If you have ever ridden a 1999 Busa, you know why they are King of the Hill!!! My friend Jeff and I traded bikes halfway through an afternoon ride. I got on an identical bike like this Bronze and Silver rocket and was amazed at how fast and how forgiving it was. It looks big but handles great and the power is ridiculous!!! God bless the person that is lucky enough to buy this bike 👍🏼
A co-worker commuted daily through the 6 month riding season we have here in northern Maine. It was a durable, dependable, fast commuter for him. Never had an issue with it. I find the Hayabusa looks far better in person than in pictures. For me, the performance is of higher value than perceived visuals. Some love it... some not so much. That's a real diamond!
I always thought they were ugly!!! Until one passed me at triple digits, when I was in my 2000 R1!! Wicked bike!! Much respect!! And what a great example of the speed king!!!
I have a 2005se (smoke gray)edition. Beautiful. 1st gear approx 85. 2nd gear approx 120. One of my favorite bikes. Added lower pegs and a handlebar riser. Smoother than warm butter.
You guys absolutely set the standard for other dealerships. Wish more places were honest like this place You keep finding these gems 💎 Has anyone seen a dealership that actually cares this much about the passion of bikes.

Awesome bike! I love those early first year Hayabusa’s, those to me are the best ones because they are unrestricted for power, so you can run those things all the way up into the RPM range and they will respond precisely, they are pure pieces of art, and they are definitely Kaplan America approved, 👍👌😁😎🤘💪✌
Ah, road rash, i remember getting a code for a bike called wild thing, it was so fast that if you crashed you ended up two miles away from the bike and ran out of time to run back up the road and get it 😀.
That is one gorgeous bike. Love the Creamsicle Color of the Paintjob. I remember when these bikes first came out. My mind was blown immediately. I worked with a buddy at the airport that had an Orange and Black Hyabusa. It was one gorgeous bike. I think it was a 1999, assuming they put out orange with black graphics paint jobs in 1999. You can break the speed limit in 1st gear. Love the seating position on them. More like a touring bike seat position than a sportbike position. Your Buddy definitely babied that bike. She is sweet.
I've never liked the look of the 'Busa, but wow, this has to be the cleanest example I've ever seen. I owned a black 2005 Kawasaki ZX12R from new, loved that thing!
It's an absolutely amazing bike. All original boosted had it on his channel. Amazing! Thank you guys so much for teaching me about the Hayabusa and all the rest of the videos absolutely amazing sir. Ken Kaplan is the king of motorcycles most beautifulest hayabooster❤❤
I remember very well when these beasts came out, i had a 1997 Suzuki TL1000S at the time it too was a beast for it's day and had 123bhp, pure torque wheelie monster. After 1997 they detuned the TL1000 fuel injection system mainly in 1st gear cause allot of guys found them to snappy and abrupt and it sent many to the deaths through corners and created tank slapper accidents they also recalled them and started adding steering dampners on them and then the 1997 model became known as the widow maker and labeled that in the 1998 superbike magazine. In future years the 1997 model TL became the most sought after as it was known as the full hp model. Anyhow when the Hayabusa came out i think everyone at the time was blown away from it's shear stance and the high speed and power it produced! History maker that bike for sure!
Absolutely love my 2006 Hayabusa, silver/black colors, slightly modded a bit with Scorpion cans, carbon bits and a tail tidy, everyone talks about speed with the Busa but it's such an easy big bike to ride, really quite a docile beast if you want it to be, got mine only a year after passing my test (here in the UK) and honestly think i could have had it as a first bike (started with a K4 GSXR600), because the bike it so tall geared it's so relaxed and unstressed at 70-80 mph, at 100mph it's just getting into it's stride, had mine at 150 and it was still pulling like a train (when i'll admit i ran out of bottle), the weight is a bit of a bind sometimes and i wouldn't say it's 100% comfortable (it's a big sports bike really, at 53 i get a bit of wrist and back ache on longer rides) but every ride feels like an event, you are sitting on a legend, sounds amazing, i don't know what i'd replace it with. Greetings from Scotland.
I still remember the day these came out, the first time I rode it I had to recalibrate my brain it was so much faster and so smooth and the ease with with which it would hit 100 mph was almost impossible. Awesome, this one belongs in the museum it is a piece of history.
Well said , I test rode the Busa in 99 then bought the zx12r in 2000 , im a very experienced rider & took a while to get my head around the acceleration & braking points 💯🚀
@@wayno23 I have been riding for the last 35 years myself and own a 74 cb 350 a 78 cd 200 a 1989 V Max, a 1990 fj 1200 , 1992 fireblade ,2000 Blackbird a 2013 Suzuki Bandit 1250s and a VTX1800F1, great hearing from you stay safe and keep on riding.
So, my childhood Buddy told me make it out to WI. to visit him before he passed and I could ride his Hayabusa . Well hes been gone 7 yrs now and I did get to make it out and bikes gone . At least his Nephew got it . Nice bike . I really wanted to ride that thing too on those 4-5 lane WI Hyw's lolol . And of course see my friend Ernie :) . Like the color . RnR :) . Like to see you guys get a Blackbird :) .love those .
Greetings Captain Kaplan from rainy England... I have owned 6 Hayabusa covering all 3 gens. For me the first generation is the best...but I have also owned 2 Kawasaki ZZR1400 (ZX14-R in the USA I believe) and in my humble opinion the mighty Kawasaki is actually the better machine...
Great description & presentation Ken on both those holy grail of factory legal 2 fastest motorcycles ever produced 💯. I've the green 💚 one since new & my mate had that exact same Busa. I've ridden both back to back & Ken you now have too ! 👍 which one would you choose?
I like the way the green Cali looks but I haven't had a chance to ride them both enough I used to own a Hayabusa add the daily Rider a long time ago I need to give the ZX12 more time
@KaplanCycles thanks for your reply, yes the Busa is a better daily. Both are classed as sport tourers but i feel the Kawasaki is more sports oriented. When Kawasaki unveiled the zx12r they said these bikes had started a new class..Ultrasport 💨🚀🤙
Man had a murdered out XX1100 with em you talk about a trio…seen a boy push a xx to the limit ona little holler road with a passenger and god was with them cause he was 1 car away from death.
Had a chance to buy one at Barber Vintage weekend maybe 7years ago for 5k. Like new 2k miles , makes me sick to think about it lol. But have a 02 Blue and black busa unmolested with about 10 k miles.
A guy near me who sells used bike parts, has one of these, and he told me they didn't come with a center stand, cause his doesn't have one, could it be a Canadian thing.
God bless a center stand. 🙏🏻⭐️

Fellow Mainer here! Ive never noticed a busa before, wish I had because they sound so good. I saw a Kawasaki h2 in Augusta once
Best color ever Hayabusa
Best year…Unrestricted ECU with maximum sauce no holding back…
did you guys see the v8 version of that engine revs to 15000 rpm
We took one to the Texas mile bone stock and hit 169 on the first run later 176 . No mods .
The Holy Grail of busa's. Best color and unrestricted.
The ZX12R is prettier but I've always loved the brutal styling of the Busa and the creamsickle paint scheme is perfection.
I always thought they were ugly!!!
Until one passed me at triple digits, when I was in my 2000 R1!!
Wicked bike!!

I can't imagine what it was like ripping this bike in 1999. Passing other fast bikes like they're standing still.
They still do to this day , if there's lot's of long straights.
That's clean!

That center stand is a charm ✨️
Thank You Ken ! Awesome presentation,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,T.C
Wow! I never Knew Busa's offered a center-stand. Mind blown !!
All hail the king. My 99 dynoed at 160 to the wheel, 100 tqs
I know this bike came out after the Road Rash video games, but it always reminded me of the fast bikes you buy towards the end of the game.
Ah, road rash, i remember getting a code for a bike called wild thing, it was so fast that if you crashed you ended up two miles away from the bike and ran out of time to run back up the road and get it 😀.
I'm not into that type of bike but that's a beauty. Form and function.
I had a 2006 busa it was great.
Menudo Mckinnon, vaya vaya la reina de la autopista 👏🏻
Look at that beauty!!

My favorite Hyper bike was my ZX12R full powered , absolute missile
Wish I was well off, this beauty would be in the garage already . What a piece of art ..
I’m a Kawasaki lover but I respect the GSXR for leading the way on the Hayabusa.
I have a 2008 parked next to my Road King. This bike here has the best paint scheme of all of them.

I demo rode a 2017 model. FUN! Too much for me though. V-strom for me thanks, or an SV. Mufflers are PERFECT for that bike though.
Great video love to see these bikes! Thumbs up for you kaplan america 🙂 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The engine in that beast is basically an indi car engine cut in half
25 year old bike looks brand new!
My friends dad had the burgundy 1st gen, monster bike.
What a beautiful bike looks bran new love thoes twin pipes
They can hit 600mph in less that 2 seconds! God bless America!!!
DAMN that color!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
100 in 3rd gear will always make me smile.
It will do 90 in first gear.
@@MotoGuy-ul6lp If you want to blow the engine up, sure. 1st gear at redline is 79 or so. Crazy fast bike, regardless.
@@angrytater2456 not saying you should 🙂 I redline mine sometimes but only from 2nd and so on, so I I'm not changing through neutral
@@MotoGuy-ul6lp But redline in 1st is 78-79, not 90.

The scary thing about these bikes is they are so fast yet they don't sound or feel like it. They hide their speed extremely well.
The economy is downsizing everyone’s dreams and collections they’ve worked hard FOR‼️
Except everyone is buying these bikes....

She's a real beauty and goes way too fast for my reflexes today. If you want to go fast this is the one.
love those Toecutter boots

Not enough room on that street for that machine 100 mph in first gear those are bad units there
Was just waiting for you to light that new rear pilot sport up when you stopped at the bottom of the slope😢
Most iconic colored Busa of all.
I owned a 99 in black and grey way back in 2000...nothing rips like a busa 😮
very nice hayabusa.
Bad Ass
Pure ❤.
🐝🏁 Beautiful 🏍
Man that thing sold like hotcakes
The original Copper Canary...
You better keep that one for your collection
I saw that wheelie lol.
Looks like it also has some aftermarket handlebars with a rise above the stock straight bars.
Center stand alone is a buying option.
Awesome
Amazingly, as the fastest bike, it has a center stand too
... And that's pretty faaaast ..seems virtually impossible to keep up with on foot 😅
