I quit tobacco on April Fools Day 2018, Quit Drinkin' and Druggin' a few months later, on Labor Day 2018 at 58 years old. That is after doing those things, and a lot more for 43 years. I am 63 now, 5 years clean and sober and gettin' shit done for the first time in a long time. I lived to tell about it, and there is no way in hell that I would ever go back to that mess. We are alot stronger than we give ourselves credit.

Im 29 and i quit alcohol this year and i said the same thing you said to my friend. Any event i ever would go to i would drink and i wish i didnt its more memorable when youre sober l. Since i quit alcohol i sleep better lost weight and most importantly just feel better.
It's nice to have a cold beer after a hard day's work, but drinking every day getting wasted is no life.

I'm 63. I live a clean life the same as you. I will give you a hint to excellent health. The carnivore diet, gives your physical body clean living. You are 100% correct everyone needs accept Jesus Christ as their personal savior. Then life is good. You are a very blessed man.

People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. One of my favorite poems. Every relationship we have is meaningful and can greatly influence our paths.
I was fortunate to learn early on to distance myself from the friends that strayed down paths I wasn’t trying to go down. I was surrounded by business owning men of God who taught me many great life lessons.
It’s not all about money but they say take a look at your 5 closest friends and that is the average of your net worth. You surround yourself with guys that do just enough and that’s what you become. You surround yourself with men who pursue greatness and that’s what you’ll get.
near all people / nobody has 5 or more true friends. all relationships including friendships are based off of mutual interest. if mutual interest stops/ends the it is a matter of time and probably sooner than later the relationship will fade out and often to the point of non existent. and ocasional fragented sentence texts thuh or even few word text and or social media seeing pics of others or brief messages once in while do not constitute a true friendship in my book.

basically he sings bout how very often people will not show up to assist or help you if it displaces them if it impositions the, if it cost them $$, if its a hassle for them etc and it is true. if they come is 1 out of however many yu call or ask for help come then that one or those are your true friends...
my dad used to ask at least couple times he'd ask me and my bros when we were high school age how many friends do you have? for whatever reason i was more realistic, but one my bros said i dont know like 20... my dad'd hold one of his hands up and say something like you'll have five friends at most when yu get older....
thru life exerience and example after example i know and believe my dad was correct.
there must be mutual interest for relationships to continue on. you noticed tat wether you knew it or not at a younger age when "distanced youself from "friends" that strayed down paths you wasnt tring to go down"

100% true. Make good decisions and good things follow. No matter how bad it is, you can turn it around. Ken, I have a degenerative lower back issue myself. The discs are eroding. It's not debilitating, but I have to do my stretches and I, too, workout pretty religiously. I hope your friend gets help. I have messed with the devil's dandruff in my younger days, and it ends badly.

Although I came to the channel because dirtbikes, I really enjoy these videos sometimes more than the memories of the old bikes I had and rode from a kid to a adult. Keep these videos in mind Im sure others look forward to them also.
Hi Ken, Thanks for the words of inspiration today. We lose sight of things when we're preoccupied with getting home after work and having a drink. Unfortunately it becomes a pattern where the alcohol controls us and we're no longer in control.I appreciate your transparency that you struggled with this problem in the past and cut yourself loose from it all. Your success in life speaks for itself and inspires us all to be our very best!
Always enjoy your videos as many of them like this one provide a good positive message... I will be 60 years old in February and quit smoking 30 years ago and quit drinking 20 years ago... The one thing I lack in is getting as much exercise as I probably should... I have had friends in the past who had problems with drugs and alcohol and it is a sad thing to see.
some go to or promote goin to gym for exercise, but a gym is very far from the only place one can exercise. there are many ways even without weights or exercise equipment. however, getting and having a home gym with weights and equipment is a good way to go for those who for whatever reasonsdo not want to be going to a gym weeky or even days out of each week. there is always bicycle riding too etc

Two attitudes you can take towards adversity. Victim or survivor. You are a survivor Ken. Don’t let anyone tell you different. Some people don’t have the self discipline to survive without crutches. Bless you for wanting to help others. Best way to lead is set an example. It’s inspiring to see people who live fruitful lives.
Glad you're doing better today. Your last video you were under siege at the shop and rightfully it was hard to be calm! If I make it, I'll have 21 years on Wednesday. If life was fair, I'd be dead. Got the GT550 back from the shop yesterday and took the RD400 out last night for a 60 mile cruise. To say I feel blessed is an understatement. A better life awaits all who choose to live life sober ODAAT. Sobriety looks great on you Bro.

i know its hard and all mindset i havent went back to gym for almost 2 months first month was worrying about my cancer screenings i pass that then find out as a type 2 diabetic now my kidnets are stage 4 so got me deppressed to where i just said fck it and didnt go as i got alot on my table as in i take care of everyone but myself i took care of my ma till she died then yr ago took care of her brother my uncle until he died so i have no family left except a disabled wife i take care of but as i sit herte and think it might be to late to improve my health i told my wife my greatest fear isnt dieing when god wants ya he gonna come get ya my greatst fear is leaving my disabled wife to fend for herself so i told her i have no choice but to try to get better weather it kills me or not i now take a few top supplements to help kidney function and starting monday im waking up at 5am weather i like it or not and start walking and lifting everyday to see what blood work says in 3 months love ya buddy hope all is well im still waiting for you to trade that bike for new roadglide lol

What a great video man..Yip the recipe is quite simple .My good pal Graeme English was a big powerhouse freestyle wrestler .He flushed it all down the bog for the booze .Complete tragedy .We all miss him..Lovely wife .Nice big detached house .Good carpenter business ..I had a chat with my good old dad about it and his conclusion was that I could ruin my life in 3 months .His point was if I bought a bottle of whisky every day and selfishly guzzled it .After a while the cracks appear and it starts to fall apart.The wife boots you out .The bills Don't get paid etc etc .You've done great man .No majic wand .Just getting up in the morning .Gritting your teeth and facing the world .Looks like all your assets you grafted hard for and appreciate everything down to the last blade of grass on your nice pile .It's impressive .I should have died when I hit a renault on my cbr1000 near Cambo les Bains on tour .Drifted over to his side on a left hander at 1am and BANG .Miracle I got away with it by flying over the roof and clipping my forearm on the top of tbe windscreen on the way over Never take any day on this big stone we are all spinning round on for granted .Your doing good man.Your grafting for it .I had 28 bikes in my time and loved ever minute .Ps the timber cladding on your house looks cool.Your on a roll..Also I would get a petrol water pump incase you get flooded again .(hope not).we used to use them and dehumidifiers when renovating flooded basement flats .

Amen! I can personally back you up on all that you said, from my personal bout with powder and crack cocaine addiction. Been a little over 10 years now, since I last used. I would Never Go Back. It's the Devil, and the Devil wants us dead, but he will happily settle on us living miserable for the rest of our lives, which to me is worse than death. No Thank You. Been down that neverending miserable road for many years. I was blessed to make it out to the other side alive. Love Y'all brother.

Well spoken words Ken!!! NOTHING means ANYTHING if you are broken physically OR mentally!!! I am sure we have all had times, I know that I have, when I am in the wrong headspace but everything else is going good. No problems for a little while, money is not an issue, relationships are pretty good… but still feel horrible about myself. But nothing can change how you feel if you're beaten down physically or mentally. I've had my back go out in the past, I've dealt with shit mentally (like hard times, loss of loved ones) and I could have a suitcase full of $100 bills right next to me and it will not change how you're dealing with it. So anyway, I get it. Thank you for the inspiring and encouraging words. Enjoy this beautiful day off with your honeybun regardless of what you wind up doing!!!

what are you benching? i used to do 406, 10 reps of 550 squat, 10reps of 575 deadlift..i'm aware younger guys can do way more than that but that was when i was 40..... that was a couple decades ago and i weighed 30 lbs more than i do now.. I still train daily

63 5'10 180 and still pumping iron. Gave up almost ALL carbs and the 10 more pounds I want to get rid of will be gone in another month or 2. I already had energy but now it's out of this world. I never was a soda drinker and it's amazing the multiple 6 packs of soda people buy. Milk, water and coffee is all that I drink.

Man, this hit home for me. I've got a good friend that's in bad shape on alcohol and cocaine. His dad passed and left him over a million dollars, and all he does is snort, drink, and gamble it up.
I've tried to talk with him, but it doesn't do much good.
I'm currently taking care of my mother who is 83, and almost died in a rest home from being given too much medication. So my day everyday is taking care of her. My brother's and sisters don't help me or her, and my health is suffering. I'm 49 this year, and own and operate my own motorcycle shop here in North Carolina, and I've had to turn away work, can't ride or anything else. I don't have the money to put her in a home, and we're living on $2000 @ month. I've got a son that turns 16 next month, and I'm not going to be able to afford to get him a car.
I feel absolutely helpless and defeated.

Never really drank but pills were my choice & quit them one yr ago after 30 yrs. Now I have to quit cigarettes which is not easy either.
