I am speechless and incredibly moved ,my Grandfather as a 19 year old alongside the very best English and Canadian men charged onto a beachhead named Juno on june 4th 1944,the following months he navigated hes way through France The Netherlands and Germany ,he returned home married and settled down as a postmaster ,hes gift to himself for being just a wonderful human was this beautiful motorcycle ,emigrated to Australia in 1980 and the Triumph stayed in Newcastle ,this upload made me shed a tear as i miss him everyday ,im sure hes a subscriber in heaven and he has hit the thumbs up button ,Thankyou this ones means alot
My father has had a 1968 bonneville sitting in the barn for 40 years. Rode on the back when I was a kid. Now I’m 46 and it’s been there as long as I can remember. Only reason I remember riding on it is because I scorched my ankle on the muffler. 😂. Never forgot that.
What an amazing motorcycle! 1965 absolutely amazing! That's definitely a love affair that is absolutely rotisserie amazing history on that motorcycle. What an amazing man! Thank you, Ken Kaplan great video! Ronnie number one❤ you guys melted my brain😮😮 John is an amazing man❤
Okay so bikes like this are not my cup of tea (im a 1970s /1980s dirtbike guy) but there is no denying it.....what an absloutr GEM of a bike....it looks and sounds like it only keft the Triumph factory TODAY
He's stopped it leaking oil unbelievable for a british bike 😂 They say the reason we never made computers here in England, we couldn't find away of making them leak oil, 😂 🇬🇧
Thanks for sharing. I have a 1964 TR6 which is basically the same as the 65. I paid 5 grand for mine a couple years ago... it's a clean bike and it runs like a champ. It's not fully restored, but it's a nice presentable daily rider. That 65 is a beautiful bike but I don't think he'll get 40 grand for it....he'd be lucky to get half that. Unless Jay Leno wants a matching TR6 to hang out with his 65 gold Bonneville, he might pay up for it. The Triumph market is pretty soft right now. It's a buyers market at the moment. I'm not in the world of the full restorations but I think 15K is a more realistic price The 2024 Comprehensive Vintage Motorcycle Price Guide says a fully restored 65 TR6 value is 12K, but I'm pretty sure you won't find a nicer example of that year and model, so maybe he could get a little more than that. Unless you're doing all of the work yourself, it's hard to get your money back on a restoration like that.
the motorcycle behind you, next to the Rockville sign, what model / year is it? does it come with a 12 months parts and labour warranty? Asking price? (here's hoping Mr Kaplan has a sense of humor!!!)
That's a sad story. The guy loves that bike.😞 I think he should keep it and sell his other bikes. Doesn't matter if he's too old to ride it. They're practically joined at the hip. (If bikes have hips)🤔 There's no way he'll ever reimburse what he spent on it, so might as well put it in his lounge and stare at it.
If that guy paid $40K to restore it, he was RIPPED OFF 100%. He brought it to people who really don’t know how to do it cost effectively. Those seats are readily available-no need for an upholsterer. That’s the wrong front brake cable. The tach cable is supposed to have shielding on it. Decals on the fender belong on the oil tank. What else did they waste this guy’s money on? I bet the engine wasn’t properly done, either by the way he described it. Pipes should not be that blue. That was caused by incorrect timing and carb setup. It just gets me so freakin’ mad seeing people ripped off and ending up with a shiny, but crappy restoration. Sadly, it’s worth far less than a 1/3 of what he’s got into it. I’ve seen better restorations sell for $10K at Mecum. He should keep it in the family.
You know when brother Kaplan America stops what he's doing it's for good reasons check this beautiful Bad Mamma Jamma certified panty dropper out baby it's immaculate Ken has met some of the coolest and greatest dudes that has the same passion as all of us on here this is just fucking amazing man well done sir👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼💚😎👌🏻🗯💥👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🤝🏼

Holy I'm amazed that's a beautiful bike
Now that is a fully restored motorcycle. You can't beat original parts, not cheap duplicates. That smooth purr says it all. Get out and ride it, man.
reminds me of the 1964 Bonneville i bought new. same color. got to love the valve train sound unique to triumph.
1967 TR6R was my first sickle !!!
❤ First bike I ever took a ride on my uncle was a true biker and he had one similar only green , beautiful bike !!!
Beautiful British bikes 👍

Love your channel. Your content is always top notch Kap. Keep it up brother.
Same year I was born. 👍 nice bike.
Bike makes my eyes and mouth water, it's so perfect. No wonder Kaplan wasn't allowed to ride it.
I rode it
I love it. Fantastic. I have a 1960 triumph Thunderbird 6t ,now mine looks rough 😂
I was 19 when I bought my Honda CB 750. I know how it feels to sell something that's you cherished as a kid. Beautiful bike! Thanks
Iam also 60 years i have painted the same bike verry nice to seen back on the road
She beautiful
How difficult is it to ride normal bikes and then have to shift and brake opposite on this?
🐝🏁 Video 👍. That a beautiful bike very very clean 👌 great running motorcycle 💪

In this condition it should easily fetch the 40k asking price
Sweet bike! 40k though......yikes!!!!!
I was born in 1965 as well Ken. i'm pretty sure this beauty is in slightly better nick than me.😕
My father rode a BSA 650 Road Rocket
He's stopped it leaking oil unbelievable for a british bike 😂 They say the reason we never made computers here in England, we couldn't find away of making them leak oil,
😂 🇬🇧
The bike that Evel jumped the fountains on....almost.

Its a stunning bike but.....Im a Triumph man and Ive done nut and bolt restorations but for 40k? You`d be dipping your toe into the world of Vincent.
Was the last of the British effort to compete with Japan...how sad.
Nice resto ..

❤
I wonder what would a DT 400 or YZ 465 / IT 465 (or even an IT 200S...the version from 1986 with the front disc brake) go for in this condition?
That's a sad story. The guy loves that bike.😞 I think he should keep it and sell his other bikes.

Wow, restoring it for 40K and then selling it. Do you think he's gonna get that 40K back?
£40 000 and front brake cable is far to long
maybe US market cable, but euro bars? regardless that's a one-beer job to make right if you feel inclined
Single carb, more rider friendly than the Bonneville's dual carb.
