May I add one more item? A plug for sinks so you can wash your clothes in the sink. Many sinks do not have stoppers, or plugs. Thanks for the day pack tip. Good idea!

Thanks! I had a habit of over packing until I decided to downsize and simplify my life over a 3 year period. That minimalist mindset changed my traveling behavior for the better. The younger me loaded up every "just in case" item and way too many clothes. Lol
@@JakeSnowLiveSimple Did you have to buy a Thailand power converter for your laptop and extra wall adapters for the electric outlets? Thailand uses 220v?
@@victorizah4306Good question. I don't use a power converter or outlet adaptors, and yes, Thailand's power supply is 220v. I haven't traveled with a converter for a couple years now. There are shavers, electric toothbrushes, etc.. that recharge by USB. Also, all the Apple chargers for my iPhone and Mac Book Pro work fine in the 220V outlets here in Thailand.
I love your ideas, but not so much your expensive brands of clothing :) I'm old and simple My goals are to to wear shorts that are cool in the hot Philippines weather, but have no skid marks. Our fashion sense is different :) My favorite brand of underware is a 100% natural brand called Commando. I'm mostly packing for motorcycle trips ranging from a weekend, to a week or 2. Including flying like you do is very different. My luxury item is a 4 piece fishing pole and a bit of gear. There are no gyms near my area, so I just use the LBFM machine quite often as a substitute. Oh my god. Does that 16" Crapple laptop fit in under the ADV 160 seat? I'll be picking up a new laptop before I retire to Philippines soon and need something ADV under seat compatible. Thank you Sir!
Hey Jake, I've seen several travelers use the same sort of setup as you are showcasing in your upload. My first trip abroad (ages ago), I used a similar setup when backpacking around Europe. I've learned my lesson and now wonder why most don't use a rolling backpack. The size is identical, but the weight is slightly heavier at less than two pounds. With the rolling backpack, however, one need not always lug around their belongings on their back. Any reason, other than personal preference that I'm missing? Thanks for the upload.
Hey Steve, I've never found a rolling back pack that is comfortable enough for long walks with it strapped to my back. I would love to find one, though. The Tortuga is super comfortable lugging around but If I could find a bag that was similar in comfort with rollers that would be a big bonus. Which rolling backpack do you use?

Yes, my 16" MacBook Pro and audio/video gear packed in my day pack easily fit under the seat. 👊🏼
