Ok, this was a really weird day for us. We wanted to incorporate a nuclear reactor of some sort in the video. We tried contacting a few located in Sweden with varying responses. We really had our minds set on Ringhals but unfortunately that building is protected under swedish law so it's actually illegal to photograph it. So we decided, fuck it, we'll just go to the area and make a joke about not being able to film or something. So we essentially planned to make a 200km trip just for a gag. So we got there and thought: let's just take a look around and ask anyone about the specific regulations in terms of photography, and what not, and by absolute fucking sheer coincidence we happened to run into the media relations manager at Ringhals who escorted us and gave us permission to film on premise! Which we hadn't planned for at all. Side note; when we went to gothenburg we filmed a bit where Jace see there's a sale at H&M and runs in all happy and stuff, and we asked the clerks if we could buy a few bags so we could film Jace walking out of the store having bought a bunch of stuff - to which they replied that we weren't allowed to do so. So... We were allowed to show up at a nuclear reactor (UNANNOUNCED!!!), and film that. But we weren't allowed to film an H&M bag?

@@jtktomb8598 Well there was a kind of exploit in the steam sale event's race, where you could max out your points for the event by making and drinking soda cans in Starbound... The steam event prompted you to do some kind of actions in some selected games to earn points. And Some of these actions were not balanced, but it's more of a buzz thing than an usefull exploit. Found another exploit by harvesting crops in Stardew Valley that's way easier to do, but since nobody (famous) found out it didn't go viral.
@@Knoby1000 Wait, that was this big exploit? Not much in it really, I played Two point Hospital where one of the actions is "Cure a Patient" for 10 points....could just open the first hospital, lay down tons of GPs and Pharmacies as you only get basic illnesses and speed up the game and let it run.
I wish I could do shit like that when I have to work on release notes. Hmm, we fixed some mistakes in our German translation of the website. Maybe I can put in an expense claim for a trip to Germany to make a short film announcing this?
All this stuff is extremely cool! Really want to be able to light up my world and base though, it's very dark at night and walking through my enclosed base is just a nightmare. Screw pipes, lights are where it's at!
@@GothWarriorGeek Yes, that would light up a small portion but it's still dark everywhere else. Imagine walking through your house at midnight with only a flashlight, it'll get annoying real quick and then you'd probably find the nearest light switch and turn it on to light up the entire room.

I wish I could wear my Blade Runners while also wearing a Jet Pack and a Hazmat Suit. It's not very satisfying to see that I can only wear one thing on my body while having 5 slot for my hands - where 2 would be enough. That said the new trains are fantastic although it's unfortunate that they are not animated when I join a friend's game. The animation looks really cool. Can't wait for maglev trains ;-)

Wow I had been waiting for the next updates and this blows my mind. Time to go a weekend playing binge to see what I can make. Definitely trains will be a godsend for me. This really is becoming an over the top Factorio in 3D and I love it
2:50 Jep and they are splitting my trains as well so fright cars and trains traveling separate and this is looking wiered. Load/Unload is working but at some time all trains get stuck in the system. I hope we get a patch for the trains asap because i realy love the game and the trains are really fun :)

The switches are a bit broken, and generally result in broken apart trains after a few hours. I did report this, but it is funny to see a loco running down the tracks, and some time later the train car.
Nice! I can go back to regular version, been playing this the last week on experimental. The MK5 belts are sic... but the Turbo Motors- well really the Radio Control Units- are sooo nasty to build. Who'd have thought you'd need mountains of rubber to build these at ratio. And the batteries, not sure what those are for yet. Good to know you can put a locomotive on both ends to make it bidirectional, will try that as placing track to make a u-turn is rather awkward (the hologram tends auto place a path that is "too sharp" instead of figuring out one that will work).
Loved the Chernobyl reference lol maybe for later in the future you could add 4th gen reactors that use the waste from the 3rd gen reactors as fuel, freeing you from the need to store waste and powering your world 100% safe
Are there any plans to make nuclear waste useful somehow? Solving a perpetual storage problem in game where resources are infinite and generally can be disposed of at will is... strange, to say the least. I'd much rather have the spent fuel rods somehow useful - perhaps to create the next batch of fuel rods somehow or perhaps as a component in something else... or perhaps even in a slow "decontamination" process?
They could make it decay. Every piece of waste could have a tiny chance to disappear e.g. once per second. With just a few, you'd hardly notice anything is happening. But if you collect enough of it, it'd keep disappearing as fast as you add to it.

Ha I already built all of this in the experimental build, got a train going straight through the cave with the uranium in it and I even managed to fit a station+ 3 cargo spots, a turn around loop, and a fuel rod plant in there. Feels like something out of Fallout (now if only you'd add vault doors lol). Then I built my nuclear plant right above that pit in front of the cave entrance and set up the waste facility about 30 stories below, perched within the abyss, with 27 industrial containers ready to handle the waste (with plenty of room to stack on top of those). I am mildly annoyed at the amount of waste generated, it's just not very realistic to get more waste than what you originally put in, I mean I get that you want to make it a challenging mechanic but as a pro-nuclear energy person I get very annoyed at these kinds of stereotypes. Now if my coal plants emitted enough smog to blanket my base and give me heavy metal poisoning I'd at least call it fair, but I think there needs to be more downsides to fossil fuels in the game if we're gonna get punished this much for using nuclear. And since I'm already ranting: please add a way to remotely change switches from the train cab, Just let me hit A or D as I approach a switch to change it. That would make my train network much more usable as a means to transport my character places and would make my rail yard way easier to park in. I'd also like to see sorters and other logical functions built into the freight stations so I could put multiple different items in one car, because right now my control rods require a whole car to themselves even though I only send maybe 1 stack at a time and my fuel rod plant doesn't need full cars of concrete and beams but there's no way to limit what gets loaded besides letting everything fill up. I'd love to be able to tell the station to send x stacks of Y item along with X stacks of Z item in a single car then unload them separately from the two outlets at the other end, and/or add a way to both load and unload at the same platform so I can drop off at the same station I want to load another item from. That way I wouldn't need massive trains and uncomfortably long stations everywhere and I wouldn't have full trains running back and forth to drop off less than a stack each time. But with all that said I'm very happy with this update and super impressed with the quality of everything, keep up the good work! I'll be patiently awaiting tier 8 once I get my turbo motor assembly line up and running, though my base is going to look like a bowl of spaghetti if tier 8 increases the complexity like 7 has lol.

If I could suggest a small feature, for QoL purposes, would it be possible to have a "Pipette" tool? Basically, this idea is used in Factorio where, if you have the structures on you, when you press "q" on a placed building you'll have that placed into your hand for placing. Maybe satisfactory could have that sort of feature, where if you have the materials on you, you can place the building, belt, or miner down.

Trains look pretty cool. One question though. Is trains use of electric based amount you haul or is it a flat amount over a distance?

If I could suggest a small feature, for QoL purposes, would it be possible to have a "Pipette" tool?
Basically, this idea is used in Factorio where, if you have the structures on you, when you press "q" on a placed building you'll have that placed into your hand for placing.
Maybe satisfactory could have that sort of feature, where if you have the materials on you, you can place the building, belt, or miner down.
