Far-sighted individuals could have a real problem with the 6.75pt Lexicon 1A font in the Pitt Minion. But if you're near-sighted and wear spectacles, even bifocals, you shouldn't have any difficulty reading a Pitt as long as you're reading in adequate light. Pitt Minions are truly exquisite. You can hold a Pitt comfortably in one hand without tiring because of its light weight. They are marvelously constructed and greatly improve with age and use. I'm rapidly approaching my threescore and twenty and have little difficulty reading my Pitt Minions. They are the perfect carry bible for church or visitations. I wouldn't part with mine!
Love this series. Glad to see it lasted and would continue to last. I can attest to the eyes getting worse as we get older. God bless. Loved seeing the years go by on this gem. Blessings
Thank you Matt for doing these videos for the past 5 years! I personally have enjoyed watching them through the years. Now that the Pitt is in retirement, might I suggest a Schuyler (PSQ) Personal Size Quentel? I would absolutely love to see your thoughts on it. Since you loved the Pitt so much, I can see you enjoying a PSQ. Once again that you for the continued longitudinal crash tests.
hey pastor matt, my pitt minion arrived in the mail yesterday! thanks to, and for, your crash test videos. i think i've watched each one several times, and they've been instrumental in my choosing the pitt minion
Please, Please do “Crash Test” updates on the Heirloom Thinline. I carry mine daily and has held up amazingly good. I also changed out my ribbons for 2 red ones. Love your videos!!!
Great Video! I am 41 and have already had to switch to readers in my glasses and presbyopia contacts by Bausch and Lombe. Thanks for sharing as I really want a Pitt Minion for it’s easy to carry ability.
That $12,757 NLT is looking quite highly priced these days. I guess inflation really hit the NLT hard. In all seriousness i really appreciate these videos you have done. Lately I have been carrying a KJV and sometimes NKJV Pitt Minion to work everyday. It is great.
Wow as I see that Bible it reflects a beautiful Journey with Jesus Christ Hallelujah may the Lord continue to bless you as you use his word to bring it to the people at such a desperate time with desperate means. God bless you brother enjoy the journey
I guessed which Bible you were going to start using next. Yay me! The difference in softness compared to the new NLT is nuts. Your channel is one reason I caved and finally bought a Pitt Minion. Unfortunately we are the same age and I wonder if I'll end up grabbing a bigger text Bible like you sooner than later.
I wonder what would have happened if you put a leather conditioner to the cover! I bet it would bring a lot of life to that ! Would love to see you try if possible! Thank you, Happy Healthy New Year!!!
I like that blue nlt but man it shot up in price. Anyway until the end there I was going to recommend a schuyler personal size or the esv large print compact. But hopefully u found a good replacement. Looks like a good one. Loved these crash tests.
With the Diadem just released, I am hoping they make a CSB Pitt. When that day comes I pray I can wear mine out like you have. Nothing makes me happier than seeing a worn out Bible used with love.
CSB makes a nice little bible the same size and the font is super readable. It's called the CSB personal size bible. It's the exact same dimensions as the pitt minion. The only downside is the lack of cross reference. But it has a nice small section for where to turn to when in certain moods!
I used to dislike it but now I know the Lord approves of it as an easier to read version. One of my favorite man of God on youtube uses it, check him out its faulk600. He quotes from the NLT in his videos. He opened my eyes to look outside of the KJV and stop the cult. God Bless !
@@qaz3000 I think they are both valuable, and neither are perfect. It’s good to cross reference KJV and NLT with something like a Strongs concordance or the Blue Letter Bible App when you aren’t sure about a verse.
Five years of service from a Pitt Minion is good. I'm pleased to say that I have a Pitt Minion that I purchased in June 1963. It has a Morrocco black cover that remains soft and flexible. The bible as a whole remains in excellent condition. My Pitt Minion travelled with me from North Chicago November 22, 1963, the day JFK was killed. I took a train home to Dallas with this bible. In January 1964, the bible travelled with me from Dallas to San Diego then to Travis AFB, then to Honolulu International Airport, Wake Island and landed in Agana, Guam. From Guam we travelled through the Marianas Islands to Iwo Jima and Japan. Later we travelled from Guam to Caroline Islands; Truk Atoll, Palau and Wolei Atoll. After leaving the Caroline Islands we travelled to Sydney Australia, then to Pago Pago, Samoa and on to Hawaii. On arrival at Pear Harbor we received orders to patrol Vietnam by way of the Philippine Magellan Straits and Subic Bay, PI.
Matt, have you checked out the new Cambridge ESV Diadem? It's the same Bible as the Pitt Minion, but 20% larger and with the same pagination. Perhaps the larger font would be more suitable for your eyes and the pagination will still match your wide margin.
Matt - I've been on similar journey with both Pitt and Heirloom thinline. Recently switched to thinline for same reasons you did - much easier to read and teach from. However, I'm having a huge issue with page curling, something I didn't struggle with in the Pitt. Have you noticed this? Wondering if it's common to Crossway paper.
I've just bought the Pitt Minion and being near sighted (I wear contacts), I'm getting a little worried, but I wanted a bible I can keep in my purse while I'm on the go. Is there any reason you don't use the Cameo or the Clarion as a substitute? I have the Cameo. I also have the HCSB smaller bible (genuine leather) which has larger print, it's a good bible as well.
@@MatthewEverhard Just to be clear I wanted to upload your videos to my channel, and I will put up a link to your youtube channel, blessings brother, keep up the good work.
Hey, nice to see I am not the only one ageing, LOL. Have you considered the ESV Thinline WITH REFERENCES in genuine cowhide? It's like the one you have but with the references added to it. Same font size as the Heirloom Thinline.
Hey Matt, I am a Hospice Chaplain. Could you send me those scriptures references you have in the back of your Bible? I have a NKJV by Thomas Nelson about the sand size as Pit minion that I haves used for about 10 years. It is bonded leather and has held up well. Thanks!

What an adventure! I also got a Pitt Minion, because of your videos, almost 3 years ago to the day. Thanks for all you do and God Bless!
This genuinely made me sad! lol. That Pitt inspired me to do a travel lot in my Schuyler PSQ and I’m so glad I did.
I didn't expect to love the NLT, but I'm going through a read-through right now and am loving it.

Eso mismo pensé...por que tiene que dejar la Biblia si con unos buenos anteojos podría seguir leyéndola?yo igual no la dejaría.
Great series Dr. Everhard. I got a Pitt last year because if these videos and I started a travel log too.

I have it and its a great bible. I bet pastor Matt could get a few extra years out of it too
Too bad the PSQ doesn't have a concordance, that's what keeps keeping me back from buying one.

Good choice for an alternative to the Pitt. I have found that the Compact Large Print is also good alternative to the Pitt.

That was thinline is the exact Same one I purchased for my first premium bible! It’s softer than almost any I’ve held

The font is why I've come to like the Clarion.

I read the german NLT and it is very good for reading bigger chunks and getting the big picture. Maybe the best bible for the new convert.
can we have a crash test of the replacement

Can you please do crash tests on the thinline!?
Matthew what are those sticky tabs called??
Will you be doing a crash test of the thinline?
What are the highlighted cards in the front?
How did you put your travel log together? Like the structure.
Would you mind sharing your texts of comfort which you have written in your Pitt?
Could you recommend an alternative with a larger print? Have you had a look at some of crossway’s large print compacts?

This off topic but I do wish there was a parallel version of the ESV with the KJV.
