Thank you ! :) I guess New York is like Paris... no matter what weather you have it's just a wonderful city to shoot street photography :) I am glad you liked the shots !:)
Great content man! I really like how you addressed the situation with the vendor. My anxiety would have kicked in then haha. You earned a new follower. Keep it up!
Love your channel which i found by chance , i too am a street photographer around the area of London so was looking for videos on some inspiration and found yours , also love your intro videos in slow motion ,
Thanks a lot Vicky ! Appreciate your kind words :) London is a great place to shoot street (I have made two videos there) Thank you for watching and I am glad you like the short slow motion intros :)
Lovely, as always ! The photos of the man in the bus and over the bus station are Amazing ! The way you deal with the food truck man to take a great picture is interesting 😅
Thank you :) Coffee and pastries were not good. If you ever come to Brussels I will introduce you to sublime pastries and very good coffee :). I am huge fan of flat white (as my second coffee of the day and couldn't find a proper one in NY). Next waffle on the channel will be dedicated to you :)
Excellent again Octavian, love the dog sellers attitude which got him nowhere, great reflection shots too. Hard to choose favourites but I think mine are the silhouettes. Thanks for sharing.
Rain often welcomed by street photographers - but they usually over-do umbrella shots, especially guys in the UK. Good that you did not go down that route, Octavian, but captured some fine “plastic coverings” photos - more creative, IMO. (Rain can be “acidic” in NYC from pollutants - hope you dried your gear quickly.) Good collection of images, suitable music, effective reverse plays. Lots of NY characters and loads of proximity photos. 33 Cowgirl was a do-again from first vid - something about her...😊. Favs include 8, hair lady, 20, bus passenger, 22 layers, 8 “wish” (proximity?) and 21/25 proximity. Not much food in this one, but there’s good stuff in the city if you know where to look - best in too expensive restaurants and residential neighborhood working class eateries. Cart vendors can be hit or miss, mainly miss, for a quick bite on the go. I sense a bit of relief in how you ended this one😊. By now I suppose you have settled back to the slower, more familiar European pace. Cheers!
Thanks for sharing. Am i right in thinking you shoot aperture priority - looked like ISO3200 and F4 were dialied in for much of that session and you leave the shutter speed to sort the balance out?
Thanks for watching Stewart ! I shoot in aperture priority, yes. It was pretty dark at some point and in order to freeze the images I shot at high iso (1600/3200) ineed. Shutter speed was 1/200 1/500 depends on situation :)
⭐Many⭐ good shots. Like the silhouette in bus. Please do not take pictures - You came away with some anyway 😁👍 Make me want to go to NY, but first London in October 🛫
The weather was not friendly at all. Also some people but the pictures came out great. You've worked hard. Glad you enjoyed your experience there. We certainly enjoy the pictures. Well done🔥👏👏👏
Hi Alexandru ! Despite being rainy it was pretty warm : 25-28 C . Weather seems to be different from the one in Europe. I am glad you liked the pictures ! :) See you soon !
Hey Octavian Still on fire 🔥 in part 2 aswell. Another fabulous image set. It seems the secret to your consistent good work is..... cake and pastries. 😄👊 Couple of favourites for me were... The girl with the binoculars looking up...... and then the child with the hand wedged in the cheeks of the statue figure. All unmistakably New York incl the grumpy Chilli Dog Vendor. You owned him in the end anyhow 😄 Thanks for making these vids Octavian. Appreciated. We are lucky to have you here on YT. 😎📷👊👍👋
Hi Steve ! Thank you for the feedback on part 2 :) The cake and pastries in NY they are not on the same level as the ones in Europe . I was a little bit disappointed to be honest :) Thanks for watching the videos Steve ! See you soon !
@@OctavianCarare Hello my friend. I think cakes and pastries in Europe are made with love and finesse, whereas in NYC they are made for profit. Anyway... the photos make up for everything 😄😎📷👍👊👋👋
Thought here we go another boring new York street pics. But i was surprised in how good some of your images turned out. Rain can he just as good as sun light.
Hi Gary. I guess it's hard to do boring pictures in NY when you have all those crazy things happening on the streets, literally at every corner :) . Thank you for watching !
I have to say, yes indeed it wasn't a great weather for a shooting sessions but i think you've made a really great session ! I think, personnaly, i prefer this NY session over the last one. Joli travail une nouvelle fois Octavian !
Merci encore ! :) NY c'est incroyable quand il y a du soleil. Mais ca bouge aussi quand il pleut et il fait moche :). Anyways, a great citiy to shoot street no matter if it's raining or sunny :)

Interesting photos, just what we expected 👍. My choices number 2 and 20. Octavian, haven't you considered doing a Photo Year-Book of your best photos. That would really be great.
Thank you for watching Jay ! And for the feedback. Well I have thought about a book to be honest but I feel I need to work more. Next year I plan to submit photos to different street photography contests. Yet again, I need to get better shots :)
Buna Seara Octavian. Nice pictures. I love your approach, your style, and your framing. Keep it up. I have a question, if I may. Do you edit the pictures you post here, or are they straight out of camera? The reason I am asking is because I really consider getting one of these Q series. Currently shooting with fuji GFX and sony a7cii.
Hi there ! Thank you ! I am glad you liked the shots :) I do edit the pictures, yes. The ones straight from camera are pretty dull, even tough the colours are nice, I prefer adding a bit of contrast, deepen the shadows. My advice is to try to rent or find someone who has a Q series and play with it couple of hours, download the pictures on your PC and afterwards decide if you like it. Not everybody seems to get along with the 28 mm focal length. Cheers :)
lol the street food vendor didn’t want you to take his picture 😂. Usually they don’t care but I guess his business wasn’t that good that day. Anyway, just to let you know that I admire your pictures and follow your channel.
Good damn shit ! Don’t take a picture 😅… Probably one of your best set for me… The mood of the city under the rain, the music, the pictures until “the end” close the video, too quickly unfortunately. You asked in a previous video if you would be a better photographer shooting in NY? The video speaks by itself. NY have got a specific energy, it is really vibrant. But the talent is to capture it in the good way what you succeed in it 👍🏻
@@OctavianCarare There are two major issues: 1. In Manhattan it is often crowded and busy and 2. The people there can be aggressive. The confrontation you had with the street vendor was unsurprising. Some great pictures there again! Q2 seems to cope well with the rain. I wondered how many people object to you taking a picture and how you deal with it? Also do you find reactions different in the different cities you visit? Look forward to the next one!
Hi there ! Actually this is not my 1st time shooting street in the rain with the Q2, so far didn't have any issues. To be honest not many people object me taking a picture, most of the time they are confused and I am smiling and walk a way. They rarely ask me about taking pictures.
