    It's called child abuse. If a. Child wants to do it, then let them do it for fun, if not the parents are forcing them to do it.

    You guys should do a segment on ways of getting back to highschool or getting GED when you've been out of school for over ten years. Away to give people like me have a hope to go back to school with hard time the hard times of financial and dreams to do more in life like hair dresser or voice acting.

    Why tf would ANYONE do this to their child. It's horrible. Being judged on how you look. You get prizes and congratulatory messeges if you are considered pretty. SO MANY PEOPLE ARE AFFECTED BY LOW SELF ESTEEM, LOW SELF CONFIDENCE, SELF DOUBT, AND SOMETIMES ALL OUT DEPRESSION BECAUSE OF THESE CONTESTS. Little children, caking on makeup, going on diets, and maybe even doing this all against their will. It's disgusting. Things like this should not be in our history books.

    All pageants are not toddlers and tiaras. The ones I do are more focused on community siervice. I just feel people judge pageants in general because of toddlers and tiaras. Pageants have gained a reputation because of toddlers and tiaras. All I’m trying to say not all pageants are the same. 🙂

    Then get rid of sports, dance, scouts, gymnastics and all other child activitys....it all has to to do with the parents. If parents dont make it fun and give their children confidence out side of an activity then just get rid of them all together.

    I have 1 child, not a girl and we've never done any type of pageants. However these are not DARK SECRETS, If you've watched toddlers n tiaras you will see exactly how they get ready. It's playing dress up, doing talent contests, for fun and just so happens to have prizes. Anyone who thinks it's wrong should look at the facts before placing judgement on another parent. The parent pays for their child to take part, pays for their expensive dresses, makeup, hair, teeth, all that jazz....and MIGHT I REPEAT MIGHT ** have a chance in winning. No different than boys playing sports in my opinion and the fact you used "dark pageant secrets" in the title/thumbnail is really misleading as far as how these pageants and the LITTLE YOUNG girls and boys who attend or participate in them feel when they win.

      Xerin Knightwalker that's the pageants choice as far as their naming it a "beauty" pageant. Believe me, I'm a female. I've been a young girl. Teen girl, and now I'm a mother to a boy who will grow up to be a man, husband and possibly a father to girls. People get way too upset over the smallest thing it's unreal to expect everyone to feel the same about anything in this world. This is why I did not say "you're wrong if you think beauty pageants are wrong" I said to look at the facts of how they are....i gave my opinion and I'm sorry you didn't agree. I wasn't commenting on this to start a debate on the ethics, I was commenting to be sure people knew they don't keep those things a secret which is what talko claimed in the title, if you watched 1 episode on TLC or whatever they play it on these days, they don't hide the fact that hair extensions, makeup, spray tans, eyelashes, teeth are fake. They show every part of a pageant including how the girls prepare for them. And speaking as a woman, I LOVE TO WEAR FAKE EYELASHES, DRESSES, HEELS AND ANYTHING GLAM ON A DAILY BASIS. I walked into the grocery store with wedge sandals and a dress, while a woman in her pajama pants called me a stripper. ONLY BECAUSE I WAS DRESSRD UP!!! It's sad that people can't wear whatever they want, because someone else thinks it's wrong. Smh.

    Beauty pageants may be good for self esteem for the kids who win but the kids who don’t will sometimes think it’s because they were not beautiful enough. My kids will never enter one

      C W ok what about sports they are confidence boosters if you win and don’t if you don’t win, it’s the same for everything

    • @cw7821
      @cw7821 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      xxmadisonlee sports rely on team work and sportsmanship. You can't say that for a beauty pageant. Its useless and more ablut the parents wants than what the kids want

    • @madisonclifton6027
      @madisonclifton6027 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      C W not true ik me and my friends well together to make sure we look good and my coach’s help me perfect my walk and to be more confident and i was the one to ask my mom when i was seven to do pageants you don’t know anything unless you did them

    • @cw7821
      @cw7821 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      xxmadisonlee I know plenty about them and how they work. You may be the exception and not the rule but if you ever been to a pageant then you know the moms get a little too competitive and some moms even get crazy.
      Like I said my kids will never be in one. They don’t need a judge to tell them they are beautiful because I do that and so does a lot of other family and friends. Other parents can raise their kids their way and it’s not my concern. My kids are

    As a pageant girl myself, i do pageants by MY choice. These mothers do not force anything on their kids. We have to wake up super early which makes us most of the time tired and grumpy. We are not spoiled by any means. We all are sweet children and are never forced. Beauty pageants are for fun. But in the glitz world, yes, you cant eat colored stuff or get messed up because in the glitz world, everything is perfect. So the judges count off for small things. Trust me, i know seeing as how i was and still am a pageant kid and my mom was a judge. Thanks but don’t spread false information. -sophia mahaffey
