I was fortunate in my teens that my neighbor across the road had many antique motorcycles. In his collection he had a 1924 Henderson inline 4 at 1500 cc's. I got to ride the wheels off it. It was very fast and exciting and smooth. In the owner's manual it said from 6 to 10 mph. Many of these bikes were parted out from their motor and the motor separated from the transmission for ultralight airplanes it's lucky that this cycle is fully intact
Anything with an engine and wheels, Jimmy can bring back to life, and make Run. He's truly an amazingly talented, top tier, knowledgable, humble mechanic..I think Jimmy is your New Manic Mechanic. This bike is truly stunning. Too bad it can't talk. It would have many good stories to tell. Definitely a head turner and attention getter. Great video!
The Excelsior-Henderson Brand was auctioned off in 2018. Excelsior-Henderson saw its greatest successes under the ownership and direction of Ignaz Schwinn, whose empire in Chicago was created from profit on his bicycles. During 10 years, from 1911-21, Henderson’s were the only 4-cylinder motorcycles produced in the U.S., and by the late 1920s, it was Excelsior-Henderson and Indian that dominated the 45 cubic-inch market with the Super X and Scout models. Schwinn correctly foresaw a major downturn in motorcycle sales for 1930, and decided to pull the plug on his big bikes and focus on bicycles, which were likely to continue selling well when jobs were scarce. The company never again produced motorcycles.
Excelsior-Henderson faded from the scene, and an attempt to sell the brand at a Mecum auction in 2018 was unsuccessful. But in December 2020, the name was bought by Bajaj, the giant Indian manufacturer that has links with firms including Kawasaki, KTM, and Triumph.
@@6AlphaMikeCharlie9 Wow.. Bajaj must be drawing and designing a new latest Henderson Busa 1500cc 4 cylinder as we speak in a basement somewhere in India
A careful soap and water bath wont ruin the patina. Leave it original and a little cleaner. Awesome bike, crew, business and channel Kap!! We love what you are doing for our passion.
Man you hit the nail on the head… that we only have a few years in this life… yeah everybody that’s listening get up and do something you once enjoyed doing.. man I’m 61 and it seems like life just flew by… I’d give anything to go back to the 1970s.. that’s a awesome bike… that’s definitely a treasure… thanks for the video buddy…

There was a company in the UK called Excelsior, based in Coventry, was a British bicycle, motorcycle and car maker. They were Britain’s first motorcycle manufacturer, starting production of their own ‘motor-bicycle’ in 1896. They made great bikes as well.
I really like Jimmy he is living his dream just like the rest of you are doing, Maybe someday I will come up there from Texas and visit you all. I probably will take a bike home with me also. (A new Gas Gas 125 cc Hell Yea why not.)
Sounds awesome!!! I always wanted to hear one of those run. My father and I loved those in a museum we were at. They look so cool. That would have been insane fast for its time. 4 cylinders! Back when 2 cylinders was a big deal.

Ken lgnaus Schwinn owned Excelsior and Henderson motorcycle companies at the same time he owned Schwinn corporation during the great depression Ignatius Swin made the decision to shutter both Excelsior and Henderson motorcycle companies but yes, Schwinn owned both of those manufacturing motorcycle companies. Ignaus Schwinn also had a good friend who raced Hendersons killed on one, and some say that was part of his decision.

The diversity and amount of bikes that go through your shop is commendable. There's a reason this is the best motorcycle channel out there.
That's the same vintage as my dad. Both are 93 years old. I vote the dirt and patina stay
Good to know God blessed your dad with a long life! My Grandma died last year she was 95

DOT started in 1967.

Amazing motorcycle.
With how Smooth our Roads are today; these 85 to 100 mph rated bikes will smash the ton.
sure you can! just add 10 percent STP oil treatment to the oil in it!

What's going to happen to it? Full resto?

Save for the Triumph in-line three, no other American manufacturers utilized an-line design. That's a shame, they were real smoothies.
More videos in the shop!

Sounds like Top fuel Funny car
I always wonder who the orginal owner was on these 100 year old bikes
I wonder about these things too , be it an old motorcycle , a firearm , or any old antique . If only they could talk what a story they might tell .
Hey hey , very cool, nice :)
Excelsioooor ! I bet she would break the tonn ..it wouldn't keep up with Vincent Black Shadow but it should easily pace neck to neck with a Brough Superior 💯
