Great tips. I'm 63 and I've been watching your videos for a few months now and they have motivated me to improve my wardrobe, style and appearance for my wife. She's definitely noticed and appreciates that I still want to impress her. Thank you, John.
The biggest difference between when my wife started dating vs now is that we have a deeper connection and more interesting discussions (and more combined disposable income). Our marriage works because we continue to put genuine effort in the relationship and acknowledging our needs as a couple and as individuals.
Been happily married for almost 24 years. My advice? Be a GREAT listener, and as John said, don’t steal her story or act like it’s not important. My wife is a dispatcher for our county sheriff. When she tells me about her work shift I try to ask questions and be genuinely interested in what she’s saying. Then when another situation comes up a few days down the road, I can ask follow-up questions relating to the story from a few days ago. It’s that, “Oh, you were paying attention and you do care” moment that helps keep our marriage going. Sounds silly, but it keeps us communicating and involved in each other’s lives.
That's pretty funny, John! The sense of humor is huge when it comes to relating with women. I want to add that being genuine with compliments is important. Using them as manipulation is anything but being a gentleman. I complimented a woman who works at my go to morning bistro today because of something she was wearing, told her she was rocking the look, and she thanked me. She knew I meant it. Kindness is the other one that must be genuine, no faking it. Good stuff, good sir.
No John, I clicked on the video because it is a new video! 😂😂😂. That said... There are so many idiosyncrasies of etiquette on what to do & what not to do. Normally when I meet a gal for the 1st time, I usually let her do the talking. I sit back and let my Sigma self roll on, more times than not it works out well. What you are talking about through this whole video, is on point. And, these are skills every man needs to brush up on more & more.
I took your advice and got out of the car to open bthe door for the lady I've been seeing vfirvthe last three years. She was very impressed. Thanks for the tips as always.
Thanks friend. Listen, @2:43 you're saying you always should lead through the restaurant. There's another approach to that rule that says the man must always lead EXCEPT when the both of you are being led by a third person such as the restaurant hostess. In the case of being led, he follows. (Presumably to keep things safe from behind.) but I like your "hold her hand and lead her" suggestion. This is similar to stairs; The man must lead down a flight of stairs and follow up stairs (and walk on the street side of the sidewalk, for that matter.) This reminds me of a real lady I dated for a while. As we arrived at the table she would slow her pace ever so slightly to allow me to get to the table and handle things like chairs from there. She did these things automatically and without any thought at all. A real, proper grown-up woman makes it so much easier to conduct yourself like a gentleman.
Stand up when she leaves to use the restroom and comes back. If you are out and decide to take a little walk, always walk on the side closest to the road. Personally I don't believe you lost any points or whatever you called them for the little mistake. I think if the date went well and ended well it was nothing big and it's probably something you noticed more than her.
I love your vids. I’ve purchased many of the clothing recommendations you’ve made and my girl friends has commented every time. I also feel great in them. I’m definitely going to try the silk underwear. In a video you did earlier, you mentioned a dress belt without holes. I think you mentioned it had a ratchet system. I thought I saved that video but I can’t find it. Would you please send me the link. BTW, this video was past due. Men need to be reminded how to be a gentleman. I do most of these and it gets noticed. But I learned some additional things I can do. Thank you!
You said a lot of things I have been telling younger men for a while. And there is nothing like taking out your wife and having the other women in the restaurant giving your wife jealous looks as you look sharp while their dates don’t.
I went out with a beautiful woman, dinner was nice, some interesting and profound topics at moments, had a couple of wines, and then suddenly she asked if I liked to play "8 ball". I did play on parties a couple of times before, so I said yes, then she proposed to go to a nearby billiards bar to play. I'm my mind, I imagined us playing together and showing her some moves by holding her shoulders, something sexy. We arrived at the place, and she asked the barman for "her stuff". She had a glove, her own cue, some chalk, and a spare cue for friends. Little did I know she was a regional billiards champion, and that was her place. I was massacred in all games with her, but she showed me some techniques and we did had a lot of fun in the end.
I'm seventy two I still pull out a chair and open a door for my wife and compliment her outfits something like darling you look ravishing I'm the luckiest guy in the world I try to look good myself, great video God bless
@@dasheffield5596What’s the problem? If you are both consenting to it what’s the issue? Both age is legal frankly I’m not that old yet but I can guarantee even in my 60s I’ll prefer young hot 18 - 20 years over late 20s and above
Guys need to shower! EVERYDAY! So do women. I don't know about how it is where you live in California, but most everywhere else in the USA guys and gals look like they get their clothes off the floor or out out of the hamper. Most women wear those skin tight yoga pants or sweat pants everyday, no matter where they go, whether they have the figure for them or not! Guys wear baggy gym shorts and oversized t-shirts with a logo on it.
Quite a funny story, John 😁 Just to sound like a pretentious p*ick myself, carpaccio is a term for any meat or fish that is served raw and sliced really thin. You can have tuna carpaccio.
Storytime comment... Actually the error was on the part of the server/ kitchen which should have had both courses ready simultaneously. There should be no reason for them to have been brought to your table separately. Having said that, I would not have blamed the staff but in reality it was not your fault for not recognizing something that you did not order. I would certainly hope that your date would have recognized the tuna unless she's never had that dish before. Que sera
all about pleasing the woman. no mention of gauging her to see if she's worth your attention. open the door? if she walks past without a "thank you"? red flag #1 keep gauging her...
I open the door and she goes first. Every. Single. Time. Otherwise, it seems like I'm just going through and she gets in on the push. No. Who says it's improper etiquette? And... ball powder? How about just be CLEAN?
Been married to my wife for 35 years and I have never opened the car door for her when we were dating or now when we go out to eat. If I did she would look at me weird and ask what are you doing. I just think that whole thing is just showing off, like look at me being so proper it's all an act. Doesn't impress me, just seems kind of silly, what's the point.
Another great video John. If as a guy you've made it this far in life and you don't already have the wisdom in this video, it makes me wonder what the fuck you've been doing. I mean...how can you not know to open your date's car door first? I've been with my girlfriend almost a decade, and I still do this without fail. It conveys respect, good manners, and that you care. And if you think women don't notice or don't care, you're in for a shock. That said, I will respectfully disagree with John on the proper way to walk your date to your restaurant table after leaving the maitre d's stand. Unless the place is very busy, I will walk behind her with my hand on the small of her back, maintaining contact all the way. This is correct etiquette in England. The maitre d' will usually be the one to seat my date first, so there's no need for me to pull out her chair.

Great show and great advice John…👍
This is something I do with most of the people I go out, men included. Even though I'm not the most refined man, manners are important.
Agreed!
You’ve done it again John, so much common sense but so often forgotten. 👍
Thank you!

All great points you gave. I would add, instead of asking for your meal, state what you want to eat. Not "may I" but rather, "I would like"
Thanks for the video John!!! I was doing a couple of these things completely wrong and had no idea - cheers!
Cheers!!
lets talk, getting the date, and knowing when or if to even ask for a date
Oooh… great suggestion!

Glad to hear there are standards being maintained. You are on a mission to rescue the Dolts from themselves.
If I held my wife’s hand to lead her anywhere she would hate it 😂. She is not the hand-holding type.

COULDN’T HAVE SAID IT ANY BETTER! ! 👍
Thank you!
Great video! What if her hand is out of reach when you want to lead her?
Do the best you can, but it’s usually not a problem.
Very Good, My Good Buddy!
Thank you!
What type of “Ball powder” do you recommend?
I like Chassis.

Making progress! Heading up to Santa Yanez this weekend to see the facility.
that story is hilarious 😆

That fellow in the slot machine lounge is one handsome rooster. I am a bit jealous 😅
Haha!
If you're at a restaurant where you can't tell if it's a fillet-o-fish or a big mac maybe you shouldn't take her to McDonalds, lol.
Haha!
Honestly, a 22 year old doesn’t sound so bad.
Not when you’re sixty two 😳?
Haha!
@@dasheffield5596 I mean, I’m 47 so it sounds good to me. 62? 35 would be my cut off.

That's called a bad thing.
