact that they listen to their community sooooo much and take that into consideration when updating the game. You don't see that in a lot of game developers anymore. Keep up the great work guys!

What I want is a better pressure system. You should only need enough head lift on pipes to take the fluid to the final destination, not to take it to the highest point, as in real life water pressure can pull water.
@@wta1518 How does the water get to the highest point in the system to begin with? The water would have to fill the pipe up to that point before gravity can pull any of it and initiate the suction needed to sustain the flow.
@@wta1518 Gravity feed man. if done right you have unlimited range with only the pressure from the pumps/processing. I tested with a range of 3000m of pipe.
I must say I do love the format of this video. Especially where you "walk through" the world showing the changes as you explain them in voiceover. Great job!
I waited until this to continue my Nuclear Power plant, since I want to go full out, which means that I would have had to use 473 pipes @300m³, which is now obviously cut in half. a HUGE HUGE timesaver and help!! Hot dayum I love you guys.
Thank you for your energy! This video is perfect for a patch note and is such a good way of memeing around while being properly informative. Love it, thanks, more please!
Coffee Stain, this looks fantastic! Super stoked for when this comes out on early access! I have my planned turbofuel power generation facility on the back burner until you guys release the packager, so I'm very excited. Thanks for the QoL improvements. I think the smaller mk1 pump and the pump head visual aids are serious underdogs in this update and will be significantly appreciated by the players. Keep up the great work and community interaction!
I physically applauded when he said "visible feedback of headlift when you place pumps" oh yes! that will make life so much easier than having to guess or use walls to measure our your pumps on extra tall pipes. THANK YOU DEVS!
3:00 - There are no technical limitations except the ones you create. No "fluid" needs to actually flow through the pipes, a visual is all you need. For simplicities sake you can have the math values being output without ever connecting anything, physical pipes are just a visual for the players.
this a million times this, if they have the game actually processing liquids moving through pipes thats a lot of unnecessary work for no real reason when the visual inside the pump could easily just be represented the same using %it would be filled based on the numbers
Everybody talks about the Intro but I think one of the biggest highlights in this minor Update is, that we can finally see Snutt having fun on this Giant Flying Manta! He can really enjoy his work now!
I liked the stacked input/outputs of the packager. I've been routing my materials like that, and really it adds a new and interesting twist to factories that shift materials like that. Great work team! Love the game!
This is a pretty tasty patch. Even though I'm all the way to automating turbo motors, Those water pipes are confusing AF. Expanding some of mine to 600 flow along with larger pumps seems like a no-brainer solution. One less thing to worry about~ The ladders and the packager are a nice touch. We won't have to reconfigure much for that.
Very nice. I was kind of hoping for something exotic... Not sure anyone's asked for it though: I was hoping to see the Industrial Fluid Buffers (The larger variety) with two inputs and two outputs so you could feasibly "merge" and "split" in more complex systems. So, for example, I have two input pipes following a series of machines, but each input pipe only contains 150m^3 of fluid. Merge those into an Industrial buffer, and a single outbound pipe would now hold the full 300m^3. Or! Using them to even out the flow... IE Input 1 has 200, Input 2 has 100. You could do two outputs that do 150 each. Just a thought.
Enjoying it so far, but have a couple suggestions: 1. With the vertical alignment of the ports on the packager, being able to stack a pipeline junction on a splitter/merger would help with compact and aligned building. 2. Being able to snap and place valves onto the ends of pipes, supports, pumps, junctions, etc. again for aligned building. (Alternatively, being able to have the snapping like on foundations but with pipes would be nice for placing all of the pipe related objects.)
Seriously. THIS is how game Developers SHOULD be!!! Listens to feedback, offers items based on the communities feedback, and improving the game for every player base. I love you guys!
Looking great guys. I love the new packers and MK II pipes and pumps. Will help with mega nuclear reactor setups (apart from, ya know, setting up all the resources and machines to produce the fuel needed). I had a logistical nightmare just setting up 20 of those bad boys. Next we just need a MK VI belt to handle a fully overclocked MK III miner. 😜
All very good Quality of Life changes! Seeing head lift during placement alone is huge. Probably not diving back in until the dedicated servers are sorted (hosting for friends and family) but can tell that it's going to be a great experience.
